The word focus keeps crossing my path. It’s so interesting how that works. Little whispers from the universe.
I strongly believe that whatever we focus on will grow. I love this quote by Marianne Williamson.
We can always choose to perceive things differently. You can focus on what’s wrong in your life, or you can focus on what’s right.
~Marianne Williamson
Over and over I’ve seen this work in my life, both positively and negatively. I’ve focused on my troubles and they’ve continued to grow. I’ve focused on my art and it’s flourished. I’ve focused on a bad relationship and it kept getting worse. I’ve focused on beauty and found more beauty. I could go on and on.
It works. We can use this ‘power‘ for good or for evil. I try my best to choose good.
Tell us/Show us….what are you focusing on these days?

I am finding a new "focus" on color in my surroundings. This has come unforeseen and with great joy.

If only I had! But now that I am older, I follow this advice more often. In photography, I am now trying to pay attention more often to color, to compose with color.

I am focusing on combining my photos/photo editing with my art and poetry…it's a whole new world for me and I'm very excited about it. Photography/PSE seems to be linking all of my creative outlets together for me, after years of keeping them separate from each other.

Kim – this is SUCH a good reminder. I seem to be spending a lot of time lately wondering about, writing about, and trying to decide how to shoot my truth. Wondering how to bring what is true for me, and truly me, out into the visible world. (And I think it's starting to work!)

This year has become an unexpected journey into self-discovery. I hadn't planned on it but it seemed to just happen so I'm going with it.

This absolutely works! To quote a hero of mine 'you become what you continuously do'. That has stuck in my head for a long time. So, I decided I was a photographer, designer, digital scrapper, Photoshop (user), creative person, etc. etc. and I became a creative team member at my most favourite digital scrapping site – true story!

I've been trying really hard to focus on joy. I felt like I didn't have any, because so much of what I do is related to trauma and pain. I just started looking for joy and believing it was there somewhere. It was! http://joyfulwise.com/2012/04/13/782/

What a great photo — I love how the word focus is reflected in the cup. Great words too. I was at the dentist the other day and decided to try focusing on how my hands felt, rather than my mouth, and what a different experience that was! I thought it was something I ought to try in real life — focus on the calm, rather than the stress.
