Sometimes Spring needs a little nudge from us. We whisper “melt melt!” to snow, we encourage the sun to warm up the daffodil bulbs. We crawl out from our own caves rubbing our eyes trying to see the world anew and fresh.

I recently got a macro lens and this shot was taken while I was experimenting with it for the first time. Love the idea of giving Spring a jump start, especially as it's wet and grey here today after a massive thunder and rain storm rolled through.

Today is my 55th birthday. My brother and sister-in-law got me these charming mini-daffodils as a gift. Since my thumb is anything but green, I thought I should capture them for all time since I will most likely kill them off in record time.
