color me happy

February 25, 2010 By Kristin Zecchinelli

Colors speak through our images.  They can evoke feeling.

Red the color of passion, desire and love.

Orange the color of joy, encouragement and stimulation.

Yellow the color of sunshine, happiness and energy.

Green the color of nature, harmony and fertility.

Blue the color and sky and sea, often symbolizing truth and stability.

Purple the color of royalty, magic and creativity.

White the color of light, purity and innocence.

Black the color of power and formality.

We all have a color.  That one color that really speaks to us.  We find ourselves seeking it out through our lens. A certain shade of blue, the purity of a white palette, the pop that only red can bring.  My color is yellow.  Yellow gives me an instant pick me up and just makes me happy.  When I go back through my archives I can see that yellow gets a lot of attention.  A yellow balloon, my yellow sneakers, lots yellow flowers and of course golden sunshine.

What color speaks to you?  Show us your favorite color today.

I have been decorating a studio space my husband built for me which incorporates many of my favorite colors. This picture was taken before Christmas when there was still much to be done in the space. It is almost complete now and will be ready for its unveiling soon, but here is an earlier look at the colors that make me happy.

    TURQUOISE ๐Ÿ™‚
When I was a kid the three colours I would pick out of my felt tip pens were turquoise, chartreusse and fushia pink Of course, I didn’t call them by those names – but they were always the ones I would use over and over and they would run dry long before any other colour!!!

I see turquoise everywhere, in nature

What a wonderful post! Wishing you Happy Birthday! If it starts off with that sunny cupcake, it’s bound to be a good day!

I really do love the whole box of crayons, but if my arm is twisted, I can narrow it down to two – periwinkle and aqua. It’s a cheat, I know, because with those two colors I can get hints of the three I love the most – blue, purple and green.
