new growth

May 22, 2010 By Paige Balcer

There’s nothing better than the color of new blades of grass in the spring. After months of a dry, brown yard, new grass growth can instantly change my mood. It evokes such a feeling of starting over and new life. Combine that with beautiful evening light and some bokeh and I’m in heaven. I love being able to capture a small part of that feeling in a photo. Photography has increased my sense of awareness in many aspects of life. But the details of a new season are always at the top of my list.

Do you have any uplifting spring photos to share?

This photo captures a warm spring evening here in the desert and one of the most uplifting moments I’ve had in quite some time:

Wish you a warm and wonderful Spring time. We had +30C already in Edmonton Canada, last week! Now rainy and cold again.

I have been so engrossed with taking photos of these garlic plants in a neighbor’s yard. Its a great hangout for bees and butterflies. I have been working to get different angles and both morning and evening light.

Wow – I am so amazed with all the beautiful photographs. I so love this site. Just wanted to add a photo of springtime fishing. We have been anxiously awaiting warm weather so we can sit by the lake and fish.

One of my favorite things about spring and summer…Baseball games.

Here is my nephew hanging out with us at a home game. My boyfriend is playing for my hometown team, so it is very exciting to have a legit excuse to go to all the games. =]

Definitely a sign of Spring…Though I do love love love all the new plants and flowers that spring brings.

This year is my first 365 so I am noticing all sorts of natures chances day to day. Where I would normally say, "oh thats pretty, I should photograph that pretty flower bud", but then never get around to it – this year I am out with my camera everyday documenting the changes in every form.
