Ali Edwards, Oregon Coast, Summer 2008
I don’t scrapbook. I tried it once many years ago and failed miserably. Don’t get me wrong, my pages looked pretty good but I only got 4 done. The End. But when I see the volumes of cool and imaginative scrapbooks created by the incredibly talented Ali Edwards, I swoon. Suddenly I become a scrapbook junkie. Course, I haven’t attempted it again since my first 4 pages but still, I like to look and admire what Ali has done.
When I visit Ali’s blog, I know I want to make something amazing with my photos but then I get overly-inspired and decide I’ll leave it for another day. But then today is gone. Sigh. So, when I read the invitation to join Ali in a simple project to record a week in the life of my life, my family, using my photos, featuring what I see as important today, I will admit, I got a burst of inspired energy and determination. Maybe I can do this. Maybe I’ll start today.
Why this project? Why now? I guess it’s just the thrill of having this moment in time distilled into something tangible. Something I can hold in my hands as a reminder of this priceless and fleeting moment of my life. I take photo and after photo and am usually content with that being the end result. But the idea of using photos as a springboard sparks my interest. It’s as if the photo is just part of the process. It’s a whole new perspective. And it’s as simple as a focusing in on just one week of my life. I think it sounds wonderful and I plan on taking Ali up on her invitation by following along with her on her blog to see what I can come up with. Why not?
Ali is a one woman resource and offers so much via her blog, her books, her columns, etc etc). I encourage you to click around and discover the magic that is Ali Edwards. She’s one heck of a creative gal who likes to share and sharing is good.
Speaking of sharing, Ali has offered to give away 4 books (1 copy of each title ) to lucky readers her at Shutter Sisters today. Be sure to leave a comment today to get into the running…prepare to be inspired. You have until midnight on Saturday to be included in the drawing.
Oh wow…I tried starting to scrapbook last year, but my time and attention kept getting called elsewhere. Maybe this is the inspiration I need to get back in!
Thanks for sharing!

i’ve never been very good at scrapbooking. i get overwhelmed with the supplies. we just picked up a notebook from muji that has about eight small rectangles per page and we’re trying to fill them with things from the week – receipts, movie stubs, pics, magazine clippings, etc. i’d love to win a copy of ali’s book as it would surely improve our efforts ;). her work is wonderful. thanks for the giveway.
Ali is amazing. I’ve been a long-time fan since I first stumbled across her in a scrapbooking magazine (I’m thinking it was Creating Keepsakes, but I could be wrong. My memory isn’t always the best, which is why scrapbooking means so much to me.)
Anyhow, I’m off to check out the invitation. I’m sure I’ll want to play along!
Even though I’ve gone to the "dark side" of scrapbooking (digital), I would love the chance to learn more from Ali. Thanks for pointing me to her blog.

I am like you… I have good intentions to scrapbook…but don’t get it done… blurb book is my new scrapbook! I plan on sharing Ali’s info and all her cool stuff with some friends who will LOVE IT! I have to admit, I am inspired! Love the project idea!
thanks for sharing!

I’m a digiscrapper and I regularly read Ali’s blog. She’s amazing. I’m planning to take her up on "A Week in the Life." I take photos almost every day anyway so this will force me to actually do something with them! π
i agree – ali is awesome!
I always enjoy reading Ali’s ideas and I’m planning on working on the "week in the life " projects. Lots of different ways you can use that!
…I love AliΒ΄s style and inpiration she gives away so freely!!! I guess I am a fan of herΒ΄s…;-))
Oh! This is the prompt I need. I love ali edwards – after I come here in the morning I go to her blog — it’s my morning creative wake-up one-two punch.
And in theory, I’ve been doing this all year — now: to put it together!!
http://lynlepre.typepad.com
i too love Ali’s work and i have decided to also do a week in the life of me.
Cant wait to see the outcome!
Kristin
I could totally get lost over at Ali’s blog for a few hours. Great stuff!
I am *so* doing this! And I’d LOVE to own copies of her books!
That Ali, isn’t she the best??? I plan to do this project!!! She’s just so inspiring:o)
I’ve scrapbooked forever but haven’t done a project quite like this before, so I’m playing along. I’ve not visited your site before but was sent here by Ali, and it’s beautiful. Definitely moved it to my favorites!
I adore Ali. And I can’t seem to find her last book. And I might just die without it.
I am excited about this project and I love the giveaway idea.
I want to do this- thanks for the inspiration from both you and Ali!
jenny
Definitely going to try to play along as well. I’ve tried to do this in the past on my own but "forgot" to finish it… maybe this time. The challenge for me is the writing part.
All of my scrapbooking stuff is in boxes right now…I’m moving. These books would be welcome inspiration for my new scrap room.
I love Ali’s work. I plan to do the project starting tomorrow. I did this once before (also spurred on by her blog) and it will be fun to see how much my week has changed since then. I’d love to win her books. π
SO inspiring…can’t wait to get started on this project. I think this will be one of those that is so rewarding to look back on in the years to come.
I’m the same way! When I go to Ali’s blog I am totally inspired to create like a mad woman. Trouble is that I don’t often have the time to do what I’m thinking and then the project gets pushed aside and forgotten π
I’m so excited to take part in this! We’re packing for a week-long vacation next week, so I’m going to wait until we come back as I’d rather document a "normal" week in the life.
Can’t wait to see the finished product π
Ali is amazing! I can’t wait to do the week in the life of book. She is truly inspirational.
Ali is the best. Love her work and I am going to do the week project. Looks fun.
I’ve never owned an Ali book, but sure would love one! Thanks for sharing. I think I have a new favorite site…yours! bookmarked π
Sounds like an awesome project .. I can’t wait to try π
ali is awesome!
her site is inspiring… i am still scrapping 2002 but I keep taking those picutures! Early retirement activity planning… that is what I call it. Have a fantastic Friday ladies!
I have followed and admired Ali for a long time, I love her style, and her no frills approach to scrapbooking! This week in the life idea, is wonderful! I can’t wait to play along.
When I grow up, I want to be just like Ali Edwards! Really looking forward to working on this project.
I love Ali! What a great prize!
Ali’s work is inspiring. I would love her book.
Wow, what a great giveaway!! I took a class by Ali, and she really jump-started my ‘scrapbooking’. She is so inspiring. I love her simple take on scrapbooking – especially when she creates mini-albums!
This is a lovely site! Totally agree on how inspiring Ali can be!
I love to scrap, and I love Ali! Would love to have her books to go with the inspiration she gives!
Ali Edwards creates some awesome pages. Very clean lines and tells the story. So many people get caught up in the embellisments and what pattern paper to use instead of scrapping the picture and writing down their journaling. Ali is definitely a wonderful example of how to tell the story.
what a great idea, i too am not a scrap booker but why not? i document my everyday with my camera, my blog, why not put them to paper. inspiration for sure, or maybe a challenge. ok i am in.
An Ali book would definitely help me get my scrapbooking mojo back–thanks for the contest.
this seems like a very manageable "all about me" project. I’ve wanted to do an album like that for a while, but it seems too overwhelming. I’m sure I can handle a week! Ali is such an amazing inspiration- I’m not sure how she sleeps at night with all those ideas swirling around her head!!
I’m SO excited about this. I love capturing the everyday and don’t do it often enough. It will be so fun to look back on what we were doing at this point in our lives, in 2008. I would love to see a glimpse of my mom’s "week in the life" at a similar point in her life, when I was a kid. What did we do each day? What were the everyday routines? Something so simple and yet so interesting.
Oh, and I’d love to win one of Ali’s amazing books! π
Ali is truly inspirational and an amazing, wonderful person!! Thank – You for such an AWESOME giveaway!!!!!
I am inspired to try this week in the life project too! I love that you work with what you have & NO pressure!
she is such a great inspiration for those of us who like to capture our memories!
nice! love the prompt to take some time to put next week’s story together. thanks.
i agree, i love Ali’s work… so inspiring… i check her blog every day.
Huge Ali fan! Always inspired by her creative proceeses. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Well, here we go. I have always avoided ‘words’ — something Ali is big on, but this project seems doable. Intimate (because its about daily life), but not intrusive. Here we go!
I do scrapbook…I love papercrafting, I love keeping and making memories for my family. I follow Ali for several reasons and have taken classes from her. Her style may be different from mine, but I always am inspired by her blog, her books and her life.
I was lucky enough to take this class with Ali several years ago. It changed the way I approach telling my family’s story. I need a refresher. Enjoy!
I am a huge Ali fan and was thrilled to discover her digitial templates at Designer Digitals. I travel so much I scrapbook almost 100% digital these days. I can’t wait to put a digital/hybrid spin on this project.
LOVE scrapbooking. when i was pregnant with my only son i pre-made all his pages for a year. i knew i wouldn’t have time once he was here. it’s been 3 years and i haven’t even touched a photograph to one single page, yet. but i know there will be a day when i’m looking for a reminiscent hobby to indulge myself in while my son is off doing cooler things with Daddy. =)
then i’ll have a field day with all of these amazing photos of our beautiful life together. =)

