Waiting

March 12, 2011 By Paige Balcer

These days it seems like my life is on hold, while the world keeps spinning around me. For 8 months I have been keenly focused on getting to the finish line with a healthy baby. My day to day activities tend to be foggy lately, but I am always fully aware of this tiny person growing inside me. I know that our whole life is going to change and I am feeling very ready for the transition into motherhood. We are overjoyed to add a new member to our family.

But all I can do is wait…and wonder. Boy or girl? When will the baby decide to come? What will he or she look like? In any case, my camera will be ready to capture this time in our lives and the new addition to our family.

Are you waiting for anything these days?

What a sweet photo! Those last few weeks or days of waiting seem the hardest. You just want that baby to arrive, healthy and in your arms! You captured that feeling well in your words.

These days, I'm waiting (not so anxiously) for our move home from Italy to the US. I'm trying to capture moments and images to help me remember this experience, before the "wait time" is over. Even though I'm excited to move back, I know it will happen all too soon.

So exciting. Seems like you've done a great job staying healthy to the finish. The funny thing is the finish line is often the beginning too. I love the image above. One of my favorite baby books for sure. I am on hold for awhile too. Waiting. Waiting for news about upcoming transitions and launches, etc. I need to reread this comment. I've been gearing up for the finish line and not always remembered I am upon a new beginning as well. πŸ™‚

Right now I'm waiting for my little guy to wake up. On Saturday mornings he always comes in with us for a snuggle. Mmmm. Waiting gives me time to look at my favorite websites and your post steered me down memory lane. Such exciting, happy, and crazy time! Best wishes on an easy delivery and welcome soon to the many, many joys of motherhood!

Waiting…not an easy task. Congratulations. I can't help but smile as I think of your happy days ahead. I am waiting…not so patiently these days. In 6 weeks and 1 day my "baby" will return home from Afghanistan. But before his boots leave that soil so far away he will have his 27th birthday. How did that happen? He has asked me for one thing that joyous day of return….NO lipstick! I guess I can do without it…since I can't promise that I won't hug & kiss him to pieces. http://www.flickr.com/photos/galewall/5439278574/

Oh congratulations! πŸ™‚ I love the little elephants and have always loved that book. So sweet.
I think it's cool that you don't know what the gender is yet! So true to our roots, so timeless.
    Aaaaaaa I have such baby fever and it's doubly terrible because it's Spring and I have a mate this time around;
It seems such an exciting and beautiful event.

For once in my life, I have no idea what I'm waiting on. My nature is very firm on that. I think I'm waiting on the series of serendipitous events that happens to me every April through July. Always incredibly magical. Waiting on that new moon check to cash in. Otherwise enjoying the being, working on mindfulness, manifesting all feelings and letting those manifestations act as seeds that might grow fortune. πŸ˜‰

Best of wishes, Paige, and take it easy!

Congratulations on your baby!! Just looking at your photo, I can smell that pink baby lotion! New baby smell beats out new car smell any day!

I am waiting anxiously to start my photography book club! I bought Expressive Photography awhile back and decided to choose it as a book club topic.

I sure am waiting for something!! But first, I love your photo and congratulations on the new babe.

I am anxiously waiting for no more winters of heavy snow, triple and quadruple layers, heavy boots, and 30 below zero weather (and colder) from the end of October to the end of April. What does that mean? It means we are MOVING!! and I am SO excited and can hardly wait. My husband is retiring and I'm getting out of jail (it feels like living in jail way up here in hinterland). We're moving to the west coast of Canada on Vancouver Island. Oh what a dream come true!

Wishing you an easy birth and many many joyous years of motherhood.

My little boy is turning one next month and I wanted to find a way to caputure his "early days" perhapse I will take this idea of yours and lay out some of my favorite newborn outfits and photograph them. That way I can dontate his clothes, I've been holding onto them for sentiment but now I see another way to capture that sentiment.

    Thanks!

You know…that book is one of my most tresures of my sons things. I read it to him every day when he was a baby. We used to lay on the sun lit bed on our backs and just read it over and over again. And i think he understood every sense of it. SO much love!
