One of my chickens laid this bizarre teeny tiny egg in the doghouse on Easter last year.

But when they hatch, it just blows my mind away every single time.

this week we made the decision to place some fertilised duck eggs we rescued from crows at the school pond under our broody hen Pearl. She has been tag teaming the job with head hen Betty – so far so good!
this picture of her own eggs along with the intruders makes me smile…I wonder what she'll make of the little ducklings, due to hatch any day now….

I used to photograph eggs in still life configurations, loving that matte shell texture when translated to black and white. These days I'm clicking madly away at plastic eggs rolling in all directions!

It was fun taking a photo of something bright—we've been having flooding rains lately and the skies have been grey, grey, grey!