Love your site! Love the inspiration Ali provides! Thanks for the chance at the giveaway!
Love your blog. I love Ali’s work. I love taking pictures and I take them with scrapbooking in mind but the process always scares me that what I have in my head won’t turn out. Perhaps I should just do it and try again:)
A great project… think I’ll give it a try!
I read Ali’s blog everyday. I love her take on scrapbooking and telling our own unique stories.
I used to scrapbook, then I stopped. Then I started again, then stopped. I’m a huge Ali Edwards fan though, so I’d love some of her inspiration… alispiration.
Two words: Ali ROCKS!
I love Ali’s blog. She is such an inspiration.
I love the work that Ali does too. But I’ve also learned from her that you need to do your own thing your own way. So I use her examples as inspiration and "do my own thing".
Ali is my hero. I am constantly inspired by her ideas. She has such a simple, realistic approach to her scrapbooking and I dig it. Saying I’m a fan of hers is truly an understatement!
Pick me! (Please)
I love Ali and her style. Her projects are amazing and I will be joining her in this project next week! can’t wait!! Dawn H
Oh, I’d love to win some inspiration. I love to buy scrapbooking supplies. They look so pretty at the store, then I get them home and think,"What was I going to do with this?" I’m going to try to play along next week and actually accomplish something.
Tracey
I can’t wait to start on this project!
: )
I LOVE Ali, too! And I’m so excited to do this week-in-the-life project and have her do it along with us! I always enjoy looking at her finished projects, but this way it’s almost like scrapbooking with a friends and we’re all working on it at the same time! Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.
I’d love to have copies of her books. I’ve seen them at our scrapbook store, but haven’t had the $$ in my budget to purchase them. What a wonderful reference they would be as I make scrapbooks for my grandchildren.
Thanks for the offer….so generous!
Another big Ali fan. Hope to keep up with her this next week.
Oh, I’d love to win some inspiration! I love to buy scrapbooking supplies. They look so pretty at the store, then I get them home and think "what was I going to do with this?’ I’m going to try to play along this week and actually accomplish something.
Tracey
Please enter me in the draw, too!
I love reading Ali’s blog. She is so inspiring! I love her simple approach to scrapbooking, etc. I would love to enter to win any of her books.
I am planning to do her "week in the life" project…starting with this Sunday..my birthday. It will be an unusual week though, as I am moving my daughter, so only one day of work this coming week. Oh well! π
Lisa
I’m going to attempt to do this project along with Ali and everyone else. With her support I think I can do it! Can wait to get started.
I am a big fan of Ali too – and can’t wait to play along!!
I love Ali! I am going to participate in her "Week in the Life." I am so looking forward to it. Would love her books!
I love Ali’s work! I read her blog daily and I’m always inspired. I’m planning to do this project along with her.
I have been reading Ali’s blog for years now, she is always SO inspiring! I really love her scrapbooking style and her blog writing is fantastic.
wow, what a great resource! i love the idea of using photos as a springboard into some other art form. thanks for all the links too! i love that photo of her too, i can see right into her personality and it makes me want to know her! π
Ali is amazing! I love her work!
I found your blog through a link on Ali’s. I’m going to bookmark it now and add it to my favorites to check.
This project is going to be fun, Ali is a favorite of mine.
I LOVE Ali and her projects! They make you think about your self and your life.
And I love the clean design of her minibooks.
I love A Week In The Life….I did it last summer and it is my best collection of photos…ever.
Wow! Great give away! Ali Edwards is a wonderfully talented scrapper and author. Love her style!
I used to stress over my scrapbook pages until I realized that the most important reason I scrapbook is to create a record, a family history of sorts, for my kids. I do very simple pages and love having these books to share with my kids. I love the idea of doing a week in the life. I think I’ll be doing this at some point!
Wow this is great I would love to win one of Ali’s books!
I am so excited about this project! I am always inspired by Ali’s focus on the "everyday." It keeps me grounded and forces me to appreciate every single moment for what it is.
I am going to do this project. Sounds so fun, can’t wait to get started. Would also LOVE to own those books for even more inspiration. Thanks to you both.
Ali’s blog is one of my favorites!! I love her work and she is such an inspiration to me!
I check Ali’s blog everyday and am so inspired by her. I am definitely on board with capturing a week of my life in pictures, words, etc and would love to have her books!
Ali is all inspiring!!! Love her work and how much she motiviates me.
Nicky Anderson
Yay for you for joining in with Ali for the "Week in the Life" project. I took her class last year and learned SO MUCH from the week of photos. I refer back to that album often.
That Ali is one inspiring woman! Follow her lead. Document. As she says, it’s all about the words and the photos.
Good luck with the project this week. You’ll be glad you did it.
My boyfriend is coming home for a week before he deploys and I think this would be a great project to document what our regular life is like to send with him. Ali is so inspirational – thanks for doing a giveaway of her books!
Ali’s blog is daily reading for me. It has been hard to get to scrapbooking in the midst of life lately. But I too am inspired by the challenge and am going to give it a go.
I love Ali. She is so inspiring. Heres hoping I get the Week in my life project done:)
Teresa
I love Ali! My all time favorite scrapbook artist! I would love to be entered:)
I am starting this project today, especially since I have a one day trip planned to Fresno for a football game.
Everything is always more fun with friends…
I’ve been a fan of Ali’s since her Hall of Fame win way back when. Even went to Cape Cod (I live in Ottawa Canada) to go to some classes taught by her (I figured it would be the closest she would come to Canada!!). Anyway, I have her books, but it would be nice to win and donate it. Can’t wait to do this project with her.
Ali is my scrap idol. I love her style and I love her vision. I will be doing her project next week with her π
You have no idea how THRILLED I would be to win! I’m going to try this project too, though at the end I’m pretty sure my album will be a lot of pictures of a messy house, diapers and my munchkins! Oh well. That really IS life around here!
Ahhhh . . . scrapbooking is the outlet for all those photos I take. I’m absolutely addicted! I’ll definately be doing a "Week in the Life" album. How fun! Thanks so much for the wonderful post and including us all in such a fab drawing!
i’ve tried daily photo projects in the past and i just couldn’t keep up with it.
hoping that just doing it for one week will work out.
looking forward to it.
Ali is my biggest inspiration! SHE ROCKS!!
Unfortunately, I have never taken one of her classes, I am so excited about taking part in doing this documentation.
LETS GO!
{vicki}
Hoping to win!! Ali is my favorite and I’m playing along with the project too π
I’m in! I love the energy and momentum that come from being part of something bigger. I do tend to overlook the everyday, to see my life as ‘same-old,’ and constantly look ahead. I want to slow down, document, revel, and relax and I’m looking forward to this experience as a way to do all those things.
ALI ROCKS! I love her! And I"ve LOVE to win her books!!!!
Wow, I would love to have Ali’s books. I just love her. thanks
I hope I can follow through with this project…I love to scrapbook, but I don’t have any scrapbooks about myself or my daily life. I have been trying to put one together, but it hasn’t happened yet. I guess since I am a mom I think my life is not very exciting….
Ali is a powerhouse of inspirational. Beautiful, generous soul and I love her work. I’ve never done anything like this before but have decided to play along too and I can’t wait to get started.
What a neat idea! I’m just getting into digi scrapping after a nearly 7 year hiatus from traditional scrapbooking (my oldest is 6-1/2…see any correlation?). I’ll definitely have to try this!
I read Ali’s blog on occasion and love her approach to scrapbooking everyday things. I would love to read her books too!
Another digiscrapper here too. I’m taking a photo a day, so this has peaked my interest too!
Ali is a wonderful inspiration. I don’t usually have time (make time?) to play along with her weekend creatives, but I’m very tempted this time.
Yeah, I have the greatest intentions on scrapbooking too. I just never seem to have the time. I want to do it, I really do.
I love this project.
I scrapbook all the time. I usually just do big things, like birthdayβs, holidays, etc.
It would be nice to do some layouts of my everyday life. I think itβs a great idea.

I love scrapbooking and have found more of my passion for it in the last year – some of my best work yet! Scrapbooking has also made me a better photographer. I am more aware now of how to get a great picture and learning how to use more of the settings on my slr. Ali is a great inspiration and I read her blog daily:)
Great blog – there are some amazing photos here that are really inspiring:)
StacyS. (Alberta, Canada)
I love this project. I was fortunate enough to take this class with Ali 2 years ago. I loved how it turned out. Many people stopped me on the street to ask if I was a reporter doing a story. I said, well yes, of my own life. It was so much fun. I plan to do it again, it will be interesting to see what has changed, hopefully my photography is better or at least my perspective.
I don’t scrapbook either but I love Ali’s blog, love fall, and thought this is a good way to Just Do It.
As a woman in her mid 60s, still in the middle !, I want to document what it is that makes today special. I’m thinking of this as a mixedmedia gratitude journal.
I have been scrapbooking for for over 6yrs now and I’m still amazed and inspired by Ali Edwards. My style has changed lots over those six years and now I’m trying to capture the everyday more and more. Those are the things I will want to review when I’m old and the memory is fading. LOL
I’ve planned on doing a week in the life since I first came across the project in Life Artist, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Somehow it always seems to end with me not taking (what I feel to be) enough photos, and then I just put it off til next week. Which then of course becomes the week after that and the week after that.. Hopefully this time I’ll make it!
Ali is awesome. Would love to have her books! Thanks for the opportunity.
I love Ali’s work. I do not own the books unfortunately so what a wonderful opportunity. I will be playing along with the week in the life challenge
I read Ali’s blog every morning while I have my cup of coffee….. love her inspiration… and I am looking forward to joining in on this project. I can’t wait :).
I am going to do this with my adopted daughter as a homeschool project this week! I love Ali’s work and have wanted to do this for a long time. I homeschool my oldest daughter and she and I are going to do this to remember these wonderful days of being together as she perseveres through her learning process!
I am inspired by Ali on a daily basis and cannot wait to begin this project. Thanks for sharing it on your blog.
Should be a fun project.
ali is such an amzaing creative soul with so much inspiration to give. i would love to win all of her books – i currently only own 1.
I’m definitely taking part in this project! Ali is so inspiring…she makes me think about all the everyday stuff that I normally take for granted and appreciate all parts of it.
Wow, love your site! I’ll be adding you to my favorites list, thanks to Ali for even more inspiration. Such a cool project too.
I am very excited to join Ali in this project. I too have thought my life was boring with weekly routines but I am excited to see the final prpoject completed and what my weekly life actually looks like
Yea, I’m in the same boat. Too much of a perfectionist for scrapbooking… which is why I take pictures instead. I’m sure that many of you can relate. Though, I’ve followed Ali’s blog for a while now and I can’t help feel a twinge of guilt every time I see her new amazing spreads and wish that maybe I’d invested my creativity in something so beautiful and memorable.
So perhaps one of these books is exactly what I need. Pretty please?
Great idea! I am looking forward to documenting our early marriage; just got married 2 months ago, 7/12/08. Would be fun looking back on it 10 years from now.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
FOUR of Ali’s books! How I would love to be one of those winners.
Thanks.
I am always so inspired by Ali’s work. She is so great at what she does! I’m going to try to join her as well in her Week in the Life journey.
I am absolutely inspired every time I see Ali’s work as well. Thanks for the chance to win her books. I hope I win!
Yeah! A new blog to read and follow. Thanks Ali! I love, love, love Ali’s philosophy on scrapbooking – focusing on remembering stories through pictures and words and not worrying about the order or volume of what you do.
I too am putting this project on my to-do list! I have invited friends to come along with me and am glad to see all the buzz for doing something small yet will yield what I believe are big results. I visit all that is Ali on her blog everyday and agree, she is pure magic! Thanks for offering the giveaway. I can add one more blog to my stalk list now, too. π
I love Ali and her ideas. Her blog is so inspiring and I’m sure her books are as well. I am so excited to capture my true family life in such a simple way.
I will be joining along with Ali in the week in the life album. I am so excited to document what is happening right now. Usually I’m a couple of years behind!
I am actually a scrapper and love it, but always find inspiration in Ali’s work! Love your site here too!!
I am a huge fan of Ali’s and just LOVE her style- it’s so clean cut, but still very creative! Thanks for the chance to win!!!!
I’ll be joining Ali on her every day journey next week and am pretty excited. I’m an avid scrapbooker but very busy right now—so I have decided not to pressure myself too much and if something gets in the way this week, I will still have the experience of getting going and can always try again. But I am gonna try to keep the pace. I had a blast the other week with my new point and shoot (easy to carry around) just taking pictures of road signs in my neighborhood. Years from now, how likely is it my kids will remember the street they lived on? Let alone the ones that took us to school and back and all our favorite places? FUN! (And I got some funny looks from people passing by. haha)
This is going to be an inspiring week- with Ali’s online tutelege and a new sit efor me to check out, too. I’ve always wanted to take this class – what a great opportunity.
ck
I feel totally inspired when I look at Ali’s stuff too. She’s really great at telling her story and sharing it with us!
I’m becoming a fan of Ali Edwards; love her everyday photo style. Looking forward to doing this new project!
I love Ali! I’m going to try this project even though it’s out of my "safe zone"! Thanks!
ali inspired me on a daily basis…her scrapbooking, her writing, her artsy way – she’s just very cool.
I don’t do a lot of digital scrapbooking, but I try to do more with my photos on occasion.
even if I just add text:

ali inspired me on a daily basis…her scrapbooking, her writing, her artsy way – she’s just very cool.
I am taking up this challenge to look at my life and get inspired! Ali is amazing, the point of view in her photos always take me in. Visited her blog which is great, would love to own a book by her!!
i await anxiously to see if ali has posted for the day and am sad when she doesn’t. π i want to spend time on this project. it would be fun to put together a week of this crazy life of work, home, husband and kids…
I adore Ali… she inspires me to record my children’s lives in a way I never thought I could.
Ali is great! This sounds like a fun project…count me in!!
I’ve been planning to do this project for the past three years, but it never seemed like the right time (Ha!) So this is just the kick in the creative pants I need to actually put thoughts and intentions to action!
I do digital scrapbooking. Best of both worlds and No paper mess lol.
Since I’ve gotten interested in taking GREAT photo’s tho, I’ve not done a layout. Here is one to take a look at tho..

