“Which of my photographs is my favorite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.” -Imogen Cunningham
And it’s true, it’s so totally and completely true. It’s what I love most about photography. There are always images for the taking, stories for the telling. No way of knowing what tomorrow holds, what photographs lay waiting. For this reason, I am never without a camera, never ever. Sometimes people think this is funny, sometimes they ask why. Because you never know, I tell them. You just never know.
Are you this person too? Do you carry a camera with you everywhere you go? Do you wonder what images tomorrow holds? Are you as excited about the potential as I am? Tell us, what photographs do you look forward to taking? What images snuck up on you and took you by surprise?
My iPhone makes it easy for me to always have a camera at hand and yet there are still those moments when I regret not having my DSLR or Polaroid with me. As you said, you just never know when an unexpected photo op will present itself: http://instamaticgratification.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/40366/
I'm definitely one who always carries my camera. Everytime I consider leaving the house without..I worry that I might miss a photo opp. Here are a couple of recent – and very different ones – of mine:

That's the beauty of iPhoneography – there is a camera with you everywhere. Here is the latest surprise that I snapped: a chandelier reflected in a glass of wine. http://measuringlifeinphotographs.tumblr.com/#17889647889
wonderful quote!
every day i am excited about the images i am going to capture!
on my daily trek with the dogs i always take my iPhone, especially for close-ups, and my Olympus PEN with the tele zoom, weighs almost nothing, is easy for me to use with my disabled hands and makes superb quality pics.
i just went through todays batch and published three of my unexpected treasures

Yes, I take my camera everywhere! I brought it into the bathroom the other night to take photos of my toddler in the bath – she's just too darn cute for me not to capture her playing in the water.

My grandmother is 97 and still lives alone. I visit her every weekend. When I go, I always take my camera and take pictures of the life that I always want to remember. This one was taken yesterday.

I carry a Kelly Moore bag specifically for the purpose of carrying my camera everywhere I go. Admittedly, I don't take it out as often as I should. However, it does give me the opportunity to snap some last minute photos –

All these photos are amazing!
I love photography.
I have a photography blog. its http://www.imagesfromacamera.blogspot.com
I am only 16 and my camera is kinda a piece of junk but it is so fun.
I don't use any special editing, the only editing I do is making the lighting better and cropping the pictures.
check out my blog and tell me what you think!
Yep, this is definitely me! Between my big baby and my new iphone i'm always being surprised at what's around the corner. here's a recent unexpected fav: http://www.flickr.com/photos/soupatraveler/6899148111/in/photostream/
yes. and yes. always with me or close at hand. http://www.flickr.com/photos/the-mer-family/6899377561/in/photostream though this photo is slightly obscure and perhaps doesn't portray much to anyone else, it is one of my favorite photos (apart from some that i take of my family) it was a moment of personal reflection & realization. without my camera that moment could have simply slipped by, but now when i see photo i'm reminded of my epiphany.
and if i hadn't slung my camera over my shoulder i wouldn't have gotten this sweet moment either: http://www.flickr.com/photos/the-mer-family/6907919935/in/photostream
I love falling in love with little objects then plotting and mulling over the best ways to capture them…

I carry my camera around in my car and then I forget I have it and I see stuff and then afterwards I go, oh! I should have taken a picture of that! I guess I'll get there eventually.
I've always loved photography. Unfortunately, growing a business can cut down on the fun of just having fun with a camera and not trying to take "the" photograph. Although my camera isn't always by my side, I am beginning once again to just have fun with life everyday in photographs.

I used to be that way, then I fell out of the habit as I moved much of my shooting into my studio during my self portrait project.
But I'm re-establishing that habit. My camera is sitting on my desk right now, and this was my surprise photo this morning.

I love that quote! It says it all doesn't it?
That is what I love about the photography too. The unknown…what's next?

This post really speaks to me. I think I am in love with the same thing about photography. It is always an adventure, I cannot imagine ever feeling that I had no more pictures to create. There is always more to do, more to learn, more to capture my imagination.
Firslty thanks Shuttersisters for introducing me to an Artist (Imogen Cunnigham) that I have not heard of. Her work is fantastic I am sure I will learn alot from studying her photographs.Once again Shuttersisters showing why their website is one of the best.
Secondly Last year I missed so much because I forgot my camera that it became embarrassing, so I made my new year resolution to never leave the house without a camera be it a point and shoot an SLR or even my mobile phone. So far it has worked somedays I won't use it but it's still nice to have it on me. Not everything I shoot is groundbreaking but atleast I had the chance to capture it.
By taking more shots I am getting the chance to become a better photographer, as a fellow poster (Khianna Barwick) wrote "there is always more to learn".
Take care of one another

I always panic when I leave the house and don't have my camera! Sometimes it just isn't practical (like a trip to the supermarket where you are not allowed to take pictures inside), but I feel like I am going to miss an amazing shot when I don't have my camera. Owning an iPhone 4S makes it a little easier, just because the camera upgrade makes you feel like you can at least capture the moment to remember, even if it isn't as beautiful as it could have been.
I actually feel like I miss something almost every time I don't have my camera with me, which is disheartened and enlightening at the same time. On one hand, sad I missed the shot, but on the other hand at least I know there will always be more photo moments!
