beautiful mess

December 8, 2010 By Kristin Zecchinelli

This time of year my home is covered in snips of paper, glitter and string. Creating seems to kick into a higher gear as we decorate and make gifts for the up coming holidays. My little ones are busy with paper snowflakes, snowmen, and hand drawn nutcrakers that get taped to every window.  I am sure these will be made again this year. (oh they smell so good!)  And of course there will be baking. Cookies of all shapes, a gingerbread house, flour dust and sugar sprinkles over every surface and floor.   I like to think of it as a beautiful mess.

What are you making these days?  Are you busy sewing? knitting? decorating?

Let’s help celebrate this month’s One Word ‘beauty’, and decorate the comments today with any creations or beautiful messes you have captured lately.

To me, the classic gingerbread house speaks volumes of the season.

I have yet to get into the swing of holiday preparations, so at this point I spend a lot of time making and looking at lists. But at the top is to get this project going….a dried clementine, cranberry and cinnamon stick garland for the tree. And for even added olfactory pleasure, puncture a few cranberries with cloves. Your house will smell divine!

We've decorated the tree and mantle. I am totally procrastinating on garland but have attempted to hang some.
The kids are busy making loads of coffee filter snowflakes…and I have lots of "snow" snips all on the carpet and floor.

This year I was inspired by Miss James of Bleubird Vintage – she did all brown paper packages tied up with string for Christmas last year. So this year I have ready two rolls of kraft wrapping paper, stamps, pretty ink pads, fabric tape and metallic pens so I can fancy up each person's gift wrap individually!

I baked cookies to bring with me to the Help Portrait event I participated in, and here's the evidence: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trudem/5236118045/

    Ha!
I saw your flickr post about this happening over here today, and snapped a shot of our cinnamon-apple sauce ornaments freshly made filling the house with wonderful smells…and I see great mama minds think alike, as I now see your link posted with your photo for the same sweet creations! They are such a wonderful project to share with little ones cause they can do most of the work themselves while mama sips a coffee and breathes in the heavenly scent of cinnamon! xo

It is this mentality that guys and females who run particular internet sites are waiting for. They provide gold on purchase for fees that appear really affordable when one considers the time one must hold out the gaming to produce that same exact amount of yellow metal. It is good as lengthy since http://www.bestmonclerjackets.com/ the participant sells, trades, or buys the yellow metal within of the game. However, the institution web hosting the gaming is in no way liable once the game fanatics make an effort to purchase it from some different site. this could be not the finish off within of the story.