I’m right there with you! I would LOVE to scrapbook and be creative, but find myself falling short. Maybe Ali’s books would help me out! π
I accept the challenge. Please include me in your drawing.
I love Ali’s work as well! I definately want to try her challenge – I think it’s great that she’s doing it along with everyone else!
I would LOVE her books – she is so talented.
Beth
I found you through Ali’s site. She really is an incredible talent. One of the things I love most is her "everyday" projects. I can’t wait to play along with "A Week in Your Life".
I used to be an avid scrapbooker. I taught classes at the local scrapbook stores on my mini albums. I even had a whole room devoted to it. Then I seen then magic of digital scrapbooking and thought I would try my hand at it. I have hardly done anything since. I need to get back into it.
Ali rocks my world. I love your photo of her, and the album idea!
I love the blog and books of Ali Edwards. I am looking forward to documenting a week of my life.
put my name in the hat! thanks for sharing! love your blog.
Ali is so inspiring! I love seeing her work and reading her words.
~~Jackie
thanks for introducing me to Ali!
I LOVE Ali’s A Week in the Life project–I took her class in Chicago and I’m currently working on my second version of the album. It’s my absolute favorite scrapbook.
Hi there, I just read about the project of Ali and it sounds amazing!! I am joining in too on the project and I am so curious what the outcome will be π
#171, my lucky number! Actually, I already have one of Ali’s books, so if I win I promise to give away the extra on my blog. So you should definitely pick me and share the love!
oooh how cool. off to check out her blog π
Pick me Pick me π
Ali is so inspiring. I really think I’m going to give this project a go.
After a super busy and chaotic summer and a move as well, I think it is time to get back into the swing of things! Ali is a great inspiration and I can’t wait to get started. Who knows… maybe i’ll even win a book!
we’re off! got a pic of me typing this entry! thanks for the inspiration.
This sure looks interesting…great ideas for photos and for journaling…I’ve got this bookmarked and going to do my best to participate…Thanks for doing this…
Love Ali, and love SS! Such inspiration! Can’t wait to play!
Look at Ali’s blog every single day and always find some thing to inspire me.
in a fit of scrapbooking inspiration, about four summers ago, i filled a basket at the local scrapbooking store with acid free pastels, a scrapbook, papers, glue and markers, scissors and corner rounders and i am embarrassed to say that they sit still in a plastic bin somewhere in my basement. hmmmm. maybe i should think about pulling them out π
I would love to win Ali’s 4 books. I am looking forward to the project, too!
Yeah,
The scrapbooking thing never worked for me either. I have all the supplies though..waiting for me in boxes..waiting to be inspired!
You have a great site! And yes, I love reading Ali’s blog. I check it out every morning after I get off a long night shift. I’m excited to start the "week in the life" project. I take photos everyday, especially of the silly things my little son does, therefore, now I have a specific project focus my pictures. I guess i’ll be starting today…after some sleep! =)
I learned of your blog through Ali’s this morning! I’ve already added you to my favorites and can’t wait to peruse past postings.
Thank you for the opportunity at a chance to win Ali’s books!!
peace.

I’ve never tried anything like this. I plan to follow Ali’s lead this week and see where it goes. She is certainly an inspiring leader!
I am inevitably inspired by Ali’s work – I’m looking forward to preserving the everyday with this super cool challenge!
I plan to work on this project as well. Sounds fun! Thanks for the giveaway and cool picture of Ali.
I love Ali Edwards – love her no stress aproach to scrapbooking.
Thanks for sharing her work – it really is inspirational! I don’t think I will do the week thing, although it sounds like a great idea. I’m already overcommitted as it is LOL! I love her idea for the December Daily book – I might have to do that one this year.
I love Ali’s work, wish mine could look as good! Would love a chance to win her books.
I like Ali’s approach to scrapbooking because I think that’s what scrapbooking really is – real everyday life. Many scrapbookers tend to get carried away with pretty papers and embellishments and leave out the journalling to create space for more pretty stuff. I totally approve of her ‘dare to write’, ‘imperfection is ok’ beliefs. Making memories last is all that matters, not so much design and supplies. So this coming week I am going to embark on this project with her as well! π
Ali is one of my favorite people to blog "stalk". She is so creative. She is one of those people that I would love to meet in real life and be friends with.
I like that Ali’s style is about words and pictures-reminds me to get the stories down on paper. My kids will appreciate that when they get older-not whether or not the paper matches the embelishments.
I need to get my groove back! Plus I haven’t been taken photos in, like, FOREVER! I am going to attempt this project. What fun!
cristal
I love the inspiration that Ali provides. I’m sure her books are amazing!
I would love to win Ali’s books! I am an avid scrapbooker and learning to utilize my DSLR camera to its full potential!!
man – you really speak the truth – like you are in my head. yep – I’ve scrapbooked, but how often have I looked at the blogs and been "overly inspired" and do nothing today. I tell myself I will do it…..later….this weekend….and then the weekend comes and goes.
I am challenging myself to do this week in the life project along with Ali and you and the other thousands. this is good.
I am in the middle of getting my house ready to move and really don’t have time to be scrapping but I"VE GOT TO DO THIS PROJECT for this very reason! I can’t wait to do this! Great giveaway!
Count me in too. I think I will start today!
I’m definitely going to play along. I keep fighting with the idea I don’t need to be scrapbooking because I don’t have kids – then I remember so what! This will definitely get me going in that direction. I love Ali’s way of documenting.
I haven’t scrapbooked in ages.
Which means that I am desperate need of some more "current events" in my scrapbook.
This may be just the ticket.
THANKS! π
What an AWESOME giveaway!!! Ali is extremely talented, and her work is simply inspiring. I’m excited about playing along with her for the weekend creative she posted. Cant wait to see how it turns out!
Another fan here…I may join along w/ this!
I was wondering what kind of photos to include in Ali’s Everyday Shutterfly book – and then she creates this perfect project to capture everday things. I’m going to give it a try. Even though I don’t have kids, I feel it is important to document everyday chores, favorites, errands, etc.
Love Ali’s work!! Love her books!!
Well, I know Ali’s work very well (been paper and digi-scrapping for 5 years now). I would love her books! So I am leaving my comment and keeping my fingers crossed!
Love this "ode to Ali" post. I find her work very inspiring as well and am planning to start documenting a week-in-my-life this weekend to follow along and create w/ Ali. Love it!
I’ve always wanted to go to this class, and this is almost as good!! I’m gonna try it! btw…. love your website..this is the first time I’ve heard of it, but I’ve enjoyed reading it!!
I love reading Ali’s blog and would love one of her books. I going to do the week in the life of also, looks like fun.

I’ve been saving up for her books! Would love to win them!
I love being inspired by Ali’s blog, thanks for the chance to win one of her books!
HUGE HUGE scrapbooker here!! LOL. Been since scrapbooks had the strings that you tie together…Something about documenting our lives and history. Guess that’s why I love photography.
Thanks for the link to her page…I’ve already checked it out and I love it…
I have to agree wholeheartedly, Ali so generously shares her knowledge and inspires one and all.
I’d love to win Ali’s books! She is just so inspiring!
I am excited to attempt this project next week – Ali is so real and is a wealth of knowledge and challenges!!
OK, I’m convinced….sounds reasonable to me. My 14 year old son LOVES me taking his picture (HAHA) so this should be interesting. Ali’s email hooked me up to your blog, so I’ll walk around here and see whatcha got cookin’
Cheers!
Thanks Ali and Shutter Sisters!
Beautiful. Lovely. Inspiring. Life-giving. Thank you for adding your beauty to this world and for sharing it with us.
Ali’s blog is a must read for me first thing in the AM. She is full of great ideas and has a wonderful calming effect with her outlook on life. Thank you for this chance! This project is going to be so much fun!

I get inspired when I visit Ali’s blog and get all motivated, but then I freak myself out and never do anything. I really, really want to do something! LOL.
LOOOOOVE Ali, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to win a set of her books. Looking forward to working on next week’s everyday life project on Ali’s blog. Her work is packed with inspiraion. Thanks, Kim
LOOOOOVE Ali, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to win a set of her books. Looking forward to working on next week’s everyday life project on Ali’s blog. Her work is packed with inspiraion. Thanks, Kim
I can not WAIT to begin this project…the change of season seems to have me very inspired to start creating and this is a great way to start. Yay for Ali. π
I am going to play along next week.
Okay, it’s in writing. Guess there’s no backin’ out now! (BTW–lovin your photos)
I would love to have that collection of books. I read Ali’s blog regularly and am always inspired. I too, hope to try the peek into my week project. Time flies and it is filled with the everyday stuff we take for granted. I would love to look back on a project like this and be able to remember that time with some detail. Thanks Sandra O
i enjoy the process of scrapbooking but i don’t feel that i am the best at it. i still create b/c i love to make stuff (it is soothing for me). i still scrapbook so that I can share the pages with my kids when they get bigger. i love knowing that they will be able to read/see what they did as a child.
Thank you for introducing me to Ali, what inspiration indeed! I,too, am a scrapping failure, but this week in my life sounds doable.
And please, I’d love to be entered into the draw. Thanks.
I love Ali’s work and b/c of her, found your site! It’s beautiful! I’m trying to get inspired lately….in a creative funk. Again. As usual.
Hello… Wahou, I just love Ali’s work. She is the only one able to make such simple layout look just perfect: nothing to remove and nothing to have. I first only scrapbooked "big events" but since I have seen I work, I started documenting my everyday life also.
Definitely the inspiration I need to start scrapbooking. I’m a cardmaker at heart but will be participating in this next week. I love taking randomn photos of everyday things.
Hi
I love Ali too and I am also going to join her to document a Week of my life!

