I love to jump and leap…

I’m often drawn to take a jump shot if the location excites me… it almost demands it.

Do you like jump? have you tried it? I know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But if you’re tempted, why not have a go?

Here’s how I do it – Place your camera, aligning the framing you want… fix your focus point… set to self-timer… move into position… and only jump when you see the countdown finishing, and just before the shutter releases, so you’re in the air. Sometimes magic happens and it works. Sometimes you have to try again. It comes with practice and it’s all about playing & having fun.

  2. This picture is of my little boy Kenzie jumping. He was 7 and had just finished 4 years of chemotherapy for bone cancer. The exuberance in the picture is a good reflection of how we all felt that summer, and is one of my all time favourite photos – even though it's not technically great!

  8. I love jump shots, and so do the kids I photograph. This is one of my favorite ones at a Quinceanera in late October in the midwest. It should have been about 30 degrees already, but it was a beautiful 70 this day and the kids were having a ball!

  19. wow,,,jumping is one of the hobby and intertainment of childern.When i was kid i also do this and i get lot of fun from it.The exuberance in the picture is a good reflection of how we all felt that summer, and is one of my all time favourite photos – even though it's not technically great.I LOVE doing the jumping poses. When I was deployed I made my crew take photos of me jumping everywhere. when some one is jumping so i want to snap of photo.It is a staple of my photography,thanks

  20. YES! I absolutely LOVE jumping photos. Whenever I'm traveling, I make sure to take at least one jump shot to show the happiness and energy of the moment. It's a great way to share a moment of joy. Love your shots!
