I would have to say it was our honeymoon in St. Thomas 7 years ago. The weather was perfect, the flight wasn't crazy stressful, and we actually got to relax! Something that, now having two little guys, does not happen often even when we are on vacation. LOL! I wouldn't change it for the world though. It was a great vacation then and my first time somewhere tropical. Loved it! And the cheeseburgers were awesome!
Melody says
My favorite vacation to date would have to be this year when my husband and I went to Colorado Springs and visited the Air Force Academy in 0 degree weather. So much fun!! I hope an Epiphanie:))

We're not a big vacation family, but my favorite(s) were our long weekend trips to the German Alps while we were stationed overseas with hubby's military assignments!

Australia! It was the last big vacation we did before starting a family. We bought a fancy DSLR camera ๐ for the trip to take lots of pictures – the start of my photography obsession. Sydney was just amazing. I'd love to return someday.

My favourite vacation was to Hilton Head, South Carolina. It was actually a working vacation but after my 4 hours of work each day I would hop on my rented bicycle and explore as far as I could or wander the beach picking up shells. I was in awe of all that was around me. Despite the work part of it, it was the most relaxing week of my life.
Lisa Waszkiewicz says
A weekend camping trip creek stomping and crawdad hunting with my daughter. Eating s'mores. Waking up smelling like sunshine, sweat and campfire smoke.

I've had the pleasure of visiting some wonderful countries and landmarks, from Israel to Belgium, Canada, Hawaii, San Diego, and more. They are all "favorites" for different reasons, but the vacation that stands out most significantly is my trip back "home" to New York last week. I got to spend two whole weeks with both sets of grandparents, doing absolutely nothing! We went to the park, made some incredible meals, played cards, ate sunflower seeds, took walks, ate watermelon, and reminisced. They made me forget about my "real life" of grad school, interning, and work for a couple of weeks, and I was there as a support and a shoulder for whatever ailed them. Overall – a fabulous way to start summer :o)
Sarah says
We aren't a big vacation family, we don't have the money to take our big family out on vacation…but my most favorite vacation is always going home to Buffalo. Seeing family, taking in the familiar sights, streets, food and fun that I grew up with. It always eases the ever-lasting ache of homesickness living far from where I grew up.
Heather M. says
Going to Vancouver Island with my husband last year – so awesome!
allison mcd says
My favourite vacation spot is Tofino, British Columbia, Canada … summer, fall, winter, spring – no time is a bad time for a trip to the westcoast. The beaches are long and wide ~ perfect for day long beach walks, exploring with camera in hand. Tofino (and its beaches) offer a chance to reconnect with nature ~ the wind, the rain, the sun, the waves, and especially the tides … an intense way to get grounded and totally blissed out.
Gigi says
Mine was my last trip to England with my husband. We visit there every couple of years for both work and play, and our last visit was three weeks long. London has become a home away from home for us now, so that trip was amazing. We stayed in Bloomsbury and went to all our favorite haunts, but also took many day trips, both together and separately, to places we'd never been. I love the feeling of being a traveller and an observer, rather than a tourist just passing quickly through a place. That's exactly how I felt on that trip.
Thanks for hosting this fantastic giveaway!

My favorite trip was either our honeymoon to England 5 years ago, or the now annual family vacation we take to Galveston, TX. It won't be as relaxing with all 3 kiddos this year but I can't wait!

Well, I thought I was going to drown on this vacation. It was my very first time going to Hawaii and my first time snorkeling. I never thought snorkeling in the ocean could be so overwhelming. Between trying to swim, navigate through the waters and breathe through a tube fearing a bug will fly into it, I figured I should turn around before I drown in the wonderful blue water. HA HA It was actually pretty hilarious after I was back on land. I have to say that was my favorite vacation because I will never forget that experience and laughing with my Mom over some dinner at a restaurant off the beach made up for it all.
amanda says
My favorite vacation? Probably the ones spent at my grandparent's Farm in the central valley. They've lived there for as long as I can remember, and there is nothing better than spending time there, sitting by the pool, eating grapes that they grew, and chatting with friends and family.
Amanda says
Thanksgiving 2007 was my partner Jennifer and I's very first vacation together. We stole away with our good friends to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. I can sum it up with one word, delightful.

I would have to say my favorite vacation is, still, the first time my (then) boyfriend and I went to Maui. It was my first time to go snorkeling (and I was hooked) and the first time I smelled the scent of plumeria trees. It was heaven. We loved it so much we went back for our honeymoon years later.
Isabelle says

Best vacation was our one year anniversary trip to Savannah, GA. My husband went to college there, and I had been wanting to go for ages. Savannah is so unique: incredible architecture, plenty of hospitality, and tons of artsy quirkiness that her genteel urban sister (I'm looking at YOU, Charleston) will never have.
Love the giveaway… hoping I can snag a bag!

My favorite vacation was a road trip several years back with both of my parents. In the years since, my Dad passed away and I married my Marine (and moved across the country from all of my family). Mom, Dad, and I got in the car in Louisiana and drove North toward Canada. We stayed in a different hotel every night and drove over 5,000 miles. We saw Niagara Falls, Quebec, Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia, New York City, Washington DC, and everything in between. It was such an amazing trip and I am so thankful for the memories we made.
Debra says
The best vacation I have ever been on was to London, six years ago. I had dreamed about going to England for my entire life, so every day was magical!
Tracy Little says
My husband was a sportsman (he has now retired). I remember when one day he came home after a grueling season and advised that we needed a vacation. I laughed at him and sarcastically said where to, naming the town his parents live, which to me is never a vacation.
He said no Fiji. I was beside myself, we got on the phone and rang the airlines, then organized accommodation and flew out the next morning with our children. We had a couple of his team mates over that evening for dinner, they saw our packed bags and asked what we were doing, we told them and the next minute they were booking to come along. Two days later there were 4 families sitting by the pool in Fiji. It was not about the planning it was about the dropping everything and just going, total disorganised chaos. But we made memories that will last us a lifetime.
Laura says
My favorite vacation would have to be the one I took to my senior year of college to visit my (now) husband in Taiwan, where he was studying. It was the first trip I took alone and to another country. The flight was long, but totally worth it. I had so much fun exploring, sightseeing, and practicing the little bit of Chinese I had learned. We even got to go to Orchid Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchid_Island), which is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, and so full of culture! But of course, the best part was spending the time with him. Definitely the best vacation I've had yet!

