Some days I need to get small, real small.
There is magic to be found in the minute details of ordinary things.
So today let’s get close, real close, and shoot some macro.
Amaze us with the details you find.
Need some inspiration? Macro May is in full swing over on flickr. Click on over and check out all the macro goodness.
Such exquisite detail here in your image.
And – I couldn’t resist getting up close with the magical light:

My post yesterday had one of my macro photographs which seemed the perfect image to go with a difficult subject matter.
I love the glow of your photograph and the mood it creates.
Mine can be found here … http://giftsofthejourney.wordpress.com/2010/05/12/when-grief-comes-without-warning/
Kristin, I love your photo, the beautiful pattern and the glow.
I use my macro lens a lot, I heart discovering the beauty in the small things.
Or flowers, as in this photo:

I am planning on hosting a "Macro" photo contest next month. This month’s contest "Life in Contrast" is still going and entries are accepted until May 23rd! Head on over to my blog to check it out. ๐
Love the soft glow of your image, it’s dream-like.
I heart my macro lens! I love when I upload the images to my computer that there’s almost always a surprise like in this photo… I could see a tiny blue dot but really couldn’t make out what that dot was until it appeared on my screen.

Lovely image. I wish I had a macro lens! Still, even without one, there is beauty to be found in the details:

how perfectly pretty.
so pretty, i’d never want to blow on this,
even if it would make a wish come true.
i posted some macros today in response to this.

Seems dandelions are popular this time of the year. Dont know what I would do without my macro lens!!
Here are some of the macros I did with a dandelion.

I’ve been using a reverse lens until I can afford my own macro, here are some of my shots ๐

I’m obessed with macro photography. I’m also obsessed with dandelion macro photography. So, I love this ๐ You can often find me crouched down in my yard, up-close and personal with the dandelions.
Can you share what camera and lens you used for the shot? Thanks ๐
this is really gorgeous, i want to dive in and feel the fluffiness.
no macro for me, so instead i cropped in tight on the lavender feathers, they would be so fun to explore with a macro.

Oh, love this! I don’t have a macro lens, but have been exploring reverse lens macro lately –

Macros are my favorite to shoot!
Here are a few of mine! I shoot mostly with extension tubes but have been playing with reversing my lens too!

I’ve come to use my macro lense for just about anything, really. But I’m absolutely incapable of walking past raindrops without taking a picture.

Ohhh so dying for a 100mm lens, for this exact reason! What a magical photo.
I love the macros but just cannot justify the cost of a macro lens. All my other lenses pay for themselves but macros are for sheer pleasure. I look forward to enjoying other people’s macros. This dandelion macro is really fabulous.
so gorgeous! love dandelions.
here’s a little friend i found hanging out on the morning glory leaves:

i shoot macro with my 60 mm lens. but do not think that that is all you can use one for. i LOVE my lens so much it stays on my camera for long periods of time. it is great for portraits as well really bringing out the details in the eyes. though i warn it is a heavy lens.
L-O-V-E the image!
Love your beautiful dandelion image. It’s so soft and dreamy and I love the tones! Here’s a macro dandelion pic of mine… (in it’s yellow stage)

your dandelion image is so beautiful – I love the crispness up front and the softness in the background
I love getting closer with my camera, and it’s always such a treat when my camera shows me more than my eyes can see. Here’s one from this evening.

i wish i had a macro lens. i think this flower would look pretty fascinating at an even closer view
