A few weeks ago Her Bad Mother launched The World According To Mom, a ’round the world in 80 clicks tour where mothers from all over the world write and share five things they love about being a mom. I was delighted to find out that some moms/bloggers decided to share photos instead of words and that, although our answers differ, we are all able to look beyond fusses and messes and see beauty in the smallest moments, in the most ordinary places.
So today I want you to share images of the things you love about being a mom (and if you are not a mom, share images of the things that you love about your own mother, or about motherhood).
This is my favorite mother-daughter picture on a post for my daughter’s birthday where I wrote about the biggest lesson I’ve learned through being her mom.

Thanks for sharing The World According To Mom…what a great idea!
Well…I am a "guardian auntie" which I think may qualify me for motherhood in lots of ways. What I love? The belly laughs together…

things I love about being a mom are the moments of pure joy as a teen..because we all know there are the other emotions as well!

i love how much i love him. its been over a year, and i still can’t believe the feelings i have. i love how every inch of him makes me smile. (especially that huge, kissable belly)

and i love the pure joy that he has. it makes me want to be joyful too.

I love, that even though there are more than enough moments of consternation and frustration between these two, there are quiet moments like these:

I’m not a mother yet but LOVED capturing and sharing this moment with a mother to be! She was RADIANT!!

My sons are now adults and when I was tagged by Sarah Ji I thought what the heck am I going to talk about, but then the things that I love about being a mom started surfacing, one after the other, and before I knew it I had my five things and still they kept coming. This was my response:

And since I won’t post photos of my sons, this one is representative of time spent hanging out:

And my son doing the cooking:

Rescuing critters, just like when he was young:

We had a wonderful day at the tulip festival yesterday and the photos of my sweet babes captured much of the pleasure and delight I feel in being their mommy . . .

I wish I had a shot with all my children, but the age spread makes it tough. This recent one though reflects what I love about this new phase of motherhood. Savoring those delicate little details of a little one, as they are so fleeting.

I love watching him learn new things. I love watching his mind work… it’s like I get to relive the new things that come with childhood by watching him be a child… but I have a different perspective on it now, more appreciation for all those trials and tribulations you come across as a kid.

There are a zillion handsome and funny images of my son. He can be so patient, or such a ham when I have my camera in hand… but this is my boy in one of his "can you please put the camera down for once" moments. ๐
the mothers kiss always and forever caught on film.
this i love.
my son sat in my lap as this photo loaded and he asked "is that you and me?"
that i love.
we had a good day of sunshine yesterday and found ourselves hiking, and one moment stood out among the others. it stood out well beyond the flowers and inchworms and rock climbers and pools of water in which to splash. it was like time stood there for me to relish in it, knowing it is always in a constant state of change.

time with annie. that’s all i need. it’s all i crave. she makes me a better mom. she tests every nerve i have. every amount of patience. her smile fills my heart. her laughter helps me breathe. it’s an honor to be her mother.

I just posted this yesterday: a moment of silliness, happiness, togetherness with my teenage daughter.

I’m not a mother yet, but I Love watching the love of a mother when I am with my sister-in-law…

And the wonderful thing about this photo is they don’t have many photos together, since she’s usually behind the camera, capturing his moments.

… my hope.
What a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
I love everything about being a mom. Well, almost everything! I didn’t realize how much I’d love it until I had a child, and my love for him grows every day. I think the thing I love the most about being a mom is seeing the world new through his eyes…how everything is a discovery. Every little thing is exciting again!

quiet mornings together. http://www.flickr.com/photos/smilinglaura/3471818190/
i love how radically different my three boys are, in every possible way:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/vanessa_r/3446231500/in/set-72157607454214429/
i don’t love how fast they’re growing though!! well, in some ways i do, of course, and it’s all so exciting and there’s something new every day… but… you know what i mean ๐ -my baby turned 3 yesterday! baby no more. these are now officially three little dudes. and, man, they are sweeping me off my feet with all their crazy love.
…and, you know, something tells me i’m not the only mum with a whole flickr set just for them…. http://www.flickr.com/photos/vanessa_r/sets/72157607454214429/
I can’t say enough about becoming a mother. Today we are sick together while her Papa and sister are healthy, so hard.

2 babies in diapers is exhausting. But I’m often reminded that it’s all worth it…..

So much to say about this…
Here’s my friend with twins in her belly.

I love the photo in this post. So joyful and exotic. Makes me wish I lived in Paris too!
i love seeing the bond these two are already sharing.

It was fun to hear what others had to share. I had a bad week, so this cheered me up.
That they want to be like us someday even though we aren’t perfect.

This is my favorite picture of my son and I. For a change, someone else (my husband) picks up the camera…

My little sister is a young, single mom and she is fabulous. I am in awe with the way that the "motherhood gene" just kicked in and she takes such good care of her sweet little boy, even with all the trials she’s been through.

Rock on mommies!
I’m so grateful to be a mother! My favorite part, well, observing and delighting in pretty much everything my daughter does: http://missabriyana.blogspot.com/2009/04/ah-spring.html
I just had to comment on this of all posts. I’m still learning how to best capture these wonderful moments in motherhood, but when the picture turns out right its wonderful to see the love that I’m always feeling.

I love to see excitement looks and hear excitement words from my little one, about pretty much any proposal we make to her… And how she goes along with our happiness.

Motherhood is the most challenging and rewarding adventure. There are moments I feel I’m going crazy and then moments of pure bliss. I’m blessed to spend so much time with my babies, they amaze me everyday.
