Recently I posted this still life of ginger lemonade on my blog, along with the delicious recipe.
I wanted to share it here as there are few reasons I like this photo: one is the memory it’s created of the weekend involving many glasses of this drink. Second, is the possibly “rule breaking” spontaneous composition, which has the main subject centred and the symmetry of 3 glasses and 3 pieces of lime, but mostly it’s the natural light flooding in from behind that excites me. The natural light is the main reason I took the photo, it’s the light that stopped me from cutting the limes, to go get my camera and take this single shot.
As photographers we seek out the details of natural light intentionally, instinctively and sometimes accidentally.
Let’s bask in the light you’ve found or seeked out recently, share your images here today.๏ปฟ

I can definitely see you you loved the light in this. So soft…so beautiful.
And – here's a recent one of mine – a heron..as he stepped into the morning light:

Ah, this is my favorite type of photography. Seeing what is there and portraying it beautifully. I must go look up that recipe on your blog… ๐
Right now, I'm in love with the light spilling out of houses on the long summer evenings. This light calls to me.

Great topic! I've recently become obsessed with finding the light! I think once you start, you can't stop! I'm having a lot of fun finding the best light and learning how to best use it in my photos. I had my first newborn session (besides my daughter) a month ago and I was nervous ahead of time about the idea of having to find the best light in an unfamiliar house:

I just find the light in the rose from below in contrast with the shadow from the first rose.
I love to seek out the details and the light

Great theme today. Love the light in your photo. This image of mine of backlit leave last Spring came immediately to mind:

I love looking for light! I think as photographers you become more aware of it over time. Here is a shot I took recently just because of the light I saw.

i'm lucky to have the sunset in my front yard every day, it always gifts me with some beautiful light, so long as I find the time to get out there ๐

There is such a light that comes through my house at dinnertime. I am powerless against it. I shoot it nearly everyday.

that is EXACTLY what this shot was all about for me. over the past few months i've been seeing light in a new way. before it was just about time of day, and while that obviously plays a big part, i've expanded that sense into considering direction, intensity, shadowplay, filtering, etc quite a bit. just wish i had more light in my tiny apt!

Oh I am all about the natural light lately. Taking a class in portraiture for twelve weeks will do that to a girl. I don't have any of my photos on the blog yet (still need the model releases) but I am loving learning to see …

While the subject matter may not be as delightful as the makings of ginger lemonade, the intention, to capture a moment of interesting light, was the same:

So gorgeous! That lemonade sounds delicious, I'm gonna have to try it out this weekend. ๐ Playing with light is the best – both my brother and I have black-furred dogs, so I'm constantly shooting in manual in order to get them to not look like black blobs. It's a good challenge! ๐ http://www.flickr.com/photos/trudem/5843486986/in/photostream