scrapbooking is not about making pretty pages. it’s for your family. but, putting pics in an album, is great, too! i had trouble putting pics in albums. i need somethig creative to focus on… scrappin’
embrace whatever hobby you enjoy and go with it! ali’s blog is great b/c she does other projects, also.
have a great day.
Love Ali! Love her work! Love the inspiration she shares! Would love to receive her book(s). This is a great blog, so happy to find it. The trinidad cabin photo is great! Keep it up, thanks for the happy Friday.
I adore Ali and her work is so inspiring…I am going to do this project next week – I did it at CKU Nashville so it will be fun to compare a year of different things or how much is the same – totally fun to do …. Lots of fun and thanks for the contest , please enter my name in the give a way ! Thank you
I don’t do scrapbooking much, but I do make DVDs with my photos set to music to commemorate a vacation, event, or just life.
Oh, and Ali’s site is WONDERFUL!
I’m excited for this project…I did "Daily Something" about a year ago, and loved that too…
I need something to jump start my creativity, and this will be it…
I can see the future generations of our family looking through this book and smiling, and laughing, and saying, huh? interesting.
Ali’s Weekend Creative Projects are always so fun, simple and inspiring.
Ali’s work is so awesome. With all that’s going on in the world right now, wouldn’t a "normal" week’s activities be just what my kids can look back on in wonder.
I have been a fan of Ali’s for quite some time. I have four young girls and trying to keep up with scrapbooking every moment is difficult…not to mention it is hard to find the time. So, when I started reading Ali’s columns and books I found someone to help me simplify my scrapbooking. With this challenge, I am going to document a week in our lives. And it is something I think the girls will enjoy years from now.
I would love to be included in this drawing, what a wonderful prize:) Ali Edwards is such an inspiration, I really love her blog and articles, and I’m definitly going to try to play along in the "week of my life"-project!
I’ve done this in one of her classes, amazing! I love looking back at how things were and amazed at how my perspective now is so different from then!
Ali is so inspirational and I want to be like her when I gro up. HAHAHA!!! I am only one year younger that her. I love to visit her blog and of course I am going to participate in this weekend creative. I just love Ali Edwards.
Ali’s work is so inspiring. I can’t wait to start this project.
I LOVE her work. It’s beautiful and simple. What I like best is that it gets to the heart of the matter without the bells and whistles. I’ve made a few of her projects and just love them.
Yay! Let’s do this together π
Ali is so inspirational. She does the coolest things. I would love to win her books.
I am going to play along with Ali. I love a chance to win!
Love Ali’s stuff and I’m always inspired by her blog.
I love Ali’s work – so inspiring! I love to scrapbook, but have not been motivated to do it for a long time due to a new baby and a move. I am excited about this project and I am hoping to do join in and get me excited about scrapbooking again.
I love Ali’s ideas and am contemplating trying this idea of ‘Week of photos’. Am checking out your blog for the first time and like it!
Ali is such an inspiration! This weekend creative project sounds fun and not too overwhelming. I think I will join in.
Ali is so inspirational! My day would not be complete without her blog!! π
I so LOVE Ali!! I love her style and just her take on life. She always insipres me to pieces! Would love to be inspired even more by winning one of her books….and I will be doing her challenge on her blog "A Week In Your Life" Challenge….sounds like tons of fun!
I’ve been anxiously awaiting Ali’s latest book to hit my LSS; thank you for the chance to win one here. She is truly an amazing and inspiring artist – her articles are the first ones I read each month in CK and her blog is filled with fun and practical suggestions for documenting your life. Thanks again!
I’m feeling that inspired feeling too! I like when someone helps me step by step. I’m jumping in!
Ali is always inspiring and never ceases to amaze with her talents! Would love to get a copy of her books! Thanks!
I week in my life…aaah I’m a new mom to a 2 month old baby boy – In his first month I took 983 pictures of him…His second month I went dramatically higher…so, any excuse to take more pictures is a plus in my book… I am going to do a week in the life of my son…It would be wonderful for him to see (when he grows up) what his routine was like as a baby from going to the baby sitter to late night feedings…Ugh!
Great idea Ali
I just started reading about scrapbooking and collage and I am a little intimidated, but excited to get going….
I love her work!!
Ali is amazing. Like you, scrapbooking always seems like a good idea, but somewhere between idea and execution I lose my inspiration. This project seems doable!
I can see from the hundred of posts that a lot are excited about doing this project..or just the chance to win one of Ali’s books. Either way it’s a win win situation! I can’t wait to do my own, whether I win or not…it’s going to be fun!
Love Ali’s work – and would love her books.
Pick me, please!
What a fabulous idea… I can’t wait to get home and grab my camera. I stumbled here from lurking at Chookooloonks and couldn’t be happier!
I really love Ali Edwards! She has the greatest blog and her simple/clean-lines approach to scrapbooking is really appealing to me right now. I went through the longest dry patch not scrapbooking because I was so overwhelmed (by life mostly) but because I would be so side-tracked with all the scrapbooking supplies/creative choices that I couldn’t focus on actually getting a project done! Thanks to Ali I actually just finished my first actual mini album project in 2 YEARS (!) and I was eager to start another one while my enthusiam was high. I would really like to have one of her books–pick me!
I love Ali’s blog. I am a scrapbooker with all the pretty embellishments, but I love her words+photo concept. Those are the 2 main components of scrapbooking.
I would love, love, love to win Ali’s books. She is very inspiring!!
Kathy
I love Ali Edwards and find her so inspirational…would love her books!
Thanks for the opportunity!
I am hoping, or I should say planning, on taking up Ali’s invitation to join her next week for this one week album. I think it is a great idea. And please enter my name into the giveaway. Thanks!
You’re so right. Ali really is an inspiration. I am also going to try her ‘a week in the life’ project. Sounds simple, but we’ll see.
I think this idea of scrapping for one week sounds great. I have been getting inspired to scrapbook, but just haven’t really done it yet. Would love to be in the drawing for Ali’s books. Thanks. -Robin
I’m going to try this – it sounds like a lot of fun!
OMG – I find Ali so very inspiring – how she does it all is beyond me – but I LOVE LOVE LOVE looking at her projects and being inspired to do something with my photos …
I would so love one of her books – inspiration to look at all the time – thanks for this chance!
Peace–Ellie
Ali is my scrapbooking hero π Thanks for the chance to win her books!
I’ve had a tough year with a multiple pregnancy, and restricted activity level — so I’ve hardly scrapbooked. Am on bedrest now, so this will be a bed rest view of my life π Will be nice to look
back upon.
Ali is an awesome human being. I would LOVE to have one of her books.
She is amazing… thanks for the new inspiration
I absolutely adore anything this woman does! She is the ultimate scraper/photograpgher/artist. She’s just too cool. I would be tickled pink to win some of her books so I could try to absorb even more of her coolness!
I agree! Ali is such a wonderful person, inspiring and allways looking for the everyday miracles. I have great admiration for her!
I’d love to have her laterst mini-books book, thats the only one i still don’t have….
I truly love this idea very much. Trouble is, I live a much too mundane life. Like an unused muscle, I am slowly beginning to atrophy. I’ll have to continue to take photos of nature and those who are willing to step in front of my camera.
I love Ali! I love Scrapbooking! And now it looks like I’m loving your website too!
Can’t wait to get started on this Ali project! I’ve never looked at my life this close before…should be an adventure!
i have promised myself to do this. for me and my family and then i will do it for my husband as well!
I’d love a chance at the books – thanks for the contest!
pick me! Pick me!
I haven’t done one of these projects before, but I am so going to love trying now!
Love the picture inspiration (both here and at Ali’s blog). Thanks so much!
What a WONDERFUL gift to offer! I LOVE Ali’s work and I going to play along with this project! What a great idea… particularly about the gas prices, etc. I love seeing old photos that reveal differences between then and now. And typically, they are ordinary, everyday photos… a great reminder you don’t just have to shoot something big! Thanks! π
Wow. I am inspired. My mother never kept photo albums or took enough pictures to really capture our childhood. The things I want to be able to look back on are the things that make you say "those were the days" or "I remember that dress". I wanted to know who my mom was and how she viewed herself as a mom, as a wife, as a friend, as a woman. Ali’s project "A Day in the Life" is more than inspiring… its life changing and memory making.
Although I do not have children of my own right now, what an incredible way for me to start the process of my life with my husband… so our kids can see who were before we were parents. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Ali is absolutely amazing!!! Her blog is apart of my daily routine, and I always leave her blog feeling motivated, inspired, and enlightened!
Oh how I’d love to get one of Ali’s books! Her work is so inspiring! I’m thinking about joining "the challenge" of an Everyday Book too…but no commitments *lol*.
Greetings from Austria,
eira
I’m glad I found this blog through Ali’s site and I think I will be a regular as well as participate in the challenge over at Ali’s.
I would LOOOOOOOOVE a copy of those books!
i love ali’s style. count me in for the drawing, please!
I’m really looking forward to documenting a week in my life this way. I’ve always wanted to go to a CKU and this is the next best thing.
I am a big Ali fan and I’m so excited to revisit A Week in the Life — I did the album in October 2007 and now I will do a followup exactly a year later!
Here is my original album… http://lawrencoope.typepad.com/photos/a_week_in_the_life/index.html
so excited about this… and scared a bit, too. ali has been inspiring me, as you spoke about. i love how she preserves memories. i have been on the verge of jumping into scrapbooking for a few months now and with this project i am going to do it. i have way to much going on now (3 kids, husband who works a lot, and i am finishing my social work degree at long last), but feel as if this is an invitation i can’t refuse. there’s more reason to just give it a try, and ali is so inviting and open to be in on it with me (us). i would love her books, as she is just such an inspiration. the more you read about her the more you want to read. thanks!
-marg
Ali has definately inspired me to really look at my scrapbooking and to think about capturing the little memories and moments. When I first began scrapbooking I felt I had to only scrapbhook or capture on film that big event and milestones in my son’s life as well as in our family. Ali doesn’t just do that. I think that smaller moments get a person to really think back and and reflect. I am very excited to start this project and I am greatful that she is doing it again through her blog. In the end, this will truely be a treasure to have years in the future.
I love Ali Edward and would love a book of hers! Pplease, please pick me! (does that sound desperate?)
I have been scrapbooking for about 7 years, but have been doing it less and less the more busy I get. This sounds like a fun, short project. Maybe I’ll start this weekend.
To Ali,
I admire your work and your spirit
so much! I check in on your page
everyday to get inspired. You raise
my spirits and I wish you so many
good things in life!!!
Many hugs to you from a scrapping granny
in Sweden.
I am a daily reader of Ali’s blog and I find her inspiring as a scrapbooker and in the way she looks at and lives life. I am also a "scrapbook failure". Years ago I made several great pages then the spark just died. For awhile my supplies lay dormant, but recently I’ve been trying to make an effort to revive my scrapbooking. I have all of Ali’s books, but I would love to give them to my mom so she can enjoy Ali’s creativity and wisdom as much as I do.
http://stephwiese.squarespace.com/?SSScrollPosition=617
I am so inspired by Ali’s blog and thought this was the coolest idea. I’m a mom and work full time and I feel like my life is just passing me by. This will be a great way to learn how to appreciate the every day moments.
A week in the life – my life. I’m pretty good at taking tons of pictures of my children, and even sneak some of DH when he’s not looking, but I rarely get pictures that include me beyond the posed with a family member kind. This should be interesting, and a tiny bit scary, and a ton of fun.
I did this project a few years back and have been thinking about revisiting it on my own. I wasn’t a mother then and now I have three boys that I adopted from Poland. You can imagine how different my life it now. I want to document a typical week…I am really excited to see the two weeks right next to each other.
Jess
Wow! Everyday life. Great concept. Ali is so respected and admired for her inspiration and realness. Thanks for the chance, would love, love, love to have them, for the opportunity to win Ali’s books.
Swoon is right! I don’t have any of her books and would LOVE theM!
Ali is the best – so sweet and inspirational at the same time!
This is the perfect giveaway for a poor student like me, who loves scrapbooking!
Love ali.
Love her books.
Love her blog.
Thank you!
This could be just the springboard I need to get into scrapbooking. I usually lose focus after a few pages, but I really enjoy the ones I finish. :O) Thanks for this resource today, I’m looking forward to jumping in!
I’ve been increasing my scrapbooking efforts…and Ali Edwards is definitely an inspiration!! Very excited to be included in the chance to win a book of hers!
I have to agree that Ali is wonderful. I have been inspired by her blog, articles and classes. There is something amazing about getting a project DONE!
I want to try this as well. I did my christmas cards the way she did and I love it! I plan to make other LO’s with all my other cards I have saved over the years too. I think this is a good idea as well. I want to do this one too.
I would love to have her books! Thanks for adding me.
Nancy James
I check Ali’s blog daily and always leave inspired.
I would love the chance to win these books of hers.
I have been reading Ali’s blog for about a year now and I am so inspired every day by it and all that she does. I would love to win one of her books!