I looooved it. It was 4 days (although unfortunately with an ex-boyfriend) and I found it to be such a beautiful city! So magical and amazing to see things I'd only ever read about or seen on television.

My favorite vacation destination would have to be Maui. So much to do there but I prefer to lay on the beach, read a good book and listen to the sound of the wave crashing against the shore. So beautiful!

My favorite vacation is on a cruise boat. I will cruise just about anywhere but more often then not we find ourselves in Cabo San Lucas. Warm and beutiful. Our favorite cruise line is Carnival. I would love to be toting a epihanie bag with my nikon in it next time around. I also love yosemite, backpacking, but it is not a lazy vacation at all.
Robin says
Hawaii!!! by far – went with my family years ago and would love to go back w/the hubs and my own children!

My favourite holiday was in South Korea last year because it was probably the most spontaneous holiday I've ever booked. It was high summer, ridiculously hot and humid (especially compared to Finland), I had a huge back pack (that was falling to pieces after those two weeks) and yet it was the best holiday of my life! Perhaps that was just my frame of mind, nothing could ruin my holiday.
Michelle Sheldon says
My favorite vacation was to Puerto Rico. My hubby had been working there on and off for a few months . . . so he knew all the best places to see (not to mention the best spots to eat!). We had a blast and would like to move there one day. ๐

My favorite vacation was to Aruba and Curacao in 2008, after a very hectic year, where I lost my father in-law, this was heaven on earth, where we could relax, and reflect on his life, with my husband, who lost his dad… a vacation I will never forget…

So I'll throw in my name and keep my fingers crossed to be so lucky!
My favorite vacation to date was the summer my partner and I took 2 months to drive across Canada and back to see our amazing country and people. We got to visit family along the way, be part of my best friend's wedding and spent almost every night in our tent camping along the way.. it was the best! Just wish I had that fancy camera with me at the time… the next trip!
Thanks for the chance!

My favourite vacation.. I think, I hope, I plan that it's going to be this summer's vacation. We are going to a little house in the middle of a forest, near an estate where they ecologically grow vegetables. We can use the vegetables we need, there is a large stone oven to bake our bread and pizzas and for the rest there is almost nothing. And that's what we are looking forward to. Just the five of us, waking up, building tree houses, play in water and dirt and do absolutely, blissfully, wonderfully nothing. I can't wait.
What a great and generous giveaway!

The most recent always. Actually, we rarely take proper vacations, so this may be one of the few real vacations. We got back a couple of weeks ago from Italy. We were there for my husband's work, but prior to work, there was a little play. We visited the Italian and French Alps before returning via Cinque Terre to Florence. Spectacular. My favourite holiday was my most recent one. It was with Mum and Dad and little brother. We didn't go anywhere fancy, just the Algarve, in Portugal (where I'm from), but the chance to have a family holiday as an holiday… oh my… it was just perfect to be able to spend so much time with Mum and Dad and my brother away from real life.

My favorite vacation would have to be my honeymoon to San Francisco. We live in Maine and didn't have enough money for our dream trip to Italy, so we decided to go out to the West Coast. Had a fabulous time exploring in the city and took lots of day trips. Spent time in Muir Woods, which was breathtaking, and enjoyed sunny afternoons touring wineries in Napa and Sonoma. Such an incredibly fun trip for my husband and I that we almost wanted to move there. Lots of great memories. Thanks for the chance to win.

My husband and I do not live near our families so our vacations usually involve traveling to visit them. But a few years ago we took our 2 kids and went on first actual family vacation to Savannah GA and the GA beach. Just the 4 of us for a whole week. Such a precious memory.
Loreena says
My unforgettable, most FAVOURITE vacation EVER……. was a 3 week long camping trip through Central Australia. Our kids were much younger and they don't remember much of it and I'd love to do it all again, only longer next time, maybe even for a year touring this amazing country!! We got to visit Uluru, see the most AMAZING waterfalls, wetlands, aboriginal culture experiences, super awesome wildlife, see the desert, salt lakes, drive for hundreds of kilometres between towns that consisted of a couple of houses and a pub and general store! MAN I wish I knew then what I know now about photography! I've always wanted to travel overseas and before kids we even booked a trip to the US but circumstances meant we couldn't go, but I swear, I am now determined to see as much of Australia as I can before we travel elsewhere, because we're blessed with awesome awesome nature here, and most of the remote places are the most awesome ๐

Every holiday is my favorite holiday. Last month, Iโve spent 3 weeks with my mom and my daughter (1) in a small village in Poland. This was such an amazing time โ no internet, no mobile connection, no TV, just the three of us, spending time together, talking, playing, walking through these amazing forests, listening to the birds singing. But most of all โ the fact that we could spend this time together and really enjoy our company ๐

Everywhere we went, I was armed with my Canon Rebel T3i, but also with a quite unattractive camera bag. I love the Epiphanie bags!!! Someday I hope to tote my DSLR in one. Till then, I'll look at this photo and remember the beautiful landscape of the Miami beach.

By far my favorite vacations happened after kids. Before they were very romantic or adventurous but since they fill me with so much inner joy. Seeing things through their eyes and reliving my childhood with the goofy things they want to do is the best! My husband travels most of the year but one week in September we head to Topsail Island and relax. We stay on the ocean so it is the first thing we hear in the morning and last thing before we go to bed. The girls seem to get a long better, my husband and I reconnect, and the icing on the cake is we all enjoy sand castle building and shark tooth hunting which is abundant for some reason in that area. In fact we just booked our vacation yesterday for this year. I.can't.wait! Thanks for the chance to win la la la la LOLA – awesome!

Last summer my husband and I flew to San Fran, rented a car and headed north up the coast. We have started going every year to Grayton Beach, Florida for spring break. In the past, I have never thought of myself as a 'beach' person, but we have so much fun and my kids are so happy for the week we are there. I think I like it best because it is the one vacation that is just for our little family of four. . . summers are usually filled with visiting extended family since we do not live near relatives.

Difficult to pick just one favourite but if pressed I'd have to say Italy. After living there for a number of years and travelling the country north-south, east-west, I didn't find a place that I would not like to return to! History, culture, food and wine…what's not to like!!

I would have to say my favorite vacation was many years ago, but I had an Epiphanie during the trip. My boyfriend, now husband and I had planned to take a week off to celebrate my birthday and just hang out. We didn't have a destination in mind just sort of get in the car and go – then at the last minute he let's his supervisors talk him into working a few extra days thus cutting our week short. I was not at all pleased but we finally got in the car and drove to Huron, Ohio which is only about an hour or so from our home, found a quaint hotel and enjoyed a wonderful long weekend. We took the ferry to Put-in-Bay rode bicycles, visited wineries and caves. Most importantly we enjoyed one another, so the best laid plans are not always the best – my Epiphanie!

