feeling nostalgic

There are a number of reasons I choose to live in Southern California. This is one of them.

I will admit that we don't usually get defined billowy clouds here which is exactly why I took my camera out with me the day I shot this from the pier. Although this landscape shot looked lovely straight out of the camera, it is the vintage postcard processing that makes me fall in love with my surroundings all over again.

I have noticed so many of you creating your own magic with nostalgic processing techniques. Swoon.

If you've got some photo editing handwork of the antique kind that you'd like to share please do. Let's take a trip back in time.

I love the photo, Tracey! I am a So Cal native, recently transplanted back to Cali after a long stint in the South. I know exactly what you mean about appreciating moments like that! I try to capture them whenever I can. Thank you for sharing. Here is a picture I took at the Santa Rosa Plateau just outside of Murrieta, Ca.

LOVE your picture Tracey!! Also, all the pictures you linked to are beautiful! I tried to do a little bit of antiqued-like processing yesterday!! I'm finding my favorite tastes to leaning towards a vintage feel in pictures!

You are so lucky Tracy! It's cold and raining here in Maryland. This is one of my favorite things to do with photos. I have many!

As always, loving your photo.

Here's mine (I think it has a bit of a Norman Rockwell feel)

I want to touch your clouds! Definitely an antique postcard feel. I haven't messed with the processing...yet! I feel like I'm still grasping at photo content. Here is one that has the feel of nostalgia, but is untouched.

I took this picture during my pregnancy last Summer. I longed to get in the water, but was too self conscious. There is always this year.

It never ceases to amaze me at how "timely" the Shutter Sisters posts are, especially as relating to my personal blog. Once again, thanks!

I am a vintage type of girl, so looking at pictures like the one you took makes my heart happy! Such a beautiful capture.

I find myself gravitating to editing my pictures vintage style... it's just how I see beautiful.

your photo is beautiful - those are really some billowy clouds. This image looks so much like a vintage postcard.

Unfortunately I am usually at work when I get around to reading SS so the only one I can think of (and have access to) at the moment is this one I made to look vintage for my daughters prom. (of course the guys crazy hairstyles are a telltale sign that it is not from the 30s).

Love this SoCal shot!

Do you think it has anything to do with this crazy world we live in and a desire for "the way things used to be" or maybe a "simpler life"?
I'm obsessing lately on vintage type textures for post processing, here are a few I just recently did

I got some great shots of bright red tulips the other day that were amazing SOOC. These pale pink tulips were just lacking, though. I thought the antique look was a nice touch.

Then, there's this tree which I think looks kind of eery with a vintage look.

Love your water/sky image. I processed this photo to give it a bit of a seventies look, the days of my childhood, even though it's actually a recent photo of my daughter.