Yes Ali’s blog and work are awesome. I am hoping to try her week in the life this coming week and hope I get one done.
I want to thank Ali to the link to your site – I think it’s great and I will be visiting again.!
This sounds like an interesting challenge to capture the scraps, and the core of our daily life. We will have 5 normal days and 2 travel days so a little bit of everything.
I am so impressed with Ali. She is so creative and I love how she is so willing to share her ideas!!
i love ali’s easy, practical approach to memory keeping: every day stuff. simple. complete. i would love to win this fab prize!
I’ve always wanted to do an Ali album as all my bff’s have done them so this is a great time to try it out especially since this is two weeks before my 4th child is born it will be nice to document the before and after the last child is born and what that means to our family .. Thanks for the opportunity ..
Cheers ~ Scrappy Val

Ali amazes me with how she documents the everyday. She reminds me that every day is special and it needs to be recorded. I am really looking forward to doing this project with her!
I love Ali’s blog and would like to get inspired by her new book.
I love how inspired I get when I read Ali’s blog. I’m so excited to be doing this project starting this week. I’ve needed to do this sort of thing for a long time. I’m not sure if I’ll do a whole album or if I’ll just do several scrapbook pages documenting my week. π Thanks for the chance to win one of theses books! π
Mel in Oklahoma
I love Ali’s work and how she can inspire others. Thanks for the giveaway!
Melissa
Ali inspires me everyday. I am going to do this!

Hey, I think I might play along w/Ali’s project too. It sounds like fun.
I am an avid Ally fan. She makes it look so easy. I love scrapping, but I sometimes get a little overwhelmed. Ally brings it all back into perspective.
Tricia from Southern Illinois
I’ve been a fan of Ali ever since I took her "Week in the Life" class at CKU, what 3/4 years ago. Loved the project and getting ready to do it again…..
I can hardly wait to start this project. I’ve always wanted to do this; Now I have no excuse. Thanks for the push Ali! Your are truly inspiring.
I am going to try to do it this time too! I figure if Ali thinks we make her accountable to do the project, she is making me accountable! Thanks for the fun giveaway opportunity to win!
I am such a huge fan of Ali. I love this idea and I am doing it with a friend. We are headed to CPR in Stamford and we are going to try to get it done before our trip! Thanks for the give away!
I like to make the books but they don’t have pictures…I like to read Ali’s blog and look at her books.
I am yet another fan of Ali Edwards! She is so inspiring and creative. Just wish I had more "craft time" in my busy life. Maybe this Week in the Life project is just what I need and those books too!!!
This is the push I need to get going on a new project… nothing like stack of new books to dive into a crisp fall night.
I love Ali’s work and would love to own any book of hers!
Please include me in this one- I need all the help/inspriation I can get!
I have loved and admired Ali’s style for years and am a frequent visitor to her blog. I would love one of her books for additional inspiration! Thanks to you and Ali for this giveaway chance π
This is an exhilirating assignment…..one week in the life of….I’m game….question in my mind just now ‘If Not Now Then When?’ What if this were the last week of my life? I would definitely incorporate what I most passionate into jampacked days of spending time with my children, photography, letters to those I care for…spending time under the Sun….swimming nude in the open sea…..seeing this world with my eyes wide open…and not just awake….this assignment is a gift that I’m giving to myself…I will take this mindset with me, Ali and I will start today…making time for the loves listed above and not making do or excuses…until later…since now is only time that matters…thank you for the recent wake up call and please consider me for the giveaway, I am so grateful!

Ali is very inspiring.
this is so so generous of you. I love ali and am inspired by her daily π
I would LOVE to receive Ali’s books. She is so inspiring.
Yep, she’s great!!! I love her clean style. And I like it, that also other people (like me) are driving their family and friends crazy by taking ton of "only the normal photos".
I love Ali’s work and was lucky enough to take the class at a CKU. I’m going to do it again and not stress – just try to document the everyday things that I take for granted.
I love Ali Edwards – she’s such an inspirational person and scrapbooker!!!
I {heart} Ali. I completed this album about 3 years ago at CKU San Jose- my life is totally different now- I think it’s time to try it again!

Ali E is by far my favourite scrapbooker! I love reading her blog, with her little bursts of inspiration & the insight into her life.