It is quite possible that my favorite vacation is the last one I took. I love to travel and explore new places (or new parts of old familiars). If you're looking for locations, here's a list: I have a serious crush on Paris, consider Vienna almost a second home, am in awe of Turkey, and long to return to Sitka, AK. But a weekend spent knitting on the porch of a great B&B in Duluth was perhaps the most restful short trip getaway I've taken.

Last fall, hubby and I took a vacation to Las Vegas – our first trip in 10 years. We met up with his brother and sister-in-law and had the best time imaginable. I'd venture that the old adage of it being all about the gambling is crumbling because that was what we did the least of.

We're pretty simple. A few days in San Diego at the Paradise Point Resort is like escaping to another world for a short while. Taking a boat out on the bay, laying around on the beaches, and having a fancy drink while the kids play in the pool are our favorite activities. The kids have already been talking about when we will be going this summer.

Last year, I went to Jordan, Israel, and Palestine with a group of young adults from my church. We were there for two weeks, and it was incredible to take in the sights, sounds, smells, and flavors of the Middle East…not to mention experience the hospitality offered to us. My camera got such a work out, and whenever I see the photos, I feel like I'm transported back.

One summer on our usual beach trip I brought along plaster — we made hand and foot print molds with sand on the beach — mixed the plaster with ocean water and let them sit in the sun to harden. The hands decorate the wall in our breakfast room today. When we finished — we still had a bit of plaster left over — so I gave it to another mom on the beach with her toddler and showed her how to do the molds and mix.

I was just telling a friend about my favorite vacation! The year I turned 26 I lived in London and went to drama school. My ex-boyfriend came over at the end of my year to do a summer program and then we traveled around the UK for 3 weeks. It was fantastic to have the pressure of our hideous failed relationship off but be able to travel as a team who worked well together. When we landed in Ireland we suddenly felt overwhelmed and sick of traveling and everything associated with it. So we found a place to stay and took a vacation from our vacation. No historical sights for us, no souvenir shopping, no trekking to one last wonder of the world. We went to the movie theatre for a matinee of Judge Dredd then went back to the dorm we were renting and made spaghetti and watched Hoffa on TV. It's one of my favorite, though not terribly classy, memories.
Lou says
I have been so very fortunate to travel the world . I have to say my favorite vacation was when I lived in the UK. My husband had been away alot that year due to work commitments. My boys were very young at the time 3 yrs and 5 months. We rented a cottage in Dorset over the summer which was in a field full of cows which were giving birth on a daily basis. It was wonderful to see it all from the garden and to be so close. A wonderful experience for us all and one of the best vacations..

A couple of years ago we took our kids to the Oregon coast. It was their first time seeing the ocean, and thankfully I was able to capture the moment in photos! Some of my all-time favorites. Favorite vacation has to be Little Gasparilla, Florida. You have to take a ferry to get to the island. There's no cars or stores, just 3 miles of beach. You put your luggage in a wheel barrow and role it to your condo for total bliss! As I lay in my hammock rocking back and forth listening to the water, I'm open to any and all epiphanies that come my way!

My husband and I visited Old Orchard Beach, Maine in the fall of 2003. It was after high season and we were staying at a cottage right on the beach. First of all I know the guy who owns the house so it was free! Second, we have always had an infatuation with New England and staying on the ocean was just a bonus as far as we were concerned. Lastly, I had just found out I was pregnant and we were the only two who knew. It remains my very favorite vacation!! EVER!

By far, my favorite destination is the beach. It is my one true happy place! The go to beach places for me are Delaware beaches; Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth or Dewey. Just sitting on the beach, with lots of sunscreen, under an umbrella (cause I fry in the sun), tunes and/or a good book in hand! Relaxing is what this trip is all about! There is a reason I had my wedding on the beach! Toes in sand = Happy!

Summer of 2005. Picture this: 4 kids (ages 11 to 22 months), 2 parents (and I was pregnant with baby 5 but no-body else knew that), 1 incredibly stuffed van that gave new meaning to the word "mini", and a 10 day road trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone NP. Only 1 argument the whole time and it was over a package of Red-Vines on the way home. We saw buffalo, moose, trumpeter swans, bald eagles and a host of other amazing things! To this day, the kids still talk about our amazing trip and how much they want to go back. When we recently gave them the choice of Disneyland or Yellowstone they all said very emphatically, "Yellowstone!" , including child 5 who doesn't remember a thing ; ) We plan on returning next spring and we can't wait!

I think that one of the best vacationing places would have to be the country side in Ireland. It has one of the most glorious sites, lovely bed-n-breakfast, and terribly amazing company! It has a lovely atmosphere everywhere you look, whether it be cows walking across the road, little mini cars on small roads, cobble streets, cottages, and fields full of livestock! The greenery is outstanding, and would most likely be the ideal place to vacation! That is, if you're into the country side! =)

My favorite was my wedding and honeymoon in Kona, Hawaii. Just the two of us – and a green sea turtle – barefoot on the beach at sunset for our vows. Each night meant falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and in the mornings fresh Kona coffee and the sweetest mangoes I've ever had. We alternated lazy days on the lanai with adventures; swam with wild dolphins and giant manta-rays, hiked on Kilauea, visited a bunch of waterfalls, ate sugar cane right out of the field, so many amazing memories. I bought my DSLR (my first!) right before this and named her Pele after the Hawaiian volcano goddess since this was her first of many trips.

Have to say that my favourite vacation was when I went to Italy for a shamanic workshop with Hank Wesselman (http://www.sharedwisdom.com/). A week at a villa with side trips to two different types of Etruscan tombs and also seeing Venice and Rome followed by a week tour of Greece was spectacular.
I was able to finally see the Lion Gate of Mycenae and peer over the same vista as Agamenmon! I also visited Crete and Santorini as well as some of the smaller islands to peruse ancient ruins that I had read about in my youth.
Traveling alone was very comforting and I met a lot of really nice people during my vacation. It was so nice to finally take a chance and explore!

