Polaroid lovers unite each year on flickr for ‘Roid Week.
That time is here.
5 days celebrating instant film.
Do you have a polaroid camera? And if you answered yes, are you lucky enough to have some film? I sure hope you do. Click on over to flickr and join the group. You can add 2 polaroid images a day, each day. It started yesterday and continues through Friday.
Polaroid enthusiasts LOVE their cameras. Which polaroid camera is your favorite? My dream polaroid is the SX-70 model, the one my parents shot with back in the day. I still remember that feeling as a kid when the photo would pop out the front of the camera and i would hold it in my hands and watch it develop right before my eyes. It always felt like magic, it still does. Now I get to share that magic with my own children, and watch as they get that same giddy anticipation I so remember getting when I was little.
Need film? the IMPOSSIBLE project has what you need. When the Polaroid company decided to close shop a passionate movement began. Click on over and read their inspiring story and check out the goods now available thanks to them.
And an extra bonus of ‘Roid Week 2010, the IMPOSSIBLE project is giving away 2 packs of their new PX 600 film a day to 2 random members of the group. Who knows, you could be a lucky winner!
Show us your instant images today. What? No instant camera you say… Well you may not be able to join ‘Roid Week, but you can still have fun with your digital images by making a poladroid and sharing it with us here.
Your guess. Polaroid..or Poladroid:

‘Roid week actually happens twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
My dream camera would probably be a Hasselblad with a Polaroid back. A Mamiya would be sweet too. Until the camera fairy drops one or the other in my lap, I use two cameras, an sx-70 and a slr 680 se. Love both.

I had a Polaroid camera when I was a kid… I’m sure it went into a yard sale… for shame.

I can’t post this in the group pool because it’s not new…but my polaroid spectra died, so I won’t have anything new until I get a new (old) camera. Though it looks like Impossible Project may be coming out with a camera, too? Anyway, here is my favorite polaroid, taken in Maine on the beach!

Yay for Polaroid week! I’m participating with my SX-70 and Sun 600. I would love to get my hands on an SLR 680 someday, but I’m not sure that any camera could ever eclipse my love for the SX-70.
hooray for ‘roid week! it makes me so very, very happy. i shoot with my grandfather’s SX-70.
here are my shots from day one:

thanks so much for these round-ups. Those boy details are just amazing–so understated but so beautiful.
oh, shoot–just wrote the wrong comment in the wrong blog. Soooo embarrased. To apologize, I’ll share an old-but-favorite poladroid:
http://thisismarzipan.blogspot.com/2009/09/playing-with-rollip-big-boy-birthday.html
and in case you are curious, the comment above was meant for the kids’ clothes week at elsiemarley.com. I am such a dunce.
I just purchased a beautiful SX70 off eBay about two weeks ago and I’m patiently awaiting the arrival of my 600 film…. Okay maybe not SO patiently because I just ran out yesterday and purchased a Fuji Instax.
That too is a really fun camera and my first shot thought simple was absolutely magical!
Happy Roid Week!!
A fakey but I love it….

I have a Polaroid but no film. I had no idea there was a way to track some down. They’re so fun. We use then at parties to send people home with "favors." Although, really, some of those pics probably weren’t doing anyone any favors, if you know what I mean.
Ok, I tried this out, what do you think?