I am going to try to do this challenge-I would love one of Ali Edwards books-she is amazing and inspiring.
Thanks for the opportunity and the best to you with your attempt to scrapbook.
I am so excited!! I am both a traditional and a digital scrapbooker, but am not very good at hybrid. I usually do one or the other so I am thrilled to be inspired by Ali!!!
I am new to reading your blog but share your enthusiasm for Ali Edwards! I love getting ideas from her blog!
I love Ali’s blog. I am a huge fan. I was also very happy that she introduced us to your blog too. I like it too b/c I am an avid photographer too. I think of scrapbooking more like creating photo albums or an extension of photography. The end product is the ultimate satisfaction. We must commend Ali for being so very giving and gracious to share all this information with us. I am very thankful for her site and I look forward to it everyday. She is inspirational and a wealth of information.
You MUST love Ali! This is such a great project. I haven’t scrapped much this summer – maybe this is just what I need!
I love Ali Edward’s clean and simple style. I love how she shares so much with all of her fellow scrappers. I’d love to win these treasures!!
HI! I am sooo inspired by this project! Some girls I work with took her class and showed me their album but I just never took the time to do it… now is the perfect time so I can follow along. My husband is in Iraq and I would love to send him something like this for xmas so he can feel like he was here!
Thanks again for re-inspiring me!
I would love to be the proud owner of Ali’s Books. I am new to scrapbooking and I am sure her books will guide me in the right direction.
I read Ali everyday and she continually amazes me! I have taken her "week in the life class and think it is a good time to make another one!
I love scrap book supplies.
I don’t scrap book. I collect.
I sometimes make little bound books with the papers, but I’ve never been able to get it together enough to actually get a project off the ground. I go to Ali’s site to drool.
I’m trying Ali’s "challenge" this week. I’m starting this weekend instead of Monday because, hey, I’m taking pictures this weekend anyway for a mixed media project. (Heading to the cemetery to take pics of graveyard art.)
Wish me luck!
Viki
I have been in such a rut lately with not only scrapbooking but with my life in general it seems. Maybe this project will help jump start not only my creative side but me in general. Boy, do I need it! Thanks for the chance to win!
Amy S.
I am a long time Ali fan. Love her stuff and how she is constantly evolving as a designer, bringing something fresh and new to the table.
Ali is amazing!
DonΒ΄t stop at 4 pages of scrapbooking- you can do it!!!
I am going to take AliΒ΄s challenge as well, it sounds like fun.
I absolutely adore Ali Edwards and read her blog religiously. I am a scrapper but the presence of "me" is really lacking in my books so I thought this project would be a perfect way to include myself. Thanks for the great giveaway.
This may be just the thing to help spring board my new self-imposed daily photo challenge. And the obvious lesson here is – if you want lots of comments offer a free give away π
I too love anything and everything Ali has done. She makes it look effortless.
I love Ali’s work and her creativity. She has so many great ideas and she does them. You have to admire that! Starting is so difficult. I may join t his one.
Ali is wonderful. I can’t wait to play along.
I love Ali’s work and am always inspired by her blog. I was THRILLED to see you recgonizing that over on Shutter Sisters, too, as I have recently been visiting your great blog as well. Can’t wait to join her on this wonderful project!
I’m always checking Ali’s blog. She’s a constant source of inspiration for me, both in terms of scrapbooking, and life in general.
I can’t wait to try this. Love the idea of everyday.
I feel the same way – i get OVERLY-INSPIRED so often and tend to put projects off. I think I maybe can do this project too!
I took Ali’s Album class and created an Album 2 years ago. I’d love to do it again. It was so much fun taking my camera with me all week and snapping pictures everywhere I went and everything I did. Some strange looks when you are at the ATM and taking pictures of your card and receipt! It would be so much fun to see what is the same and what has changed in my weekly routines since then.
Ali rocks and I think I will do this week in my life project. Little snapshots and bites of your regular life are so cool to look back on!
I’ve been reading Ali’s blog for a couple months now and she’s really inspired me to get back into scrapbooking. I’m so far behind and have a new baby I need to scrap for. These and so many other things have been stopping me from getting started again. Ali reminds me that it’s about telling the story of my & my family’s life. I’ve learned from her that nothing’s perfect and that’s OK. I should pick up my camera & some supplies and jump right in, wherever I am now! I’m so excited to get started and some of Ali’s books would be the additional push I need! Thanks Ali!
Hi – I am going to join in ali’s challenge and would love one the books!
I think Ali is so inspiring – I wish I was as organised and motivated as her.
I’m really new to this artform, and learning so much. I’ve been reading Ali’s blog for a while now, and really love her vision and the way her pages mix beauty with a message. I’ve been meaning to pick up one of her books – maybe now I won’t have to! (fingers and toes crossed!)
Ali’s work is great and I’m going to be participating in her week long project. Very exciting! I’ve got a great journal book to use for this as well.
I just finished this same idea "a week in the life of …." for both of my daughters this summer. I had the most fun doing it. Thank you for posting this as I would have never have thought of doing the same thing for myself. I also love the different ideas that Ali has suggested. I can’t wait to get started!!!!
Just bought Life Artist and waiting for it to arrive. Love the idea of this week long project. I might be able to handle that!
Ali inspires me so much, I would love a book of hers!!!!
What a great prize! Thanks for the chance.
Stephanie S. in Woodbridge,VA
I need a creative jumpstart. This looks like just the thing.
I am a dark side digital scrapper but I am inspired by Ali!
i am a huge fan of ali edwards and shuttersisters as well!
Just love Ali. I was fortunate enough to be able to take one of her classes, "Today You". It is one of my husband’s favorites.
ALi is so talented and just terrific at making you comfortable in trying something new, something outside your normal comfort zone.
What a great project! I am on board and ready to capture a week in my life as it’s happening…I can’t wait!
I am going to try this project too. Can’t wait!
love ali. love her books. really would love a copy!
Game on!! This should be fun!! My mind is clicking away at the normalcies of my life! Now, I have to decide…will it be a 12×12, 8×11 or 8×8!!??!!
Ali Rocks…she takes the stress out of scrapping…and remembering what is important.
I am really looking forward to trying out this project. Since I digiscrap it’ll be a tad easier… I hope?!
Ali is one of my favorite scrapbook designers. I mostly scrap big events in my kids lives. I am excited to try scrapping my everyday life. Thanks for the inspiration Ali!
Scapping is my stress relief and I need to indulge. I think I’ll play along with Ali next week. Glad she introduced me to you. I’ll be back.
I canΒ΄t believe! My two favorite blogs united in a project. As I read the AliΒ΄s blog every day, even as relay, because I always find something new, and really, I love what she does and how it expresses.
And all Thursday (even friday), since February, for me, is Love Thursday. I’ve learned to look at every day looking for good things, to find hearts in the sky, and I discovered many people with an incredible talent from which I learn every day.
I love to join on this creative week.
You make me very happy. Kisses from Spain
uauuu!! One copy of each title??? I wanted, please, please!!!
I take a lot of photos, but they stay in my computer. I need to print them out because I have lots of scrapbooking materials and I know my girls would enjoy actually taking the materials OUT of the box.
A week in the life sounds intriguing. I’m going to check it out.
Being an Ali-fan but not a scrapbooker I would sooo love to win her books though I don’t know if this is a good week to document, though, who knows? Maybe every week is a potential good or bad one beforehand? π
Love all of Ali’s books!!!!!
I’ve been meaning to try scrapbooking for a while now as a way to do more with the gazillion photos I have stored on my hard drive, and Ali Edwards is one of the main reasons why I’m giving it a shot.
Ali’s inspiring! Starting my week in a life album with football game pics in a few hours.
oh my heavens – found your blog through ali edwards, and i’m going to have to stick around explore bit now. simply loving what you have going on here! thanks for sharing your gifts with the world! i’m on board for a week in the life…
I like scrapbooking. I love the idea of documenting events. I think it developed my hobby of photography and now I have an empty Christmas album waiting for me to work on. I need some inspiration! π
Ali is amazing. The way she breaks things down helps anyone to be creative, even people who are not "inclined" to be so. I too am going to give this week long project a try!
Don’t know how she does it all, but Ali is definitely inspirational. I’m planning to take on this challenge – and hoping I’ll be able to follow through.
what a great blog and talent!! glad i found you thru ali.
Hillary
I love Ali and would love a chance to win her books! I look foward to working on this project. π
Yes Ali has inspired me to and I’m accepting her invitation – Now just hope my week isn’t to boring – it would be a bit boring having the same pics on every page of my album
Melissa
how exciting. i have another blog crush π
Ali inspired me to start a Photo a Day project last year that only lasted until March. But this year…I am at photo 270/366 and counting down to the end. I love the idea of trying to scrap a week in my life along with Ali and despite my treasured procrastination gene I will be giving it a go.
Ali rocks and I am so glad that she shared your sight because it is beautiful!
How what a great blog candy package! I would love to win these!! thanks, Lisa K in TX
Ali is an amazingly creative and giving person! I love that she keeps her scrapping meaningful.
I *heart* Ali Edwards. Her books and columns are so refreshing. I love hearing stories about Simon!
thank you!! aebg1974 at bellsouth dot net
Ali’s blog is the first one I click to each morning. She is so inspiring. I am really excited to do this project. I have haven’t done anything like it. I need her books!!
Ali is one of my all time favorites, and I do scrapbook, but I have found your blog so inspiring! The photos are amazing. That’s the inspiration for my week in the life – better photos!
I love Ali’s work. She is my number 1 scrapbooking ‘mentor’ and i am really excited to do this project, too!
I love Ali’s creativity, have since the begining. Usually scrap with almost nothing but with great pictures as the base. Scrapbooking is a way for me to remember greast moments/emotions. Will be interesting to try this vision with our everyday life instead, so we can remember in a few years what the small things where all about and not just the big moments.
I am going to try hard to do this. Ali’s work is so inspiring–now to find the time!
I’m with you. Ali has been inspiring me for years! Thanks for the chance to win.
LOVE Ali’s work, would LOVE to win these books. Can’t wait to work on this challenge this week.
I love ali’s blog, books, scrapbook pages, inspiration, etc. I would love to win one of her two newest books. Thanks for the chance!
ali rocks! would love to win copies of her books
Ali is so inspiring. I’m doing a version of this project once a month for a year. It’s been very thought provoking. Thanks for reading my little comment.
I couldn’t agree more with you! Ali likes to share and sharing is good! I am teacher first, then a scrapbooker, and a witness of life. And she inspires me beyond the horizon. Her creativity not only with photos but with writing is such an inspiration, and I am always looking for a way to adjust my teaching of writing with her creative ideas!
I love Ali’s work. It’s so inspiring–a great reminder to treasure the everyday moments. I’m planning to do the week in the life and document gratitude for the moments of grace each day. (Although it’s off to an unusual start because our house was broken into–so that might put a new spin on my perspective.)
What a great prize!!
I’m still trying to scrapbook but I think I love looking at the projects than doing my own…can’t wait to look around this site – thanks for the chance!
Thanks for the chance to win! I am a huge fan of Ali’s!
Hi, I love Ali Edwards, and am so inspired by her work, I can’t wait to start taking photos next week. I am quite slack when it comes to scrapbooking and ALWAYS say tommorrow, but this way it is documenting my life. My life as it is now. Not 2morrow, not yesterday. Today. I am very exciting and cant wait to play along!
ali rocks!!! i’ve followed her for years … she is amazing! π
I just started scrapbooking and want to finish two scrapbooks for my daughters for Christmas…but I keep losing motivation and get side tracked.
Help….I think these books would motivate, inspire and educate me.
Thank you for the giveaway….good luck everyone!!
Pick me! I "think" I can do this "week in the life" project. I’m even wondering how I can adapt it for my ESOL students!
I am going to try this scrapbook project, then I am going to show it to my husband so he can have a visual of the "little things" that take up "big" amounts of time. I hope I win a book.
I love Ali’s work. Since I got into scrapbooking she has been so inspiring to me. It’s just something about really taking the time and the photos of your everyday life that is so beautiful. I would love to have one of her books.
Can’t wait to start this project–so fun!
I am ready to become inspired more. I need the push!! π
I love this kind of project – because even if it is the only scrapbooking a person ever does, it will be such a treasure to look back on later.
I may have to wait a little while to participate (my camera is being cleaned π ) but I definitely intend to.
My scrapbooking has been very sporadic, I find myself mainly collecting supplies. I plan on taking Ali up on the invitation. She is so amazingly creative.
It’s the first week of the school holidays here in NZ so it’s going to be fun to take photos… but I might just have to do it again as well when the kids are back at school and life is a little more routine.
Very cool blog. I love how Ali is always challenging us daily.
I am definitely doing this and I am starting tomorrow. I can’t wait!
Ali Edwards makes scrapbooking manageable, do-able, fun and meaningful! Her approach is relaxed yet her finished project is professional. For anyone wanting to give scrapbooking a go, Ali is in my list of three teacher/guides you MUST turn to.
You are so true…she is a total inspiration! And I would totally love to have a book based on her amazing way of looking at life!!
This sounds like a fun challenge. Of course, as I look at my work week, each day is the same. Oh well, it will still be interesting to document what I did.
After reading Ali Edwards’ Life Artist book, I have been an Ali fan. Her scrapbooking style is an inspiration, she is very talented, and she has achieved what so many women today try to accomplish: a work/life balance. I read her blog every day and continue to be inspired by her. Her new book is on its way to me now…..I can’t wait! I will definitely be doing the project described on her blog for this week.
I am always up for a challenge so this will be interesting! Ali’s projects are always inspirational.
winning ali’s books would be awesome!!!thanks.
I’ve always loved Ali’s work. She is so inspirational π I’m excited to start this week in the life project. Thanks for the opportunity to win Ali’s books!
I love Ali and am jumping in to "in the life" next week with both feet!
Wow, I’ve never even tried to scrapbook before, but after checking out Ali’s work I’m totally inspired!
I agree that Ali has some fabulous resources on her blog. I have not read any of her books but expect that they are equally inspiring.
I just started scrapbooking this year and I love it. I don’t get to do it as much as I’d like but I am going to do the daily photo thing and see where it leads. I would love to win the books. I love Ali. She is great!
Ali reminds me of what life is all about… slowing down and treasuring that which is important! This project is one I can’t wait to begin! Cheers!
Man! What a totally cool opportunity to be inspired by Ali!
Count me in! π
Wow! what an amazing giveaway. I love Ali’s style and can admit that I have been drooling over her books for quite some time now. Would love to win them.
Leigh Anne
I regularly read Ali’s blog and am always looking for new links to other photographers. Thanks for giving us a heads up for this blog. It will be going in my favorites.
Looks like a lot of fun! I’m definitely going to play along.
I am *so* going to do this as well. I love being inspired by Ali!
I love Ali’s work! She’s dabomb!
would love to win Ali’s new book!
Ooo… pick me! Ali is my hero!
I’d have to agree with you…Ali is definitely one inspiring gal. I love checking out her blog and would love her books as a part of my library.
Ali makes every day worth celebrating, showing us that everything counts. Even the little things.
i’m visiting here all the time, but i’m too shy to share any of my photos here. today i think i’ll delurk though, because i love this project :).
this is an awesome photo of ali. a great way to capture the beauty of someone so real, so genuine, so honest and so fantastic, cheers to you ali and thanks for continuing to inspire me. i think i’m going to take ‘a week in your life’ journey, it comes at a good time for me, thank you! creative cheers, rachel
I admirer Ali’s take on simplicity. I have taken this approach with scrapbooking and keeping my closet clean. : )
I love Ali and how inspiring she is. She makes you think, like REALLY think… and appreciate all the big and little things….
π She’s inspired me to start scrapbooking… π
There is no better scrapbooker than Ali Edwards. Not that the pages are the most elaborate and have gobs of the latest and greatest product but because they’re so real. She truly captures what scrapbooking is all about. If you’ve never scrapbooked but take fabulous pictures think of what someone will wonder years from now when they see the picture. Who is that girl? Where was she? Why was she dressed up? Did she always wear a single braid? Get it? I have a fabulous picture of a little girl who somewhat resembles me and somewhat resembles my deceased Mother. Oh how I wish I knew who that little girl was! Haven’t done this project yet and am so excited she decided to take us all along for the ride! I’ll be snappin’ pics this week!
I am inspired by Ali Edwards and her message of taking the ordinary, day to day events in your life and making it meaningful and memorable. This project is an exciting journey that I am looking forward to exploring.
I have recently become a big fan of Ali Edwards. I just received the Creaking Keepsakes DVD that spotlights Ali and loved it. I am excited to try this project of a Week of My Life.
this project is just the inspiration i need right now! i’ve been on a scrapbook sabbatical since i gave birth to my daughter. my everyday life has definitely changed since!
I love reading Ali! want to work on her newest project for sure!
Ali is the one person that inspires me the most in scrapbooking.
She keeps it simple and love that she does pages that are your every day life.
I met her once at CKU Atlanta and I felt like I was meeting a movie star.
Ali your awesome keep up the great work.
I love Ali and her approach to life and art. There is always something to learn or ponder on her blog.
I hear you on Ali E – she is super inspiring and I love her work too. Am def going to partake in the Week in the Life project!
I love scrapbooking! I will go check out her blog. http://flickr.com/photos/maknj/2783440636/in/set-72157606190852774/
I was lucky enough to take an album class from Ali and be inspired. I lucky enough to be introduced to your blog through Ali’s blog. Thanks for the inspiration. Love your blog too.
This is funny because I just tried doing this same thing a few weeks back and got lost about half way through (not keeping up with photos & journaling) but I think I’ll give it another try. Would love to turn it into a mini book. Speaking of books, i would love to get my hands on her new book about minis, that would be awesome.
I simply love Ali! I started scrapbooking last year, and I was so hooked to Ali’s column in CK magazine, I signed up a 2 years subscription immediately. I had her first 3 books and they always provide me with great inspirations. I love to read what she wrote, as though I am listening to an old friend talking, so sincere, so real. Love her creativity and her spirit!
I’m such a fan of Ali Edwards as most scrapbookers are. She just comes up with such cool ideas and is not afraid of sharing it. I’ll definitely play along with this project! π
Like hundreds of other scrappers, I am a devoted Ali fan. Take a class with her and you begin to understand her passion that all things "ordinary" are truly extra-ordinary. Her style is timeless, as are the memories she captures. DO jump in and document a week in YOUR life.
i too check out her blog regularly and just love the inspiration.
and this latest concept? very cool… and relevant for today’s busy lifestyle.
what i wouldn’t give to peek in on a detailed typical week, long ago of my grandmother’s…. or even my mom’s. how amazing would it be for our kids and grandkids to look back on what a typical week or handful of days were like for us?
such a great ‘piece of heritage’ idea!
Extremely excited! I am always the face behind the camera so this is a push to get on the other side! Taking pics of me because this is my life too ~ yeah! Wishing everyone a fun time with this project!
I love Ali’s work ad am very excited to try this project. I enjoy scrapbooking but don’t have a lot to show for it yet. Thnaks for this chanceas I would love to receve the books to get the extra boost to get out there and scrap. Beverly
Hi! I’m a big fan of Ali. She is such a good inspiration to a lot of scrapbookers. Hope i’ll win one of her books. Thanks for the opportunity.
I must admit I often say " I will do it after I finish <insert task here>" then get to the end of the day and have no gas left in the tank. Think I might try this one too!
What a fun contest! I’m hoping to make an album in a week too, and like you, I’m thinking that maybe this one will really happen. I think it will be so neat when it’s completed. Thanks for the inspiration, and the chance to win!
Sara
Ali is so inspiring~I love to read her blog, but I don’t have any of her books~yet! I feel like I know her and want to throw the biggest baby shower in the world for the Edwards Family!
I heart Ali Edwards. This is the statement on repeat in my head everytime I see her name in Creating Keepsakes or any other scrapping mag I receive (there are like 4). Scrapbooking for me is an outlet and a vice. It has become more like an obsession. As I do it at my dining room table until the wee hours of the night, I dream of the beautiful space I’ll one day have—but I scrap like I’m already in that place.
thank you for recognizing her here…she truly is a shutter sister.
I’m in, I love Ali, she has such cool simple ideas. One week, I can do this right?!
Julie
Ooooh, Ali is so inspiring both in her scrapbooking and photography! I would love to own all of her books.
"Prepare to be inspired". I think I’ll use that as my mantra for this week and I will seriously try to participate in Ali’s challenge…especially since I love Autumn and have been meaning to go for a walk and take pics. Looking forward to what you come up with, also!
Thanks for this chance! Cheers!
ALi’s inspiring, and so are your photos. Sometimes, It’s easier to do things when we’ve got company…I’ll try to take photos over a week too!
I love Aliβs style and work. Everything she does is just so perfect. I have got one of her books and cannot explain how much she has influenced me and pointed me in the right direction. I would love to have the chance to read her other books. Thank you for the opportunity.
I am going to dive in and take Ali up on the invitation…I have read the articles in Creating Keepsakes and thought that would be cool to do…Well this time I’m going to just do it…What could be more fun? A week in the life of MOM, 2nd Grade Teacher, wife, scrapbooker…YIPPEE!!! off to start the TO DO LIST
I too find her work (and life, admittedly) so inspiring. Right here and now, I am commitimg to this week project (altho my heart is full of but, but, but!!!!) I would love to win her books, a fall full of inspiration!! Thanks for the opportunity!
Love Ali’s work and plan on trying her project a try next week. Finding a new blog and a chance at winning a book….what’s not to love?
HUGE fan of Ali’s! I’m stoked to play along with this.
I’m definitely going to try to do this week’s project. Love Ali’s style. Would really enjoy getting her last book (mini albums). That’s the only one I don’t have yet.
Thanks for the giveaway. Aloha!
Thank you for this wonderful giveaway! Ali is an inspiration, I would love to win her books!
this is definately on my list, Ali is amazing!
I adore Ali’s work! Thanks for this great give-a-way!
Tracey, thanks for a freat giveaway! I love Ali’s blog and her ideas, that’s new project of hers is great and I’ll be delighted to join! And I’d like to win the books or one of them as there are almost no possibility to buy them in Russia!
Kindest regards,
Anastasia
I’ve been following Ali’s blog for a few years now and love the glimpses into her life with her hubby and gorgeous son. And I love her style of scrapping – I like especially that she embraces simplicity – and reminds us that scrapping is about the story, recording the feelings and memories, not the striving for perfection in the creation of the art. Thanks for the chance to win!
I love Ali Edwards’ stuff too… so having her books would be an added bonus to my collection. I’ve decided to attempt this "week in the life" thing too… here’s hoping I can follow through and finish.
ooh that sounds like an interesting project!
I LOVE reading Ali’s blog. She is truly an inspiration and it is a joy to have peek into her daily life. Her family is truly blessed to have such a great summary of their lifes through her albums. I would love to have one of Ali’s books to inspire me to do the same for my family!
I did a couple of Ali’s classes when she came to NZ and she is an amazing inspiration. I love her account of everyday life and how she makes the ‘normal’ seem more special somehow.
Definitely going to look at doing this project over the next week.
btw – Im glad all of this brought me to your website – look forward to following your blog.
I love the idea of this project, I can’t wait to get started, and I would love to have the rest of her books to add to my collection.
I live Ali’s work, so simple but so detailed. Not sure if I could do the week project just yet. Something to look forward to… will be following the blog π
I’ve just visited your site for the 1st time. Am very keen on photography & digital scrapbooking, but finding time is quite a challenge. I love to read about what others are doing, so it’s great to be here.
Can’t wait to try this week in the life of – so great to document the ordinary every day stuff π
I am totally inspired by Ali and I’ve been following her blog for a while now. I’m going to try her project too! It is doable for me, as I can do a little a night!! I would love to win any of her books!! Thanks for the chance!
Since Ali is the one whose clean, modern style and focus on telling the story of the everyday is what is inspiring me to start scrapbooking, I’d love to have one of her titles.
Right now I’ve got cardstock in three neutral colours and a few simple patterns for accents. All I need now is a small sweep of time, and I’m going to start. I want to be the photojournalist of my own life, to document all the everyday things, as a gift to the future me who may find them old-fashioned and charming.
Man, I would love a copy of each of Ali’s Book! Some for me, some for Christmas presents!!
I love Ali’s work. She is an inspiration for many scrapbookers.
Thanks for giving us this opportunity.
I totally agree….ali has such a talent for combining her great photos with the stories to make a treasured books for her family. Great job!
Oh I hope I get lucky.. and I plan to take this challenge too.. no matter how dull my life is.
Your site is great too–lots of creativity to be found:) I also love Ali’s blog and have started scrapbooking because of her inspiring words and designs; I’d love to use her books as inspiration too.
I love Ali’s ideas and so enjoy her books! I love the idea of this and being invited to participate!
I used to follow Ali back when I scrapbooked…but then I decided to take some photography classes so I would have better images for my scrapbooking, and somehow became obsessed with photography and now I never get around to scrapping any more. Ali is so creative and talented, this may just be the inspiration to get me back to working on those scrapbooks again! I love her approach — simple, uncomplicated, graphic and embracing IMPERFECTION. YEA!
I think this will be a great way for me to see just how much my "usual life" is actually pretty spectacular. Plus, it gives me a chance to use my new camera π
I just found your blog through Ali’s. Awesome photography. I will be visiting often.
Chris
I just found your blog through Ali’s. Awesome photography. I will be visiting often.
Chris
I just love Ali’s work! I’m looking forward to taking part in this project.
Ali is so inspirational, and I don’t even scrapbook. I am, however, planning on doing this project…one way or another.
Wow, your pictures are awesome. There is an artistic sense of reality to it. I know that sounds contradictory!
Oh my! I would so love to win those books, Ali is awesome!
Thanks!
I have been reading Ali’s blog for a few months now and she has led me to you. I am touched by your relationship with your father, very similar to mine but his creative process was food. I am now a chef married to a chef and missing how much he would have loved that. I am inspired by this project and decided to start immediately yesterday(to the demise of my 13 year old daughter) and I am loving it!! It will be an extraordinary week of just the ordinary! I can’t wait to follow you on your project too! Good Luck!
I’ve been reading Ali’s blog for a long time now and just found this one. Scrapbooking is such a passion for me and I’m always surprised to see photographers who don’t scrap their photos. Glad you are inspired to try an album.
Ali is always always be my inspiration. I am so in this ‘class’!! It’s like a week class with her in CKU.And anyone who miss this kind of chance really don’t know what they’ll miss!
I am determined to do this project. I love scrapbooking, but there’s nothing in my scrapbooks about me. Although it feels awkward to focus on myself rather than on others, I think this will be good for me. I’m going to let go of worrying about whether or not anyone else will like it or think it’s silly, etc. I really appreciate the talent Ali has for taking the ordinary and elevating it to a place of importance. This will be fun!
I think I will give this a try. π
LOVE LOVE LOVE Ali’s approach to everything. Clean, simple, it’s okay if it is not perfect…that works for me!
Oh, yes! I’m in, I’m in!
I love scrapbooking, but also couldn’t keep up too long doing it each time I tried…
Ali’s blog is one of only a couple I visit almost daily. I love the clean simple way she documents her life.
Hey there,
I’m a new stay at home mom, which means more time for me to scrapbook! Everyday i discover new things, reading blogs is one of them! I’ve been putting off a project like this, even with all the time on my hands, i think this contest (and Ali’s blog) will help encourage me to get the movin! Oh, and i hope to win those books.
Ali is truely inspirational. I love reading her blog. I love how her pages focus on the pictures and the words.
I am so excited about the Week in my life project. This comes at perfect time as next week should just be ordinary.
I have been a big fan of Ali’s work and creativity for years. I would love to win. I love your blog too!!
Ali is amazing…and you sound a lot like me…inspired by Ali and overwhelmed with what to do with all the photos!!
I’d like to be inspired. Have a great weekend.
i tried to do this on my own last year and petered out! i get so much inspiration from ali’s perspective and style.
I am excited for the chance to win Ali Edward’s book. I just read her blog about this challenge and will add her blog to my favorites so I can follow along this week. It sounds like a fun chanllenge. Thanks for sharing, Jenny
Ali is amazing. love her simple but stunning pages!
Love following Ali and being inspired by her. Really looking foward in taking part in this challenge and capturing life right now!