The year was 2005 and my beloved husband was deployed to Iraq with the Marines. I missed him and was working a menial job to pass the time. Meanwhile my best friend had been at her first duty station with the Coast Guard long enough that she'd finally gotten an apartment. So when she called and asked if I'd like to help her drive up the West Coast from Phoenix, AZ to Seattle, WA, how could I say no? That trip had a little of everything, stopping to see friends, seeing the sights, blasting music as we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, laughing late at night in random motels and the beauty of driving up the Pacific Coast Highway. And I fell in love with Seattle on that trip, so much so that we moved here when my husband was discharged from the Marine Corps.
Thanks for an opportunity to share a great memory. And what a great contest – I love Epiphanie!

prior to having a family of six, my favorite vacation would have been hands down my visit to fiji for our honeymoon. but now? even the smallest road trips take on a new sense of adventure with three three year olds and a fifteen year old. we went to chicago a couple of summers ago + just enjoyed the city for a day. walked to the beach, wandered through parks, ate outdoors. we didn't' have much to spend on activities or room + board, so we stayed in my sister's boyfriends one bedroom apartment + crammed into the one room. we packed food and ate what we brought for the most part…but we made the most of our visit + love every moment.

Favorite vacay–My husband, son and I went to the Dominican republic in 2005. This was before our second child and we were so relaxed. We vegetated on the shores of Punta Cana, only to get up and walk to the bar to get a pina colada or waive someone down for a Presidente–everyonce in a while we rolled over. We returned to hectic NYC a golden brown color, well rested, and relaxed–that was 6 years ago:) I could use another long beach vacation again and once I get it, I will even debate rolling over (too much work)–I just need to stay horizontal for a week straight:)

My favourite vacation was one that we just took a few months ago to North Redington Beach, Florida. It was our first vacation as a family of 5 (our kids were 4 1/2, 20m and 4m) and yes…we DROVE from Ontario to Florida! Although it was hectic at times (our 20m old doesn't speak a lot…screams more than anything and there were quite a few times where I had to nurse the baby while hanging over her carseat. lol!), it was truly a great time of relaxing with the family. My mother-in-law and her sister met us down there and were a great help with the kids, even allowing my husband and I some time out to ourselves. We also had the opportunity to visit my husband's great aunt who recently turned 90 and had not yet met our youngest 2 children. The place that we stayed at down there was top notch too! Here's the link: http://www.parkcircle.com/beachhouse.htm We HIGHLY recommend this place! The breakfasts each morning were absolutely incredible and the personal service was just perfect! We hope to go back soon!

Well my favorite "vacation" was actually part of my study abroad in college. I studied in Australia and traveled almost every weekend for the 4 months I was there. As a pre-semester trip we spent 4 days in Fiji and then at the end of the semester we took a week vacation to New Zealand, which is definitely one of the most beautiful places on earth :o) The entire 4 months was like one big vacation!

My favorite vacation was our one year anniversary trip to Ashland, Oregon. We had been there the previous year on out honeymoon and loved it so much, we decided to go back. We saw three shows: Twelfth Night, The IMportance of Being Earnest and UP. We had great food, walked around, took photos I will always cherish and had a "Benson" tv marathon in our room. This was the vacation we decided it was time to take our doctor's advice and start fertility treatments – so there was this feeling that we were about to start another big chapter in our lives. We said we'd go back every year to celebrate, but 6 years (this Saturday) and two babies later, we haven't gotten back. I think if I win, I might just say it's time to plan another Ashland trip! ๐

When my husband got his first "adult" job, he surprised me with a trip to Paris. We were still a couple of kids staying in cheap hotels in suspicious parts of town, but it felt totally romantic to us. I wouldn't trade the memory for all the five star resorts in the world.

My favorite vacation was our last trip to Disney in 2010…kids were 14,10, and 8….first time with no strollers..and minimal whining. ๐ Plus the best part was that we were all tall enough to ride all the rides together as a family for once. We had a blast.

Definitely my honeymoon. We traveled to Napa Valley, California and spent a week drinking, eating, sight-seeing, being completely lazy… and a few other things ๐ My favorite memory is renting a 2-person bike (called a tandem) from the Calistoga bike shop and doing a wine tour. The tour includes a total of 6 wineries. By their estimation, 4 stops is the average that most tourists make. I'm proud to say my husband I did 5. Needless to say, we spent the rest of the night soaking up the wine with pasta while lounging in front of the TV. I don't recommend tipsy-tandem bike rides, but it sure was a day I'll never forget!
I'd never been to this beautiful part of the country before, I was a photographer gone a muck with my simple point-and-shoot Canon. Having just purchased a Nikon d3100 yesterday, I'm looking forward to returning to Napa this August and taking some breathtaking shots!

I would say my favorite vacation was one I went on with my family when I was about 16 years old. There were 2 adults (the parents) and 7 kids, making for a total of 9 people! We had a big family so we ended up taking two cars, one which I drove. We toured west Texas spending a day or two In New Braunfels, Austin, and San Antonio with a few pit stops along the way. Finding hotels was a disaster, keeping up with two cars in traffic was a nightmare, getting everyone to agree on what to do and where to eat was ab act of God, and getting that many people ready and loaded at a certain time was a miracle! My family now refers to it as "the vacation from hell", but it was one of my favorites. When we all get together we always talk about dads crazy driving and fighting over who got to ride in which car. We made so many memories on that trip and I wouldnt trade it for anything.

Yes, give it up for St. Thomas! My favorite vacation was this past January in St. Thomas with 15 of my friends. It was not a traditional vacation because we all went down to spread the ashes of a lost loved one. Magen's Bay was where he lived for several years and it was his favorite fishing spot. We all rented out an exclusive villa, The Sand Dollar, with a maid and chef staff, private beach, gym and all that good stuff! This was a place that our friend had hoped to stay at for years so we decided that we would all go and have an awesome time in his name. And we did! We all spent a week together in the same house, getting to know one another and building friendships that will now last a lifetime. On the last day we chartered a boat that took us to Virgin Gorda, snorkeling at The Indians, Sandy Spit (an island so small that you can throw a football accross!) Wet Willies (a barge that you can hook your boat up to, climb up on and have awesome seafood!) and finally back to Megan's Bay where one of the girls sang a beautiful melody as we spread the ashes back into the ocean. On the way back we back spotted dolphins. The captain said that he had spent his whole life on that water and had never seen them there before and decided to follow them. As we rode out more and more dolphins started coming up along the boat and when we stopped, they circled around us for a few minutes and swam off! It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen and we were all left wondering if it had been a sign from our dear friend. We laughed and cried the whole way back as the sun came down through pink and orange skies. It really was magical!
RIP Joe, we love and miss you <3

My favorite vacation was my honeymoon. My husband worked for an RV dealership and they let us take a brand new motorhome out. We traveled around southwest Colorado and it was the MOST relaxing vacation ever. We would stay if we wanted, leave whenever we wanted, and we only used a clock one morning (to get up super early to go fishing). There were not schedules, time frames, nothing. It was glorious!! ๐

My favorite vacation was to Disney World when my daughter who is now thirteen years old was five. Even though we have vacationed at Disney World three times over the years, the vacation when she was five was the best because she believed all the characters were real and was in complete amazement of Disney World. Especially now that she is thirteen, her father and I realize that innocence and excitement can never again be replicated and was purely magical.

