two of our best

March 26, 2012 By Tracey Clark

It’s probably no secret that I use my iPhone about 99% of the time. I’m the first to admit that it’s become my most favorite muse since I got it. And Instragram is my favorite way to use my iPhone. I’ve only recently begun to try different apps but I keep going back the the quick, easy and ever-effective Instragram.

I’m not the only one around here that is smitten. My teenage daughter also has been stung by the iBug (and she doesn’t even have an iPhone). So, we spend our time passing my phone back and forth. Logging each other in and out and in again into our Instagram accounts. We shoot and share and show each other our handiwork. We oooo and aaaah at our work. We get excited about how we each see the world, compare secrets of each shot, we encourage each other.

Although it can be challenging sometimes, the trading back and forth, the logging in and logging out, I actually really enjoy it. I like getting to be a part of my daughter’s photography process like this. I get to watch and witness her as she creates her art. It’s a gift. At least until she gets her own iPhone.

I chose to share these two shots today as our Best Shot Monday. The image on the left is her best from this week. The right image is mine. I think we make a pretty good creative team.

Won’t you share your Best Shot from the past week on this fine Monday?

Instagram makes me want an iphone. I'm an Android girl. I just wish Instagram would come to Android.
Here is my best shot from last week; pretty much my only shot. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I couldn't stand it any longer and took the plunge! I am so excited, my iphone just shipped yesterday! And I am sure my daughter & I will be doing exactly the same thing. She already takes my dslr right out of my hands sometimes and I LOVE it . . . I love the bond & the friendship.

Awesome that you get to share this with your daughter.
I love the shots that you chose and her shot of the Bee is amazing.
I use instagram from my Ipad when I remember I have it – I have a itouch which doesn't have instagram on it since it's not by apple.

My daughter and I also both use Instagram – she's away at college, so I love that her images give me a peek at her life and viewpoint. (I've tried to leave a link here several times but for some reason it won't work…I'm not tech savvy enough to figure it out!)

Wow! I love both of those images, they are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this lovely story of friendship between you & your daughter. It's so sweet! I love using my iPhone to take pictures–it's such an awesome way to take all the pressure off and just be inspired. Anyway here is my best shot of the week:

I don't have an iPhone but I absolutely love using Instagram on my iPod Touch. I love the nostalgic feel you can get, it reminds me of my old Kodak Instamatic when I was a kid. And it's helping me fine tune my eye for composition since you can't really crop the photos after. Here are a couple of my favorites from last week:

This post is incredibly timely! I just bought my very first iPhone on Friday and have been loving it! Just for kicks, I took some side-by-side shots with it and my old Android phone. Here is one of the results:

I'm a hipstamatic girl, myself. There's not a day that goes by in which I don't take at least one shot with my iPhone. My boss told me he's putting me on a twelve step program. Here's my best from the weekend.

I love my iphone and Instagram. Amazing how you can capture the daily beauty in your life and immediately share it.

I created two mosaics with my iPhone here. Simple and easy – that's the beauty of it all….

My best friend and I were inspired through our instagrams to start a blog together of our images side-by-side, from our home cities of Vancouver and Winnipeg http://www.frompeakstoprairies.wordpress.com. And as if one new project for 2012 wasn't enough, I spontaneously decided to plunge into a project 365+1 after a very long hiatus away from any art-making at all. I decided to use instagram as my vehicle for that project too. I didn't think it would be very hard since I was already taking pictures daily. But now I really feel the push to try and develop my pictures beyond the snapshots of life I'm constantly taking. Here's my photo for today http://ink361.com/#/photos/155820465154824029_1549740
