Disclaimer: If you don’t condone Polaroid simulation, we respect and understand your opinion. This is not a post that will resonate with most Polaroid purists.
I myself don’t have a Polaroid camera. I wish I did, but I don’t. Regardless, I am smitten by the dreamy quality that is unmistakably Polaroid.
Enter Rollip.com. A simple site that offers a two-step process (that takes barely two-minutes) to transform any image you upload into a simulated Polaroid. I was delighted by the results and will certainly visit Rollip again and again. I can feel it in my photo bones.
I hope today you can find a few minutes to play a little over at Rollip. If you are as happy with the results as I was, add your image to Flickr or your blog and leave a link in the comments. Let’s see what kind of shot you would have taken with a Polaroid camera if you had one handy.

Funny you’d post about simulated polaroids… guess we’re floating on the same wavelength… I posted an imaginary polaroid narrative on my blog just last week!

oh, i condone it and then some! i do love original polaroids, but i have to wonder sometimes if they could look as good as these simulations i keep seeing out there. these two are WONDERFUL!
coincidentally, i just found a polaroid camera at the second-hand store. it was $2.50, so i got it. now to find cheap film. π
i recently started using rollip. i love it! i think it can take some ordinary photos i take to a new level of interesting. here are a few i did on rollip.

Thanks for sharing this, I don’t have a camera polariod or otherwise. But I took this pic with my daughters. I love the way it came out. I always wondered how they made pics look like that with out a polariod. Here’s my link http://www.flickr.com/photos/34597319@N08/3953287914/ . I hope I did it right.
Thanks Again Angelique

I am loving that website as I do not own a Pola, nor do I have the resources to pay for the film that Polas demand if I could find one that worked. Though I do love "real" polas – this site has provided me with many, many, many happy hours and has served as inspiration for other shots.

This is fun. I don’t have a Polaroid but I have a Holga which I enjoy a lot. I thought it would be interesting to polarizing a photo of a Ferris wheel I took with my Holga.
The original is at the top of this post: http://thenearestfuture.blogspot.com/2009/09/state-fair-holga-pics.html
and the after picture is here: http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii260/nearestfuture/Holga/FerriswheelPola.jpg

I have several polaroids, but the film is exensive! I’ve even taken to running 35mm through my polaroid just to use it. I’m not a snob by any means and I like the results with Rollip, a little softer and ‘dreamier’ than some other simulators out there!

This is fun; and a lot cheaper! π There is another similar website where you download a small app that will convert your photos without needing to upload them: http://www.poladroid.net. It’s kind of neat as it shows you the polaroid "development" and you can save it at any time while it "develops." K.
