Rain earlier in the week made way for a beautiful, warm Southern California weekend for a volunteer beach cleanup that my husband, son and myself participated in.  Well, actually, I just followed along with my camera, but atleast I was there!  The sun was high and bright in a gorgeous blue sky but when I saw this picture I knew it would tell the story so much better in black and white.  With no color to distract,  it was just my husband and son walking side-by-side as if they were the only two on that beach.

  14. i love black and white so much so, that i had to start a new blog dedicated to just that….2 blogs are hard enough to keep up with and adding a third was slightly insane of me…but sometimes a girl just has to do what a girl has to do 🙂

  18. My storie is simple, when we visit the grandparents in italy, the grandpa, the daddy and the boys always go for a walk in the early morning through the fields and woods. In the end they always meet Lucia at her house and grab a coffee or some gumbears.
    This year I tried to capture that routine in black and white, because b/w somehow fit to that idea of generations:

  23. This image was actually taken several weeks ago in response to a "shoes" photo challenge. They had all just finished riding, untacked, put away their horses & were visiting (one is my daughter). They thought I was crazy when I asked them to line up & I nearly laid on the ground to get the shot. After I turned it into a black & white image it has become a favorite of everyone.

  27. I am in love with this photo! My favorite type of photography is when somebody is walking around with their camera and just snaps a picture of people doing an everyday thing. I also adore black and white photography because it gives the photograph a unique quality. It makes everything seem more mystical.
