He surprised us and came home early that day. We were already at the beach. She saw him and ran into his arms. Daddy’s girl in looks and spirit. I watched as he guided her over the slippery rocks. My telephoto lens afforded me a glimpse into this moment between them without disturbing it. She feeling safe by taking his strong hand, an assurance of knowing as she reached out he would be there to help her. His heart full being needed in that moment, knowing she won’t always be so small or need his hand. A connection, a touch, transference of love. Just a simple moment captured, but one that speaks to my heart and makes me ever so thankful for this thing called photography.
What connections have you captured lately? Please share one here with us all today.
Very special mother/daughter connections – expressed here in words and image:

A kind moment between my two kids. They like each other so much these days that I have to catch the photos to remind myself of that later on when they are screaming at each other:

a few moments between my fiance and i. . .
we're getting married in august and i like taking notice of those quiet moments between us in the months leading up to 'the big day'.

Beautiful, it actually brought a lump to my throat. One of the most recent connections I witnessed was a newborn calf with it's mother. It felt like such a special moment.

Makes me sad to think she won't always need his hand. I'd like to think she will. What a sweet reminder of her love for him.
I am not the most spontaneous person but I am making an effort to catch the memories as they happen naturally.
It was fun to watch my kids come together over a small mud puddle:

I loved the unspoken connection I witnessed with this shot. He was thrilled by all of the bubbles coming from the laundry…he'd grab an handful, squish them and rub them on his body. She'd smile and turn her attention back to the laundry…simple, basic, yet true.

what a wonderful moment you captured – you can see the trust in her eyes.
there was a sweetness here between a girl and her dog

this is beautiful! i love the black and white version on your blog too. ๐
two weeks ago, i did the photography for my boyfriend's cousin's wedding. it was very small, only about 15 family members in attendance, but the family is so used to me having my camera around that I was able to capture a few shots w/out them really noticing. here is my post about it. i especially love the black and white one of him looking at her right after she arrived at the altar. http://bigmariolife.blogspot.com/2011/03/max-delaney.html
I spotted this color-coordinated family at Universal Studios in California. I loved the connection!

I'm in the midst of a photographic funk, and your words are just what I needed to hear today.
I decided to dive into my archives and play with the first image that really tugged at me.
It's not a great picture – I don't think I even took it, but the connection it captures is precious beyond words.
thank you for the reminder!

I'm not sure if this really fits the bill but it's a connection of sorts between choir boys and just about all kids on field trips.

My boys are really close, and this photo captures that relationship for me.

What a beautiful moment you captured.
I captured the connection with my daughters in a series of imperfect self portraits while we danced our heads off.

Lovely post and photograph. I love photographing connections. Here are a few of my photos showing connections:
My boys: http://lainethomasphotography.wordpress.com/2011/03/22/my-boys/
My husband and youngest son and kids playing: http://lainethomasphotography.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/random-shots/
A photo I took for an assignment in class. We had to create a photo similar to the style of a photographer we admire. I picked Elliot Erwitt. He is a master of the decisive moment and also known for a sense of humor in his photography and dog portraits: http://lainethomasphotography.wordpress.com/2011/02/11/more-than-meets-the-eye/
Beautiful shot!
My nephew loves to cook. This is one of my favorite shots from last year – he is so focused on what he is doing and his little hand is right next to my sister's – sweet moment.

I'm so loving all these connections! I don't have any kiddos so I get to live vicariously through my friend's families and this is one of my fave father/daughter moments captured:

And this is the same little, but this time with Mom:

Meeting my Grandson for the first time was such a hugh blessings. The connection to his little heart was instantaneous. Fourteen months later he still rocks my world with love and joy…..and adventure.

It's so sad, my son is growing out of holding hands at 10 years old. He still instinctively grabs my hand and then gets embarrassed and lets it go. Makes me sad, but I cherish those moments all the more, knowing they are slowly disappearing. Here he is, not too long ago with my husband:

i love this. and i love moments like the one you describe.
this is one of my husband that he probably wishes i wasn't broadcasting, but oops! too late.

It's a more lively "connection" than what you have captured, but here's my take on a Saturday afternoon in my neighbourhood with a bunch of strangers:

my image is a tribute to the man who fills my every day with the living proof of our heartfelt connection. If it weren't for him, my life (and photo stream!) would be much less tender.
Aww, these are all so sweet! Recently captured my two boys playing and sleeping together:

I recently captured the special connection between my husband and our 11-month old daughter (2nd photo in post):

I also captured my daughter and puppy bonding over a game of ball:

That is such a sweet picture. Mine is from a while back, but I think it is a great capture of the connection between my kids and their cousins…

My son, Casey, has suffered with strep 3 times in 3 months. This go around he wanted to take a nap in my bed with me snuggled next to him. As he fell asleep I captured several photos of him just being still. A rare moment.

it is so difficult to capture these moments, i think, as i'm not terribly spontaneous with my shooting. i did manage to capture this one of my two little ones who, at that moment (though not at all moments!) were really loving each other.

My boys, brothers. Unexpected. The older tending to the younger because "if he fell, it would ruin his day".

what a wonderful moment captured forever, love it!
here are some photos i took recently…a series of photos of father and daughter enjoying an afternoon lunch (scroll down past the shot of her working in my garden). I love how they were eating in sync ๐

I have a few with my dogs that I've captured. We adopted litter mates; people warned us that they'd be aggressive, hard to train, and would only bond to each other. None of it true for us. But they do love each other…
