New Beginnings

March 23, 2010 By Chris Sneddon

My favorite tree that has given me so much pleasure during the fall and winter is showing it’s new growth in honor of spring. Winter and all it’s gloominess (yes, we do get gloomy weather here in SoCal) has given way to warmer and longer days. Summer shoes are beginning to replace my winter shoes and there’s already 3 or 4 pair of flip-flops sitting next to the front door. Spring returns the same time every year and will until the end of time, but I still love the newness of it all.

How do you celebrate spring? Please, do share. We’d love to see!

I love the arrival of spring … the sun has finally started shining here & temperature’s have even hit the mid to high 50s (which feels like a heat wave). I am so ready for my poor neglected flip flops!

I always celebrate by making my yummy salads, making homemade lemonade and then the not so fun part: spring cleaning. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I live in northwest Florida, we get an early spring here too. I love digging in the dirt and planting my vegetable garden.

Oh, I love this image! So fresh and green!
Where I live in Maine we don’t have the lushness of spring yet, although it’s been pretty warm lately. I love to visit my friends’ farm where baby goats are arriving almost daily, plus she has miniature horses. Take a peek here:

The first sign of spring in our house is when we can cut a bunch of daffodils from the garden, and have them in a vase on the kitchen windowsill.

but when spring comes around i love sitting in my parent’s backyard on the bench swing and just listening to and watching all the birds. but i know for sure it’s spring when the lizards start coming out, this is a shot from last year.

I’m going to withhold a photo because it is still snowing up here and below zero. It’s been snowing steady for nearly a week over all the snow and ice we already had. So, there is no celebration of our spring yet — the celebration will likely come towards the end of April. There will still be snow up here at that time but the weather will be warmer and the snow will melt, turning everything into mud!

Oh, how we love Spring! With 4 children in our house we count down the days, during Winter, until warmer weather arrives and we can get out and play as a family. =)

This being my first spring in the desert, I find I’m hyper-aware of the natural world and the exotic plant life I’m encountering:

I love eating outdoors in the Spring. About two weeks ago, I took the patio furniture out of the garage and have lunch outside in between classes. How can you beat a view like this in your own backyard??

Some time before, I needed to buy a good car for my organization but I didn’t have enough cash and could not buy something. Thank God my comrade adviced to try to get the home loans from banks. Thence, I acted so and was satisfied with my secured loan.
