Hope Knows How to Wait

Never deprive someone of hope; it might be all they have. ---H. Jackson Brown Jr.

There's something about words along side an image that helps the viewer see what you see in a whole new light. No matter how powerful our images, words take us somewhere new. Words frame what we see. Words highlight something that previously was hidden.

What words come to mind when you consider your favorite images? Feel free to share a pair--a favorite quote along side a photo--in the comments below.

I like to play with my titles to give the image an added dimension and more meaning.
Is this just an image of 3 sweet pups?...or are these 3 pups the colors of the world united??

I love this picture even though I didn't take it because it reminds me of people willing to do more.

People like those in the Shutter Sisters community who reach out in support when raising funds to help worthy projects or lending voting support to opportunities to spread a message through projects like, " Picture Hope."

I actually put up a post yesterday that is a perfect example of this. It's poem/saying i'm sure you've heard before. I've had the poster with these words since high school and it was finally time for the paper to go into the recycling bin, but I needed to save the words. I could have (and thought about) putting an image with each phrase, but this one from a triathlon last weekend kind of summed up the feelings for me.

Beautiful image. This Project Hope is a blessing to so many I'm sure.

Here's an image of one of my favorite subjects, my girl. And the words are from one of my favorite artists, JJ Heller.

OK I am not a photographer, so please don't laugh at my photo! (i took it with my iPhone). But I just I love it because it captures my daughter being so creative and having so much fun. I like the quote I put with it bc it is from one of my favorite musicians, but also because it leaves the reader open to interpret exactly what i meant by that quote. Steers them in a direction but does not give away what I thought exactly. Like my daughter and I have our own personal story about it. :)

I love what this post had to say and I've loved going through everyone's comments. I have such a hard time finding the right words for my photos, but I love seeing photos coupled with the right words.
