The Glow of Good

December 15, 2008 By Tracey Clark

Sometimes the planets align and everything we put our time and energy into comes together even better than we could have imagined. There’s really no way of knowing when a plan might happen like that but it’s always and pleasant and welcome surprise when it does.

A few weeks back a group of some very special Southern California women gathered in a loft in LA and enjoyed a night of crafting (see photo above), conversing, savoring, and sharing. We talked about photography, creating meaningful (and affordable) gifts and living a life that makes a difference in this world. We feasted on tantalizing delicacies and divine music but above all else, we sincerely enjoyed one another’s company.

During the rush of the season, I wish you evenings of memory making and magic where the glow of good company warms your heart.

In light of the goodness that was shared at the memorable LA event, HP is giving away one of their adorable and super-fun Compact Photo Printers to a shutter sister. You know the drill; leave a comment here to be entered into the random drawing. Good stuff!

And… speaking of the magic of a great event, if you think a Shutter Sisters gathering would be something you’d like to attend in the future, let’s hear it. I think a Shutter Sisters Summit in 2009 sounds pretty good to me, what about you?

I would LOVE to have a compact photo printer. So neat to be able to print your photos at home. I always do last minute projects, and going to pick up prints is sometimes a hassle.

Also, I’m totally new to the Shutter Sisters blog, and I would be ALL for a gathering! Count me in!!

As an American living in Europe, having crops/summits are few and far between. I’m happy to announce that I and another ‘sister’ held our 2nd annual Christmas Card Crop. It was so much fun getting our friends out to be creative. My favorite part is always the fellowship!!

A summit?! That would be fabulous… depending on where it was held. With trips planned to Africa and India (for a two-week photography workshop!!) in ’09, there’s not a lot of cash left for a third trip. Any chance you’d consider two smaller summits… east and west?

The idea of a meeting/convention/get together is appealing, but the money spent to fly somewhere is not. Living in the middle of the country always makes it difficult to get to these things!

On a happy note, I would LOVE that lil printer… could digi embellish my photos with journaling for my scrapbooking and print them out right at home! No more running to the one hour photo lab all the time because I am impatient! LOL

I am having a great and quiet time making all the christmas gifts by hand this year. We have no money to buy something for everyone, and I am enjoying this a lot. And it’s ecofriendly. And it helps me connect with the meaningful and true things in life.
Thank you for this post and for the giveaway.
