a happy place

February 17, 2012 By Xanthe Berkeley

Photo edited in RadLab.

This one of my favourite photos from our recent trip to NYC… my son leaping on the rocks in Central Park, I’m reminded of that happy place whenever I see it. I’ve printed it out BIG and it hangs in my kitchen so I can go back to this happy place when I glance at it.

Share with us today a photo of a place or time that makes you happy, and I’d love to prompt you to print it out, to hold in your hands, or display, so you can be transported back there when your eyes fall on it.

What a beautiful moment you captured…I absolutely love it. No wonder you have it hanging where you can see it on a regular basis!

What an awesome picture. I can see why you printed it out! I haven't done that yet with my photos since I've been taking photo classes online. I'd love to though! Here is a picture that brings me to a happy place:

I love this photo of my nieces interacting with each other. I smile every time I see it. I love looking at it. I've decided to print it on canvas to hang where I can see it every day.

Last weekend I had a new photography friend in town for a creative retreat for two. This picture will definitely always remind me of that, and of the newness of a friendship I expect to last a long, long time:

This is my favourite picture from last year. I have just had it printed on a canvas and it makes me smile every time I see it.

Wow, Xanthe. That is an awesome photo…

I definitely have one from a couple summers ago with my step-kids. It brings me back to that day, the emotions, the fun! It also screams summertime to me. 🙂

Firstly what a fantastic post! I really like Becs contribution, Mine is nothing grand just quick moments that stay with me forever particularly this one:

every time I see these two images it brings me back. I love experiencing little moments spent with people that mean a great deal even if to them it was nothing more then a push on a swing.

    Take care

This photo of the ferris wheel at the Santa Monica Pier instantly transports me to one of the happiest days of my life. It was taken during our summer vacation last year and I adore it (and that is why it's plastered all over my website/blog and stores! )

I just so happened to have blogged about this recently. In the cold gray of February, a little mental vacation back to the Caribbean really lifted my spirits! http://www.photosbyleanne.net/2012/02/mental-vacation.html

I have to agree that my happy place is the beach, which is just steps away from my place. And that my happy place is often shared with my favorite person!
