It’s not everyday you get to be seen for the real you.
Sometimes your chance comes when you stand on a stage. Other times it happens when you lay your head on a pillow. No matter how it comes, that moment of recognition is all it takes to make you feel like a real star.
When was the last time you saw the real somebody when you looked through your lens? Show us your shining stars in your pics today, and if someone by chance had the talent to reveal the real you, show us that photo, too.
i’ve been doing a lot of self portraits lately and this one…there’s something about it…it feels like the closest i’ve ever gotten to capturing the real me, the ‘if you really knew me’ part of myself.

I don’t think anyone has ever captured the real me, except for maybe a candid in high school that I didn’t know was being taken. I guess I keep my guard up most of the time. I don’t take may people shots, either, they don’t cooperate with me (I’m talking about my sons). Someday…
i can’t say i’m even sure what the real me looks like at this point. becoming a mother has thrown me through a loop. my spirit feels more beautiful and the bags under my eyes beg to differ. i haven’t experimented much on self portraits, but this one shines for me:

and this one by my husband was taken recently and it just feels right because i’m in nature with my baby:

Oh, one more. Sorry.

I have no idea who this is, just a gorgeous guy on the streets of New Orleans, but I believe him. This is the real him.

while my hubby was shooting me for a post earlier this week, I took a break for a second, trying to come up with a new pose while holding my favorite sign….and while "thinking"…..he captured this and it ended up being my favorite of all the photos !!!

One day early this spring, I was outside with the boys. I held my oldest in my viewfinder and all of a sudden this look of joy came across his face. I quickly snapped and turned to see what he was looking at. There was Daddy, pulling in the driveway.
Not the best picture I’ve ever taken, but captured him in honest delight.

ok…seriously…3rd times a charm…(wink)
This is a very well timed subject. I just had an epiphany of sorts this morning after hearing Trisha Yearwood’s "Real Live Woman" on my ipod as I drove to work. I blogged about it here… http://star8278.blogspot.com.
There is one shot of the "real" me that my mom captured while I was shooting at the Philadelphia Flower show this year… It’s the "real" me because it shows me doing what I love most, shooting. But not just shooting, shooting different from everyone else. As you can see in the picture, I am down on the floor looking closely at an arrangement, while the rest of the show’s visitors are focused on the big picture.

This is a pic of my sweet, silly son. We were at the tulip festival and you can see his natural little boy nature in his goofy pose.

My ninety-six-year-old grandmother has 6 grandchildren, 11 1/2 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Here she is meeting her 11th grandchild for the first time. I can’t help but think of her long legacy while looking at this photo:

you’re gonna love this one- this is pretty much the real me – playing "chubby bunnies" with my nieces at home

My girls are the easiest and most available subjects to capture…they are so used to Mama having a camera out that they usually don’t even notice it. Still my oldest is getting to the age where she poses, so when I catch her doing what she does often without a pose I jump on it.

My husband on the other hand is impossible. He is like me, always aware of the camera. This is an old shot but it shows us both as we are I think…

There he stood busking on a Grafton street, like so many other buskers have (if you’ve seen the film ‘Once’ you’ll know that Grafton street is THE place to busk in Ireland). He was playing a ‘violin’ he himself had fashioned out of an old biscuit tin. And there was just something so very genuine about him: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vanessa_r/2881446663/in/set-72157607451011710/
I dislike having my photo taken, but this time I really needed one for a bio for the Paws for Charity book. So I asked my daughter take some portraits of me. Out of the bunch – several that I actually like – the poll agreed this one best represented the real me – so I went with it.

This past year has been a tough one for our (almost) 6-year-old son. Last summer he spent almost entirely with family members when our twins arrived early in the midst of a cross-country relocation. The school year has had its trials too. Last weekend I was so happy to feel I’d captured the sweetness (and mischief) that is in his true heart. Even though he is not my little boy anymore, he is still my first baby.

I don’t have any photos of me and I hate selfies so here is one of many that I’ve taken that shows the "real you":

A lovely question to ask of us.
I watched Obama’s inauguration in Times Square while visitng NYC. I have no idea who this man is, but I think this is his true self. His face captured what the whole crowd was feeling:

Thank you for this prompt today. I was inspired to share some photos I took of my daughter dancing. Dancing with abandon, regardless of what others were thinking or doing. I hope she always does this.

Since starting this years 365, I think I capture "Real" a lot. But I think it is best when they have no idea I’m standing there taking their picture.
356 photo..Day…??? May 6…this is REALLY what I see everyday when I am picking up my Chloe from school.

I felt these pictures captured the essence of my SIL’s sweet and silly personality.
this is the shot that says the most about me this week: baby boy is takes tiny bold steps holding my hand – stops – grabs my leg & laughs @ the world – he holds me up!

Love all these captures of REAL moments!
Mine is from this past fall – when I uploaded the image on my computer, I was originally disappointed because my husband’s eyes are closed, but when I looked at it again later, I fell in love with it.

when we were dating my soon-to-be-husband took this photo of me and I knew that not only did he see me, but he loved me: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smilinglaura/470200476/in/set-72157603849219080/
and the husband….I couldn’t decide which one is more real….

I captured this photo of my husband, at a rather funny angle, out on a dock trying to catch crabs. He’s in his most natural state in this photo. Staring at me for trying to document every waking moment of our lives, wearing his vans, drinking his wine from a plastic cup, and praying to catch us some dinner. It’s him at his most natural, and finest.

I have two:
1. My hubby doing the dishes, laughing at something I said, I can hear him laughing when I look at this shot

2. My son, just being himself:

I do not do a lot of self-portraits… maybe I should..
This one just shows the real me: http://karineardault.typepad.com/karine_ardault/2009/05/self-portrait.html
Oh, the timing…
Jeana and I opened a group-challenge-whatever, to see what delicate and truthful ways of seeing ourselves we can come up with.
Here it is:

I’m so impress with your blog. It really attract my attention. As of now there are many adult photo sharing website around the web. I have also found interesting in this portal where we can see body exposure of real people and real life – http://watchersweb.pissedconsumer.com/
I propose not to hold back until you earn enough cash to buy all you need! You should just get the business loans or collateral loan and feel yourself comfortable
