I’ve been a fan of Photobooth Friday for a long time, marveling at how insanely creative and fun those strips are and enjoying the delightful stories they unfold in four or less shots. Yet it is only recently that I gathered up the courage to go to one of the only eight booths left in my city, enough change in my pocket and my heart full of expectations.
And I loved every second of it.
The two young girls before me who couldn’t stop giggling. The tourist couple waiting in line with trepidation. My turn (I blinked, of course I blinked). And how the whole experience reclaimed my playful self, and helped me discover a new way of being that I can now share with my kids.
How about you? Do you love photobooths as much as I do? What do you like about them? Maybe you even have old strips stored in boxes? Today, please share your photobooth love with us. And if you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can browse the photobooth locator to find one near you. Who knows? Today might be the day.
Note: No photobooths around? Try the Photo Booth application on your computer. There are also a lot of free apps for iPhones and Androids.
Haha. Cute! I remember how we used the photobooth at the trainstation to get shots for official documents when I was little. Now that's not possible anymore. Those shots have to be taken by a professional photographer specialized in that area and the pictures must meet various requirements (like no glasses, ears have to be seen, no smiling (no smiling! How unplayful is that?!)).
I haven't been into a photobooth for ages. I think I will take the little ones one day. I bet they would love that!
My daughter loves the photobooth app ๐ now need to find a real one to let her try it out! Thanks for a great idea!

I love photobooth photos. They are always so much fun! I have a few kicking around somewhere. And you just gave me the greatest idea ever… taking my fiancee to the photobooth at the mall to take some fun pics with signs to use as SAVE THE DATES! ๐
Hey there's a cool Photobooth app for your IPhone or IPod Touch. I have loads of fun with it on my IPod Touch
These photos are so adorable! I LOVE photobooths. On my 30 Before 30 list, I want to take a photo in every photobooth I find. So far, I've only done it once but I still have 6 months left. ๐
Since there aren't that many around, I've taken advantage of the Photo Booth feature on my Mac. It's not quite the same but it still gives some good shots sometimes. http://bigmariolife.blogspot.com/2011/03/thursday-morning-thoughts_31.html
Mine is not a playful set, but I had fun making it in photo booth: http://www.flickr.com/photos/madamemeow/5732569880/
I do love photo booths, though– they are entirely too much fun ๐
I, too, love photobooth photos.
They are reminders of my teenage years.

I love photobooth photos! They remind me of summer vacations spent at Hampton Beach, NH where we would always visit the arcade and the photobooth. I wish I still had those old photos! I recently downloaded a Photobooth app on my iPad but hadn't played with it yet. This post gave me the inspiration. Thanks!

I love photobooth photos.
I hate taking photos of myself, any which way
I've developed an almost overwhelming obsession with photo booths. Lie awake at night designing them in my head, even got into the rental business for wedding receptions and Sweet 16s and the like. I seek out movies that feature them (such as Amelie) and spend too much time seeking them out the booths themselves.
This was an awesome post that I just found on the right border of my Facebook page – so happy when that leads me to cool posts like this. I love photo booth pics! I remember when I was a kid in NJ, there was one in the arcade in our mall that my friend Lisa & I used to use all the time – and then down the shore there were a few on the boardwalk in Seaside and Wildwood ๐ And then I found a few in Hampton Beach, NH here close to home. AND there is one in my favorite seedy bar in NYC, the Blue Ruin – they even have a folder of donated/abandoned photo booth shots. I am truly inspired today, thanks!!
I adore the way we look in the photo booth! Each tiny square tells it's own little story!
Long live the photo booth and all who love it!