3 years ago I had had a very rough previous year. I decided that although I was married with kids, I needed to take just myself on vacation and visit some girlfriends. I'm from northern California and a friend had moved to Southern California and another had moved to Kona, HI. These were two beautiful places to visit…I had an absolute blast visiting my two girlfriends, lots of shopping, lots of pictures…now i'm saving to repeat that trip again!

My favorite vacation was in the south island of New Zealand. There is nothing better than to be right next to the southern alps, have mother earth all around you, taking in the splendor of it all. There is nobody around and you feel like you have all the grand nature all to yourself, yet you're being humbled by it's grandeur, it's history, feeling so small as a human being. Needless to say, I'd definitely consider going back there again if I had the chance.

My favorite vacation was last year's two week vacation in Hawaii. The first week I was with my husband, my son and his girlfriend. We toured every nook and cranny in the island. The 2nd week, my 2 daughters and their families joined us. Thereafter, it was always "Table for Ten, Please" !! We frolicked in the ocean with the two little kids and spent a lot of quality time together. As a photographer, the sunsets provided me with a lot of spectacular shoots and so did the beach. I came home with a full 32GB memory card all shot in RAW.

When I think of favorite vacation I do remember the grand ones but the ones that touch my soul are what I think of as "soul" cations. Those times when I escape with my camera and look at the small, nuances of life. Those everyday things that others over look. As I become lost in the grandness of the small things I slip away from life's madness and hectic pace in order for my soul to rest and recharge. Those moments are found in the rain dripping down a chain, or shooting leaves or waves, or a small child. Yes the soul-cations are for me just as grand as any "big" vacation.

I'm torn. My favourite holidays so far have all been with my husband. Our first trip to Kauai was our first trip together – we discovered so much magic there, returned again and again, and then we were married there. Our first road trip was to Southern Utah, to visit Zion and Bryce Canyons. We learned much about how we travel together on that trip, every sight awed and amazed us – it remains one of my favourite trips ever. And in a couple of weeks, our daughter will graduate from high school, and she and I will make a trip to Greece. Neither of us have been to Europe, and we are eagerly anticipating this time together before she goes to college. I suspect that trip will join my favourites.

I would have to say that my favourite vacation was the one my husband and I took 20 years ago, for our very first wedding anniversary to Europe! We got to see most of Germany, France and Poland where my husband wanted to visit his ancestor's home-stead! We had a great time together just the two of us! We rented a car, got a good printed map (no GPS back then!) and away we went! It was unforgettable! Hoping to repeat it for our 25th! Hopefully, we'll see!

Next up for the older one is Paris. She has been taking French in school and three years running, A's so a reward and she can help me communicate. New memories.

My favourite vacation ever so far has been a roadtrip from Ottawa in Canada to Boston, MA all in one night, nothing was overly planned, we had maps, hot spots and we hoped on a boat cruise to see whales, visited the pier, all under a very warm sun (a bit too warm at times). After MANY hours of driving (8hrs straight from Ottawa) and walking around Boston all day (we arrived at 9am in traffic hour), we stopped in Manchester to sleep a few hours and get back on the road for a visit of pretty much any cute village in NH and a hike in the White Mountains. Hiked in there all afternoon to then go back to Canada, almost 2,500 km later ๐ All of this, obviously with the camera under my arm ๐ good times!!

The next week we spent on Cape Cod, visiting lighthouses, beaches and going whale watching out of Provincetown, where we saw 11 humpback whales swimming all around our boat! We ate Lobster almost every day of the vacation! What a blast that was!

My favorite trip was taking my husband to the Big Island of Hawaii for the first time during our honeymoon. I had lived there for 4 years before I met him and it was so special to show him where I lived, worked and to introduce him to the wonderful friends I met during my time in Hawaii. It gave him a chance to get to know me better and I had the opportunity to share a place I love with the man I love!

My favourite vacation to date was our family trip to the Sunshine Coast in beautiful British Columbia last summer. I love the fact that there are so many clean and clear WARM lakes to swim in. The ocean isn't that bad to swim in either.

My husband is active duty army and rarely gets time off to speak of, so we have never had a "real" vacation until this past March when he came home on R&R from his 6th deployment. His mom watched our son for us and we had a few days to get away to Santa Fe, NM together. We rented a little house on the mountain, slept by the fire each night, stuffed ourselves silly at the best restaurants we've ever been to, and even went skiing together for the first time. I couldn't have imagined a more romantic, peaceful time with my husband. I know its simple, but I smile every time I think about it. ๐

My favorite vacation would definitely have to be to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I went after graduating high school as a last family trip. Whale watching, landscapes that look like they're right out of a painting, the cold atlantic, highlands behind our cottage, Acadian cuisine, fresh caught fish, magnificent sunsets, eerie fog, armored beaches. It was absolute bliss. Even after traveling to 18 countries in the past few years, Cape Breton is still my reigning champion.

I'm pretty fortunate in that both my family and my husband's family travel at least once a year to fabulous places and we usually get invited to tag along. My most recent favorite vacation though would have to be our trip to Grand Cayman with my parents last September. It really was a disaster of a vacation – we were there in the middle of a huge tropical storm and barely stepped foot on any of Cayman's gorgeous beaches. It was, however, a wonderful chance to spend time with my family, take some incredible photos and explore parts of the island that, had we been lazing at the beach all week, probably never would have found. It's one of those vacations some would say was a complete bust but I'll tuck it away in my memory as a trip of a lifetime! And if I ever forget I have some great pix to remember! :o)

My favourite holiday is always a trip to Tobago in the W.I. Blue skies, amazing views and food.

