autumn lovin’

September 23, 2011 By Kim Klassen

There is just so much to love about autumn; the vibrant colors, fallen leaves, crisp air, yummy warm drinks, and bountiful harvest blessings.

But I think my favorite thing of all is pulling out the warm sweaters, blue jeans, wooly socks…. and yes my Uggs.

This image tells the story of a typical autumn day in my life; both the beginning and the end. I walk into the studio, Ben right along side me. He heads to his cozy sheepskin bed and I slip into my wooly Uggs. And our day begins. At the end of the day, off come the Uggs and there they sit, ready and waiting for tomorrow.

Today, share a little something you just love about autumn? Maybe it’s your Uggs too, or a favorite sweater, perhaps a cup of tea,  the harvest, warm colors, pumpkins, quiet time on a cool afternoon, sunflowers, fallen acorns. Please share your autumn lovin’ with us today.

………..

And remember that with your comment comes the chance to win a very special September gift; a $100 gift certificate courtesy of Paper Coterie in honor of the Everyday Storytellers and our One Word Project this month; story.

Me too – I love my uggs. I go from flip flops to uggs..and nothing in between. I also love the cool wetness of autumn..the muted colors..and how fun and frisky the dogs are when they play in the cooler weather:

It is so much easier for me to love summer and spring, with their warmth, long hours of light, and promise of more warmth and new life than autumn. but I am trying to learn to love more also this season and the colours of the autumn leaves are something which I have been admiring and photographing a lot in the last few years.
here it is a bit early for autumn leaves now, but I found these warm coloured ones nevertheless:

There are so many things that I love about fall, especially living in New England where the colors are spectacular! Warm sun on a cold day, bringing out my Dansko clogs and Smartwool socks, lots of soccer, soups, afternoon chai tea….

But most important for me are the traditions with the kids. This is not my favorite activity….but one that the kids get SO excited for…

I wait all year for Autumn and October is my most beloved month of the entire year.

    I especially love this:
    http://flic.kr/p/ao4Qz8

And I love watching the wind stirring the fallen leaves. Sometimes it blows so hard, it's like driving in a leaf storm. I love the change in the air, the change in the light, Canadian Thanksgiving which falls on the 10th of Oct. this year, Cranberry Fest (which is so much fun-pancake brekki, vendors, entertainment all al fresco).

Autumn (October) is also my husbands birthday (the 19th) and our wedding anniversary (the 27th-we got married on my Grandparent's 45th and this year we're celebrating 21 HAPPY years!) Hallowe'en was my Gramps' birthday so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Autumn is the season that resonates with my spirit and makes me feel joyful.
