nice package

June 23, 2011 By Tracey Clark

Smart marketing and clever packaging are 2 things that are never lost on me. I apprecaite and make mental notes of every single creative little (and big) thing that people/brands/products use to get our attention. So much so that I have secretly held a dream somewhere in the back of my over-active project-minded brain of a regular offering called Nice Package where clever packaging would get the kudos they so deserve.

Since I don’t imagine that coming to fruition anytime soon, why not just put it out there right now? After all, the little things I notice fall right under the category of this month’s One Word, details. It is all in the details as far as I’m concerned.

How about it sisters? Do you notice all the many perfectly packaged items there are out there these days?

Grab a shot of something you find clever and/or endearing in the packaging department and share with us a Nice Package. *ahem* You know what I mean.

Pictured above, an empty bottle of Pom x Tea. And let me tell you, even beyond it’s nice package, it’s wonderful.

I notice packaging too. I recently visited California for the 1st time and I really liked the whole retro concept/packaging of IN-N-OUT Burgers. I was not too impressed with the burgers themselves though, I am a little puzzled by the hype (I hope I don't anger anyone by admitting this!).

The new ketchup dippers are my fave right now! You can dip OR squeeze! And it's made to look like the cute diner bottles of ketchup ๐Ÿ™‚

I notice packaging, commercials, pretty much anything from a creative angle. Hugh, I thought it was just me.

I love product packaging design! There used to be a blog/etsy shop called Nice Package (Ez from Creature Comforts was one of the owners), but they closed last year. There's a new blog that can be found here:
http://lovelypackage.com that posts about cool product packaging.

Also, pinterest is a great place to find great packaging ideas!

I've always loved looking at cool package designs in stores…especially liquor bottles. (even though I don't drink!) Packages are an awesome place for design inspiration.

I love all of the Apple packaging – the iPhone, iPods, etc. So sleek and minimalistic and cool!

Ahh, I love great packaging too! I loved the Lensbaby packaging. Also, I recently received some Shaklee home cleaning products and they are really beautiful:

I don't have a picture to post (well what good is that, then???), but I love love love the packaging of my Alima mineral makeup. I will try to get a photo. Little birds, they get me every time.

I received a really neat piece of junk mail a few weeks ago. It wasn't what you would expect from a car dealership, but it certainly caught my eye!