It's been six years, but for me, it's still San Antonio, Texas. The place is gorgeous at night along the RiverWalk. El Mercado had TONS of fun things to see and the best sweet treats. Driving in the car with my four year old hearing him every five minutes "saying mommy are we there yet" we are on our way to grandmas house you could see the excitement on his little face. Family Vacations are things i will never forget kids these day grow up way to fast we spent the weekend fishing off the dock and checking little Minos and he was the happiest little boy Iโve ever seen sitting by the camp fire and roasting marshmallows and catching fireflies those little things are the simple things in life that will stay with us forever. that trip was one that brought joy to everyone it brought out the inner child in us all and cant wait to go back again. The easy answer for me would be our trip to Costa Rica for our wedding. It was obviously such an overwhelming time in our lives and I hold unforgettable memories from our trips to that country. But, I think one of my favorite trips ever was actually to Door County WI (which also happens to be our engagement trip). Such a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The towns are adorable, the fall color is breathtaking and the waters edge is different at every point along the peninsula! I'm hoping we can go back some time soon! It's one of my favorite places in the world.

My favorite vacation was when I went to visit some friends in Germany for two weeks in 2004. I would have to say that my favorite vacation was actually a staycation. We just went to another part of Oahu, Hawaii when my daughter was born. We just returned from a four-day trip to Colorado, where I really went "outside the box" and hiked up to a glacier, hiked up mountains, and said, "yes, let's try that" instead of "that's not my thing." I also had some beautiful shots of mountains, foxes, chipmunks……very memorable.

My favorite vacation is probably the short getaway my husband and I just shared to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. ๐ We went back to Nashville, Indiana, where we spent our first honeymoon as young, broke newlyweds. We hadn't been there in 15 years and it has definitely changed from being a quiet artists' colony to more of a shopping attraction. The thing I loved so much about the trip is our realization that the only things we remembered about the place were those things we had taken pictures of on our honeymoon. The one place that we remembered without the aid of those photos was a little pizza joint that had been next to a pretty little white gazebo…which had been bulldozed down (literally) the day before we arrived! It was a neat reminder of the importance that photography has in all of our lives, and why we do it in the first place. Without it, our memories, even those of remarkable events and even more remarkable people, can easily fade. Photography makes those people and events live on for ages to come. ๐

The most fun we have had in a long time. My youngest was struck by a car 9/11/09 and has been suffering physically and emotionally. This year we took him back to Florida. We did a Segway(a self-balancing personal transportation device with two wheels; can operate in any level pedestrian environment.) tour in Delray, a boat tour in Miami, went to Key west and had a lot of fun on the beach in the sand and in the water. He was glowing, and it made my heart rejoice. So thankful to have this time with him and he turned 16 while we were on our way home. What perfect weather too.

Many years ago my husband and I met our daughter and her husband in Reno, Nevada. I had such a great time taking photos of them in various spots around the area in the Gardnerville area near some large sycamore trees sharing their Autumn Splendor. My first vacation after having a baby was the most superb. It was in Naples, Florida. I had a better appreciation of life, love, & ALONE TIME!!! That was almost 5 years ago & I look forward to a new type of vacation…the kind WITH kids. ๐

My favorite vacation has got to be anytime we're camping. I know it's weird, but I love letting the kids get filthy dirty and play and explore all day. 3 GENERATIONS OF SISTERS!!!. my favorite vacation was this last Fall. I took a cruise to the New England states and Canada with my family. My mom and her sister, me and my sister and my two daughters. We had a great time. We saw the sites in Maine, Massachusettes, Martha's Vineyard, Halifax, Nova Scotia and St, John New Brunswick. It was 11 days of adventure. From half of our party(my sister, daughters and myself) getting stranded at JFK international during a storm, to being stuck in the pouring rain in Boston waiting on the train that was an hour late. it was great. I love the East Coast in the Fall and it was beautiful. I'd have to say, my favorite was staying in a little cottage hotel in Cape Cod at the back end of our trip. We spent the day on Martha's Vineyard, just walking, sightseeing and enjoying each others company. it was for sure a once in a lifetime trip.

A summer vacation tradition our family started four years ago is to paddle our two kayaks and canoe out to a remote island on Umbagog Lake in Northern New Hampshire. We camp for little over a week. We do not have the opportunity to travel much as we often spend our time off visiting family in different states. However, one of my favorite vacations is an annual trip I make with friends to a small northern Wisconsin town for the July 4 weekend. It is this beautiful place with a lake surrounded by great little cabins. We visit local restaurants, run an annual 5K race, shop at these adorable small antique stores, and enjoy a true small town 4th of July parade. It is great to step away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for a few days and just enjoy the simple things.

i'd have to say that any of our vacations to Lanai, Hawaii, qualify for a favorite. the most special trip was our first there, for our honeymoon, but the best experience was a few years ago when we got to dine at the Ocean Hale at the Four Seasons Manele Bay — they essentially bring an entire living room outdoors (it's set up in an open air cabana), cliffside, overlooking the beautiful Manele Bay and a jacketed waiter serves you course by course. sigh…wish we could go back!

Favorite was this past weekend…staycation with the hubby…our first time away from our children (they spent the holiday weekend with my in-laws) since we brought them home 4.5 years ago. I've been to a lot of exotic locales in my pre-kid days, but I find of late, that there really is no place like home with The Hubs.
It was DELIGHTFUL. We ate lots of weird food and stayed up late and slept in and hiked and watched movies really loud without the subtitles on, and well, lots of other fun things, *cough*.
And? I enjoyed the sensation of missing my children. ๐

My most memorable vacation was at Maui, Hawaii for our wedding. We spent the first week lodged in a big house in the mountains with friends and family. We took a boat out to Molokini island for scuba diving, we went horseback riding down into an extinct volcano crater, went hiking to remote waterfalls around toured along the Hana highway. It was wonderful to relax with our closest friends and family before the big day. Our wedding in Waiilea on a golf course with sweeping views of the coastline was magnificent. The following week we honeymooned at a beach resort blissful and vowing to return again. It was truly a magical vacation and a trip of a lifetime!

My favorite vacation was to Bar Harbor, Maine. My husband had unexpectantly just lost his job the day prior, so we were very hesitant to go. But we did. It was a long drive from Pa, but it gave us alot of time to think, plan, and unwind. I will never forget how beautiful and peaceful it was there. Acadia National Park should be on everyone's "have to go to" vacation spot! I am so happy that we had went! I have so many found memories, like yelling out the window and "calling" for moose, we never saw any but we had a blast yelling for them to come out of the woods!

