There is a sweet spot in Texas weather. It begins when the redbuds burst forth with vibrancy and it lasts just about as long. It’s an unspoken truth that those of us who live here have about 8 weeks of spring before the temperature reaches triple digits.
So how do we enjoy our time? We’ve been eating dinner outside on our balcony. With the wind in the leaves and creaky trees for our company, we make the most of this perfect weather. Living in what feels to be a treehouse has it’s advantages, the birds become our friends! Sometimes they come to dine with us and we catch fleeting glimpses of their silly antics. It’s always fun to muse on what might be going on in their little bird brains.
“Seed for dinner again?!”
I’ll miss them when we are all closed up in our air conditioned rooms with only the view through the glass. I’m treasuring this time spent with fine feathered friends as we all enjoy the spring season.
Today share with us your love of spring, in whatever view it gives you!

Eight weeks? Feels like it’s nearly summer already. I hear ya tho, I like this time of year when being outside feels nice. Wish it lasted longer.
Love those birds, what a great catch. Especially the red one!
I’m in love with flowers. Especially bluebonnets:

"living in what feels to be a treehouse…"
i love that you said this. just the two days ago, i said to my husband, "let’s always live on the second floor, because it’s like living in a tree house with the birds." the past three homes i have lived in, i’ve been up at tree level… as in the tops of the trees. when we first got married, we lived in the second floor of a vintage house, and it had a screened in porch that when sat in, all you could see was leaves. then our first owned home was on a hill, so the living room and deck were level with the tree tops of the trees below on the hill. it really felt like being in a tree house. we constantly had cardinals and blue jays visiting the trees that enveloped our home. now, we once again live in a second floor apartment of an old home. in the front, all i see is trees. in the back {where i sit at the computer}, the dining room overlooks the top of the garage. that is how i got this shot… through the dining room window:

loving birds as much as i do, i’ve decided i always want to live at their level. LOVE you post as usual, merideth.
What great shots of the little tweets! I’m loving the arrival of spring too. And celebrating it with Tracey’s class.

I love feeding the birds too, great capture!
Flowers are poking out of the ground but not to much is blooming yet. Inside the house though, things are sprouting! Here are our tomato plants, started from seed getting ready to planted in the garden soon.

I love your description of spring! Spring should be here too, but alas, not today. We woke up to snow on the ground! However on a sunny day in a different place, I saw this little bud reaching for the sun. I can’t wait to see the sun again too!

"There’s a sweet spot in Texas weather." So true–and so perfectly said.

a favorite view s of recently! i am LOVING the pink blooms against blue skies!
It is still gloomy and sometimes chilly here in SD. There are no leaves on trees yet, and only a few flowers have bloomed. Seeing everyone’s photos of green trees and beautiful flowers makes me wish our weather would hurry up and allow ours to come back to life.
I did, however, find these pretty yellow flowers (I’m not familiar with names) outside my dorm building the other day.

And since I don’t have many wonderfully colorful nature shots yet…My favorite view of spring, and the reason I love it so much…It is finally warm enough for running. After a very long and freezing winter, breaking out these old shoes and getting some exercise outdoors is so welcoming. These shoes are incredibly old and dirty from running through puddles and they have many miles on them, but they are still a favorite spring vision for me. =]

Look at all that green! So lovely! We get birds too, but the plant life in our backyard always draws my eye more. Plus SoCal has gotten more rain this year than the past four (or something like that, don’t quote me…) and things are blooming like they haven’t had a chance to in recent memory! My allergies are hating me, but I’m happy to get shots like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trudem/4490717405/

Such beautiful images of a fresh new world. I don’t know whether it’s the incredibly tough winter or the result of the hyper-watchfulness that comes with my 365, but I feel like I notice and revel in every single new bloom in the neighborhood this year:

It has been such a cold winter that everything is slightly later than normal – but at last Spring is here and the blossom is out everywhere.

Love the snap! And I am wondering about your feeder. My parents have very persistent squirrels and the sweet wings are on something that is new to this New Englander. Can you share?