I’d love a chance to win. Ali’s blog is very inspirational.
Ali’s books always look so awesome! I would love to win a copy!!
I can’t wait to document my " week in the life…" It’s my last week in a job that I love, to set out on the adventure of my very own classroom. It’s certainly worth remembering, that’s for sure!
I am totally with you! I have 2 12×12 pages scrapped from my wedding (5 years ago!!!) and I’m starting small again… this time I actually completed a mini chipboard book of my daughter’s 2nd bday. I’m gonna take Ali’s challenge and try to document my week…
I have been a fan of Ali Edwards since about 2005 when I stumbled across her work on Two Peas in a Bucket. Living in SA I was never able to attend CKU and do her "A Week in the Life" class, so I am SO thrilled to be able to do it now and have her wonderful inspiration to get it done!
Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway :o)
Oh, my. Yes, yes, yes please. I adore Ali, her style speaks to me and I just love all of her work.
I am on the other side, in that I scrapbook (or scraplift) but cannot take photos very well. I am happy to find your blog and will add it to my favorites. I do love Ali and am blessed to have been in her classes a few times!
It’s easy to see why you got inspired by Ali. I know I always do whenever I see her work.
I’ve been a fan of Ali’s for several years now. I haven’t scrapbooked much in the past couple of years, but I keep saying that I need to get back into it. . .
Great idea! Usually I’m not very organized person and try to avoid this type of projects, however this time I’ll try to actually do it:) Very exciting!!
I love Ali Edwarda and all her stuff. she is a true inspiration to me in my scrapbooking and challenges me daily to look at my everyday life. i follow her blog and her columns and enjoy reading all that she writes. thanks for sharing with her about the beauty of words+photos to document life!
I love Ali Edwards scrapbook style.
Ali Edwards … amazing! I’m heading right back to your blog as soon as I finish this comment. Everyday life … what a wonderful keepsake for your children or, yikes, your children’s children.
I would love to win the books to keep me inspired. : )
Ali is such an inspiration to me. She has definitely helped me to unclutter my scrapbooking world and just enjoy the process of creating and appreciating all the little things. Thanks!
I agree… Ali’s work is definitely inspiring! I’m planning to do the week in the life project next week, too! -Sharyn
Love Ali! Would love to read + be inspired by her books π
Maybe if I win one of her books I’d actually use all of the scrapbooking stuff I have but am afraid of committing to. π
Doing Ali’s "A Week in the Life" 2 years ago absolutely changed my life and the way I view my art. And I SWORE I would never be a "scrapper." Now I am fully obsessed. π
xoxo