Favorite vacation ever was a 10 day beach house rental on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Nothing but kicking back, reading, taking pictures, having fun, splashing around with friends and family. Fun.

Several years ago my husband and I went on a carribbean cruise. It was our first cruise and it was incredible! The places we saw were so beautiful. It was one of the only times in my life I felt totally relaxed. I hope one day we'll be able to go on another cruise but in the meantime I have tons of photos and happy memories to look at and relive our great vacation.

I have a new favorite vacation every year when our family goes camping. As soon as school is out we all look forward to a quiet week in the pine-scented air watching outdoor movies, playing in the lake, tubing, kayaking, fishing, eating amazing food, roasting smores, and playing games as a family. Since we haven't gone yet this year, last years camping trip is my favorite!

My favorite vacation was a trip that we took to the Outer Banks in NC. My loving nephew paid for the house for all of us to stay in. There was 23 of us from our family all in one house. The house was located right on the beach and had a private pool. Each room had its own bathroom attached so there was a feeling of privacy for each couple or person in the room. It was living in the lap of luxury and I pretty sure that I will never have a chance to have a vacation again that was that relaxing and enjoyable with my family. Thank you so much Esteban for the vacation of a lifetime.

My favorite vacation is to San Clemente, California. We try to go every year. San Clemente is a sleepy little beach town in Orange County. When you think of old school surf city (like the Beach Boys sing about), this is it. It is an enjoyable week of family, friends, food, and of course, the magnificent Pacific Ocean.

My favorite vacation was to Acadia National Park. It was AMAZING!!! The park has the best of both worlds – mountains and ocean. The bike trails were old carriage roads, and we had a blast riding through the park. We also took a mail boat to a small island and stayed at a cozy bed and breakfast for a few days!

My favorite vacation is the one I am on right now!!! Every vacation is a treat. I love to travel and take pictures, scrapbook them with my scrapbook paper ho's and then go back and look at the albums later. We just left Yellowstone where it snowed for 4 days. Saw bison with babies (so cute!), black bear, grizzlies with babies, pelicans, coyotes, elk, and more bison. Now we are in Seattle where we have a view of the canal from our window. Great sites with opportunities to take photos every day. I am blessed to be able to travel and spend time with my family. And it would be even better if I had a great Epiphanie bag to hold all of my gear. I love your bags!!!!

My favourite vacation was to Istanbul where I was invited to a traditional Turkish wedding. We had to drive to a tiny village 200 km away to pick up the bride who had never seen her husband before. Being from Germany and raised by very modern standards quite strange to me. His mother had arranged the wedding. We took her back to Istanbul and the celebrations went on for one week including a visit to a hairdresser for all female guests together with the bride on the day of the vowels. We had our hair done, our makeup, our nails and all in all had more fun there than on the other days of the wedding. Quite an experience that I will never forget.

Our favorite family vacation was when we all went to the jungle of Peru to serve and build for the beautiful physically-challenged folks of Refugio de Esperanza (Refuge of Hope). Beautiful country. Warm people. Changed lives–mostly ours!

It was a sunny day with clear crisp air. The mountains were filled with little nestlings and sweet aroma of ripened fruits- just another ordinary morning of the townsfolk of Puli, Taiwan. Geographically situated at the heart of Taiwan, I had a chance to experience the very simple ways of homestay because my Taiwanese friend bumped into her godfather while we were busy shopping along the streets of Taipei. Everything was basic and being away from 'technology' was the best part except the fact that I didn't have my google translator with me for having poor verbal Chinese language. Communication constantly broke down on me but Taiwanese people are so friendly there's no need to panic. Best vacation ever!

My favourite holiday destination (and one of very few, first and only overseas) was Pitumarca in Peru! or Peru in general! I travelled there several years ago to visit my aunt who was working with people in a tiny town in Pitumarca, helping them knit scarves etc. to make money. There was a fantastic, bright and exciting festival when I was there….we couldn't sleep for the noise, there was colour, there was dancing, there was drinking…so much fun! I couldn't believe my luck at being in such a vibrant community, that when I had entered, seemed poor and people seemed without so much. I learnt so much from the people I met when I stayed there, precious time with my aunt and was privileged to spend time in a community that, had I visited myself, would never have visited while in Peru.

Costa Rica, this past November 2010. Met up with my fiance who was there shooting a travel show and we stayed on after he wrapped. We love northern California-the fog in the morning, the sun in the afternoons. The tall pines, the Pacific. My favorite vacation this year was BRAZIL! I went with my hubby, and we met two of my girl friends who traveled down there several days before us. We not only visited the famous Copacabana beach in Rio di Janiero, but we made a side trip to Salvador da Bahia, home of Afro-Brazilian culture. The people, the music, and the food were amazing! We bought a painting that hangs in our living room and reminds us every day of our true adventure!

Going back "home" to the Maritimes, renting a cottage, sinking my toes in the sand and realizing that I can finally breathe. The ocean air so fresh, so pure and so alive – I can't help but feel healthy, alive, at peace, and, at home. Watching my 2 girls run around in the sand, screaming and waving their arms in the air when they spot a jellyfish or a crab on the beach. Seeing my husband relax and start acting like a kid again, remembering the summer's spent at the beach as a little boy. That is my favorite vacation!

After a very stressful year of classes, I flew out West with my parents for a two week roadtrip last summer. Our first day was eventful, to say the least. Our rental car broke down and we had to wait 5 hours for a new one. By the time we set out again, dusk was approaching. Soon, there was a downpour as we drove down an open road, surrounded for miles and miles by land. Every time the storm picked up, you could see bolts of lightning illuminate the sky. It was scary, yet beautiful. We travelled through San Antonio, Texas by boat and had some of the most delicious Spanish food and margaritas. Then, we went on to the Grand Canyon and Tlaquepaque, a lovely artist's village in Arizona which my aunt painted a scene from. The most scenic place was by far Monument Valley, as we rode the bumpy, unpaved paths to incredible natural formations, guided by a Navajo tribe member. From there, we had the opportunity to view wildlife in Yellowstone (so many buffalo – they stopped traffic!) and rode horses and rafted through the gorgeous park. We ended our trip by seeing a rodeo in Wyoming as well as seeing sculpture and a skiing town (off season) in Colorado. It was a wonderful trip that I will remember forever. My family bonded along our journey, travelling almost 5,000 miles by car through some of the most breathtaking places in our nation. Even though I took many pictures, it was so difficult to capture the magnificence of the places we went. I love to travel and have been fortunate to have the opportunity to do so. I look forward to many more adventures!

