I ♥ textures.  You may already know that. ๐Ÿ™‚ I will never forget the first time I placed a texture on a photo….changed the blend mode… and poof…  MAD LOVE! I find the process completely magical.

How bout you?  Have you been bitten by the texture bug? Have you tried? Honestly.. it’s so much fun! 

If the whole process is completely new to you…. check out these tutorials on my site. And here’s a little texture gift for you as well.  Just a little something to get your started.  Maybe today’s the day!

    I'm not usually one for textures. But I've seen pictures from others that I love. I just tried it for the very first time the other day. Not perfect. Not even the perfect picture for it, but I like it.

    Really BIG fan here…

    I added a texture layer to this shot and blended it using the color blending mode. I adjusted the opacity to bring in just a bit of the color from the texture. So much fun!

    I have been admiring textured images for quite a while but never knew how to do them. About a month ago, I discovered a whole new world of textures on flickr and watched some of the tutorials from your site and Distressed Jewell. Still learning the process but am already addicted!     Ahhhh, the synchronous phenomenon that is the shutter sisters. I posted a floral image full of texture today too! ๐Ÿ™‚ I am working in textiles lately and have been intrigued and inspired by texture. Fabric in photos, etc.

    you are a master of texture.
    i had a phase where i was obsessed with playing with them but never felt like i hit my stride. i would always waffle on what i liked best. then i kind of got away form it all together. i do have a few faves though from when i experimented with them.

    Once I got the hang of how to do textures, yes, I began to the love them. And, there are so many other photographers out there that use them so well, that it's inspiring. This is my favorite textured photo I've ever done. As I played, this emerged and I was so happily surprised!