Totally. Ali Edwards is so inspiring! I’m going to attempt this process also.
Ali’s project sounds awesome! She is so inspiring. I would love to own her books.
Love Ali’s creativity. She inspires so many people by sharing her stories. Glad to hear you are giving this a try.
Best of luck. Relax and have fun.
I am definitely inspired by Ali’s work, and am planning my week in the life book as I write this….can’t wait to do it!
I’m not a scrapbooker- I print my photos and put them in photoboxes. I love being able to thumb through them all. I am in AWE of those that do scrapbook- so much creativity!!
I am so happy that Ali has a blog to follow. She really is an inspiration to many. I plan on doing her challenge too, but it will probably be a week late as my camera bit the dust and I need to get out to purchase a new one.
Thanks
I am a fan of Ali’s! She is sooo inspiring and this project is a wonderful one!
…..can’t refuse a give-away! π
off to check out the invitation now!
I did a "week in the life album" 2 years ago. It was during my mothers transplant operation, so of course alot of hospital references! I am really looking forward to doing another album now that she is well!
Amazing as always Ali is an inspiration of what to do to create art from photos and document the everyday.
I can’t wait to do this activity as well. Big Ali fan.
I’m in for the week!
I love Ali’s 7 day album idea and I can’t wait to try it!
And I sure could use some more of her inspiration, since I seem to have hit a very bad dry spell.
I wish there was a clock on your site (smile). Living in a different part of the world, I haven’t a clue what time of day it is in your part.
So, it’s only a week, right? That’s do-able… even with my crazy busy life.
I think I’ll jump on this bandwagon this week too!!!
I am new to scrapping and to these creative blogs, but I love how this new passion has opened up the world for me and made me notice the beauty in the details. Of scrap pages, but also of everyday life. I see things better than I have, and that comes from trying to put together a visual image that conveys a certain message. Ali is very inspiring, as are you!
I am doing this kind of daily record for September. It has been wonderful and hard and tiring and eye-opening. Yes, I am enjoying it and hate to see it end. I will try a week in October thanks to Ali’s blog.

What an excellent idea — capturing all of the little things that make up our life. Things we normally consider too small to scrapbook.
I’d love to get Ali’s books! I’m in on this project too, what a fun way to a document the everyday.
I love Ali’s work. I am like you in that I scrapbook very few pages, but I do try to keep plugging away. Ali is definitely an inspiration for that. This project is on my list for this week!
I love Ali!
awesome! i loooooove to scrapbook, but every day i seem to have less and less time. truth is i have not scrapbooked since A was born and she’s almost 1. Buaaa. i think i just might try the week in the life of and get my self back into scrapbooking. wish me luck =).
Ali is da bomb! I love how she has shared her incredible eye for design and her journey with Simon is so inspirational! And shutter sisters is inspirational as well!!
Ali is da bomb! She has shared her vision for design and her incredible journey with autism. Simon is such a cutie! Love the shutter sisters too!!!
This might be just what I need to get me out of my creative funk! She is really inspirational.
I’m going to try this, school holidays in oz, so won’t be a normal "normal" week, but even better! Thanks Ali & Shutter Sisters,
Jo
Ali is an incredible life artist and story teller. I’m thankful that she shared your site with us. I am hoping to win one of the books.
Thanks,
Lia
i’ve tried to do a whole month before, but quickly lost the mojo. a week in a life– now that sounds more doable. i don’t know if a beautiful album will come out of this, but i sure would love to know how the heck i spend my days, coz they just seem to whiz by.
I’m up for the challenge! I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while…
I LOVE ALI!!!!
I think I’m going to be dragging my camera around with me next week – sounds like fun!
Love Ali! Can’t wait to get started on her cool project!
I’m the same – craving Ali’s daily blog as inspiration. It’s much needed. Did you see the August CK column? I am looking forward to doing that album too.
Totally have enjoyed how Ali has captured the things that are around us in our everyday lives. Thanks for the chance to win her books.
Love Ali. Love this blog. π
I have just discovered this lovely blog! I’m a huge Ali fan, what an awesome giveaway! Thank you for being so generous…
11PM on Saturday, guess I’m cutting it close! But I figured, I love scrap booking even thought I don’t always have the time for it. Why not take a chance to win some wonderful books by a talented artist!!
I, too was inspired by Ali’s challenge to use photos plus words as a springboard for creating something special and unique about myself and my daily life. I love the idea of the imperfections showing through, since that is what our lives are made of! π And with a new baby and a move coming up, I think this is just the right time to be able to focus on something for me before the craziness ensues. And I’m also glad that I got to discover your blog because of the process. Thanks!
Would love one of Ali’s books!
Would love the books! Big Ali fan!
Ali’s challenge sounds awesome – I am definitely giving it a go! π
I’m up for the challenge – have read through the ideas, camera is charged and photos will be taken. Hard part will be the scrapbooking – but I’m full of good intentions!
AE is amazing and inspiring. Love her work.
It’s midnight on Saturday somewhere in the world right – hee hee. Thought I’d give it a shot.
I am so scrapbook challenged that I just never know where to begin so I really liked Ali’s idea of scrapping a week of my life and what I do. Maybe that will get the ball rolling for me and I will get into scrapping my many, many photos that I have collected for years.
Thanks for the suggestion and I think maybe this is a place for be to be visiting more often to give me the inspiration I need so desperately. Linda
Fabulous giveaway. Ali is inspiring!
Found your blog through Ali Edwards’ Blog. Kewl stuff!
I love Ali!!! Please put me in the drawing!
I took Ali’s Week in the Life class at CKU several years ago. She is a wonderful person and a great teacher and blogger.
Meg
Am I too late?
Ali is awesome–I wish I could be as half as creative and organized as she is. She never fails to inspire me.
I am excited to begin this project. I usually focus on others in my scrapbooking and rarely myself. I really want to do something to share with others about my own interests and everyday life.
I love this idea! It is short and simple…not too overwhelming. DanaC
Sounds like fun. I’m going to give it a try!
I too am going to join Ali in this journey. I check her blog daily, sometimes twice…LOL.
I have just returned from a weekend long retreat with my sister and additional friends. I was not aware of how wonderful Ali Edwards has been to the scrapbooking world. I have not been blessed enough to attend CKU but my sister has and knows all about ALI. I am starting the "A week in the life" project now and my sister is as well. I just wanted to say how special her contribution has been and how lucky I feel to be blessed by her thorugh my sister.
I recently took Alis "Evolution" album track in Provo and I am always inspired by Alis work and I would LOVE copies of her books!
Stacy

Ali’s blog is the root of my addiction to all things blogged! Her work is wonderful and after finding her and following link after link ..here I am.. addicted to yet another "favorite" .. I have freaked out my husband more then once, by jumping up from behind my computer to grab my camera and get my pic of the day!