My favorite vacation was probably my honeymoon. It was nothing fancy, just a simple trip to San Antonio, but it was wonderful. We ate wonderful food. We visited The Alamo, the wax museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and various other tourist destinations. We walked and walked and walked (actually got a little lost walking back to our hotel). I wouldn't change a thing.

My favourite summer vacation spot is Tofino on the Westcoast of Vancouver Island. When you wake up in the morning it's foggy and cool and then as the morning opens into afternoon the fog lifts and you can see ocean as far as you see, and sometimes whales or dolphins swimming. There are waves crashing on rocks and so many hiking places. It's just complete heaven. ๐

When we arrived there was no snow, no snow for Christmas but just before we left for home it snowed. I had missed all the snow and my hubby said it hardly ever snowed in Norfolk. I've always loved to travel so this is a very hard question! Perhaps I'll go with the longest trip — my semester in Rome in college! I took one day to myself to sit back in the Sistine Chapel and just look up as long as I possibly wanted too. And I traveled by train all over the country with a couple cameras on weekends, pre-digital age and EXIF data, numbering rolls and rolls of film and jotting down dates. Thank you!

Aruba!!! We are going again this summer with our three little babes and another on the way. Somehow I don't think it's going to be as relaxing as our pre-kids trips!

My most favorite vacation that never gets old is Yosemite in the winter. Ice skating with my husband below the huge granite cliffs, hiking in the snow, and waking up knowing that you are in one of the greatest most treasured places on Earth. ๐

My favorite trip was a a four day trip with my mother to Bali. I went scuba diving for the first time and fell in love with the colors of coral and the ocean. The rest of the time, my camera was glued to my face as I tried to capture as much of the beautiful sunsets, temples, and landscapes as possible. Thank you for hosting the give-away!

My favorite vacation, which would shock my boyfriend, was when we took time off to move into our dream house. My boyfriend and I had been house hunting for 3 years. I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen, because we were so far apart on what we wanted/needed, but as time marched on, we found ourselves meeting in the middle and had a dream home in mind that would make both of us happy.
We heard about the house a week before it went on the market, we viewed it 15 minutes after it was listed, and had our offer on the table an hour later.
Around this time, we also adopted two cattle dog mix puppies (http://www.flickr.com/photos/kimberlygauthier/4658258747/) and were trying to potty train, pack, and move in a shorter time frame then planned. And we lost our movers.
Oh, and did I mention that we came down with the worst summer cold too. It was a comedy of errors. But our neighbors showed up on our door on moving day, my boyfriend's 70 year old dad helped me load up a truck with boxes, a friend puppy and kitty (we have two cats) sat for us while we moved.
We were sick, exhausted, in loads of pain, but we were so happy and now, a year later, we still talk about moving week with huge smiles on our face. I'm grinning from ear to ear now.

My favorite vacation is the annual vacation we take with my whole family to Orlando, FL. We meet there every year, no matter where we are living, and we spend the week together! We always have lots of fun swimming, shopping, site seeing, cooking and just hanging out! New memories are created every time we go!

Favorite vacation was a quick escape to Marthas Vineyard. No car, or schedule. Just rented bikes and our daypacks. Even though we have done some great overseas travel I always look back to this our 2 days of carefree time on Marthas Vineyard.

My family took a trip over the long weekend last weekend and headed to our cabin in norther Idaho. Generally, the weather over Memorial day is not so good but we were very lucky and god a couple days of SUNSHINE which we have been lacking in the Pacific Northwest. My daughter go to throw rocks into the lake, we took some long walks, enjoyed the company of friends and family which all equated to lots of relaxation! Now I am back in Seattle and, though there is no place like home, I miss the slower pace in north Idaho!

My favorite vacation was last summer. My family (my mom, dad, sister, and I) plus my boyfriend and his brother took a road trip from Houston to New York. My parents are both from upstate NY and for my 21st birthday I wanted to go to NYC because we have never been. We hopped in a mini-van and left for our three week adventure. The first stop we made was New Orleans. We decided to stay there for the night and go sight seeing. We went to Bourbon St. ate at Bubba Gumps etc. The next day we went to the D-Day museum because my dad is a HUGE history buff! It was a very interesting place I highly recommend it! The next stop was Atlanta, GA. We stopped and had dinner with one of my boyfriend's friends and with my mom's cousins who we haven't seen in years. We stayed the night in ATL and the next day we were off to Roanoke, Virginia to stay the night with one of my Aunts. We left the next morning for the Big Apple. We stayed with my dad's best friend in New Jersey and commuted every morning to NYC. The city was amazing!!!!! I fell in love with everything about it! We were only there for two days so we barely had time to do anything, but we went to see the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, The MET, Times Square, all of the touristy stuff. We also stopped in Hoboken to see Carlo's Cake Shop from the show the Cake Boss! The next place we went to was Ithaca NY, my dad's hometown. We spent a week there visiting family and friends, then we were off to Syracuse NY, my mom's hometown. We spent another week there visiting family. We also made a trip to Niagra Falls. On the way back, we stayed a few more days with my aunt in Virginia and then we all (Including my aunt and her family) went to North Carolina to see my cousin get married! After spending 2 days in NC, we headed back to ATL, stayed one night there, and then went to Arkansas. My boyfriend was a foreign exchange student from Mexico and he went to Mount Ida, Arkansas (about an hour away form Hot Springs). We went to visit his host family who he had not seen in about seven years. Then it was back to Houston! It was a crazy trip but we saw so much. We hadn't been on vacation to see family in years so it was nice to see them all for a fun occasion, not just a funeral or something bad. We all needed a vacation from the vacation but we want to do it again but this time on the west coast! Maybe in the next couple of years we will! ๐

My FAVORITE vacations were when I was a kid in Northern California ….. as use to camp or get a house boat up at Shasta Lake. We would water ski, swim and eat watermelon. Those were the best family times and the best memories of my dad and mom.

My favorite vacation is a staycation. Completely off-the-grid, but still at home. Re-energizing ourselves and filling our home with new life. It's the best ever! Allowing our home to be a haven and being refreshed.

I love Italy and our trip driving along the Amalfi coast was spectacular but believe it or not one of my favorite holidays has to be Newfoundland. The people, the beauty, the rugged coast line and of course the whales are what makes Newfoundland such a wonderful place to visit. Would go back in a heartbeat.
