it calls to me

March 23, 2012 By Kim Klassen

Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.  ~ Doug Larson

Oh my, we’ve had the craziest weather for this time of year. May temps in March! It’s amazing what a little fresh air and sunshine can do for a person. Seriously so good.

Every day this week the porch swing has called to me…. ‘come sit‘….. and I do…. Even if it’s just for a few moments. As I sit….the sun warms right through me. It’s such a beautiful thing. I feel renewed…alive… more hopeful…inspired….. It’s as if I’m bubbbling over. It’s just so good.

Spring fever has hit!

How ’bout you? Share a little ‘spring’ with us today.

Crazy weather in my neck of the woods, too. After one of the mildest winters in recent memory we just got hit with some freakishly low temps and a couple feet of snow. I took this the day before it all went down: http://instamaticgratification.wordpress.com/2012/03/14/74366-2/

It's really mild here too (UK), I was out gardening all afternoon yesterday, now I'm really achey but feel great! I'll be doing some more today too. Here's a 'Spring' picture from me … http://deb-scudder.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/spring.html x

It's been beautiful here in PA too. I don't have my swing back up yet, but each day I have taken a moment to lay in the hammock, stare at the sky and listen to the birds. Your swing looks sooo comfy!

My family comes thousands of miles for a visit and what happens? A whole lot of spring rain. But a whole lot of fun too.

We just got our first daffodils, but I don't have any pictures yet, I've been too busy. This shot is from last year, but it gives me hope because spring is almost here again!

We had snow last weekend, but now it's finally starting to feel like spring. The purple irises are in bloom!

As the days get longer and the temperature rises, I find all possible excuses to postpone my return home. Lucky, generous street artists give me plenty of reasons to linger and soak in the warm air. Yes, the outdoor is calling me, time for the bear inside me to wake up!

Here are a couple of lucky encounters I had this week โ€“ hula hoop and trumpet.

Wonderful! Just something always magical and inviting about a porch swing. Have many fond childhood memories of mine!

I wish we had a porch swing. Might need to something about that in the near future.
