We are all photographers together, yes?

….but we do divide into smaller group depending what we like to shoot and the gear we shoot with… Canon, Nikon, Polaroid, Pentax, Olympus, Rollei, iphone….the list goes on…. and that’s what makes us all so uniquely different.

While I was on the shutter sisters Camp, I noticed the conversations between the ladies “oh I’m a Canon person”, “I’ve always have been Canon…” or “I’m a Nikon” (although pronounced different on either side of the pond!)… “Nikon is the best” and there were so many proud “Polaroid girls…” saying “My heart belongs to Polaroid“

I shared this with a dear friend of mine and it sparked into a new collaboration to celebrate what you shoot with. We have created prints and badges/buttons for you to be proud of who you are. I am a Canon girl….. and know some of you are Nikon girls and Polaroid girls…

As we’re so excited about this new project, we’d love to offer one print of your choice to you lovely girls out there, all you’ve got to do is tell me what girl you are…..Canon, Nikon, or Polaroid or something else in the comments below…. You have until tomorrow Sat 21st Jan midnight PST…..

  2. I'm a Nikon girl. Since I was a little girl my dad shot with a Nikon and when I was old enough he started passing down his old equipment and started teaching me how to use it. It would take a lot to convince me to change camera brands simply because of the memories associated with Nikon.

  6. My heart forever belongs to Polaroid. This has been an issue of heartbreak for me as film has disappeared and costs have risen. I have been forced to question if without it I am still an artist. yes, I shoot Nikon and iPhone too but I really am a Polaroid girl. 🙂

  7. im a bit of everything – canon (film) slr, nikon dslr, lomography holga and fisheye, camera phone, fuji instax mini and i'm sure i'll inherit hundreds of antique kodaks but as the Nikon isn't even out of the box yet i say "i'm a nikon girl"!!

  9. I do not really discriminate, but I am currently a NIKON GIRL purely because I held it and I liked the feel of it, very techno reason I know..so that's how it happened for me.

  10. I'm a Canon girl…since September 2011… However, I have lusted after Polaroid for years, and I finally have an old camera… I'm torn! But I'd say, yeah, I'm a Canon girl 🙂

  12. Since going digital I'm a Canon girl but I will admit to first being a Pentax girl and progressed to NIkon when I still shot film. BUt I did get rid of all my Nikon gear to by my Canon and I do love it. But I did swipe my boyfriend's old Nikon Em the other day when he said he was going to get rid of it the other day! 🙂

  13. Canon. Other than very low quality point and shoots for which I don't even remember the brands, I have always had Canon gear.

  14. Today I'm Nikon all the way (including my lenses), but I did start out many years ago with a Pentax ME-Super film camera (may have to drag that thing out again).

  23. A Canon girl all the way. Got used my first SLR in 1975 on a trip to Yosemite and was hooked. My current DSLR is a Canon 40D as well as my point-and-shoot (G9) and my trusted Infrared Canon G10.

  24. I'm currently a Nikon girl. I love the weight of ny DSLR. But my point and shoots are always Canons 🙂

  31. I'm just a plain ol' camera girl. I firmly believe the best camera you have is the one you have on you at the time…be it a Nikon, Canon, Polaroid or iPhone. Just getting the shot is all that matters.

  34. who says you can't be more than one? i've been a nikon girl since i was a kid, starting with my dad's old nikkormat. i still use a D40, but i love my polaroids too. especially the SLR 680. just wish the film wasn't so pricey.

  35. I am a canon girl – always have been. I had 8 canon film cameras (I am old school- love film) and since going digital I am still a canon girl. I do play around with my Polaroid, and toy cameras but love canon.
    Honestly though I believe the best camera you have is the one you use… to me it's the photographer's eye not the camera that matters.

  36. I'm a Nikon girl 🙂 My husband has a work issued Nikon and we fell in love with it, so it made sense for me to get something I was already comfortable with. This Christmas, I got my first new lens! A 50mm AF-S f/1.8 and I can't tell you how much I adore it!

  38. I'm an Olympus girl. In the minority, but no other camera "feels" right. I know you all know what I mean! Picking out my camera was like finding a long-lost sister!

  41. Definitely a Canon girl!!! I picked up a Nikon before I picked up my Canon, and it didn't feel right.

  55. I have actually owned both. I have had a Canon Rebel xTi and now own a Nikon D5100. If I had to choose a favorite, I would be a Nikon girl. Just love the way the camera feels 🙂

  56. I'm a Canon girl! When I took my first darkroom class, my uncle loaned me his Canon AE-1. I started shooting with it and I've never looked back. I have been experimenting lots with Polaroid lately, but I am definitely a Canon girl!

  58. Love my Canon and lenses! Started out on an Olympus SLR film camera and loved it but had to go Canon when I went Digital. My recent purchase of a Lensbaby Scout with Fisheye optic for my T2i is going to open up a whole new Canon world!

  60. I'm a Canon girl… All the way… I now have 5 Canon SLRS… Three film and two digital… I have several other cameras too… But in the end, Canon has won my heart.

  62. Guess I'm the odd duck of the bunch as I have always used Fuji……. with my latest being the FujiFilm FinePix HS10 with 30x optical zoom. I just love it!!!

  66. we have a nikon (which i use most the time) & a cannon. no polaroid, but love to use the shake it photo app 😉

  67. I'm a bit of a Nikon snob, but that's only because it's all I know. My former husband gave me my first Nikon body 25 years ago. I didn't need the lenses then because he had them all. But of course, I got few over the years. It's really about who's behind the camera though. ;->

  68. Nikon girl! 🙂 It's the first kind of SLR I learned to use, and it has always felt "right" to me.

  70. I'm an iPhone girl. Someday soon I hope to have the guts to be a Canon girl, but right now, when I need to shoot, I've got my iPhone in hand.

  71. I started 30+ years ago with Ricoh then Nikon and Pentax. Carried all 3. Since going digital It's Canon Rebel (handed off to my hubby), Canon Elph, and now Panasonic Lumix G3. Guess that makes me a PanaCan girl 🙂

  72. I am definitely Canon. I bought a Nikon point and shoot, and had to take it back. It is like learning a whole new language. And I never thought I would say it, but Manual mode is the easiest way to shoot. All of the modes for pets etc leave me shaking my head.

  74. In the movie Stepmom Julia Roberts played a photographer, and when she was shooting a scene I noticed her equipment was Nikon. Since then, everytime I saw a photographer on TV or out in the real world Nikon would always be their brand. I associated Nikon with photography early on, so when the time came to purchase my new DSLR it wasn't a question of what brand I would go with. I used my friend's Canon the other day and it felt foreign in my hands…Nikon girl forever, love my Nikon! I feel a true bond with it. ♥

  76. Proud Canon girl here 🙂 my parents got me one for my high school graduation and I've been with them ever since.

    my first love was kodak, then minolta, followed by fuji, and Nikon is my current main squeeze, with a little Pola & iphone on the side

  89. I'm a Nikon girl. Growing up I always used Kodak or Polaroid, but when I decided to go digital I chose Nikon and I couldn't be happier. I do still have my old Polaroid, I should dig it it out and see I can get it to work 🙂

  92. When I was in high school my boyfriend's uncle loved his Nikon. When I went to choose a camera I knew this would be the one. I love mine and couldn't imagine anything else. Definitely a Nikon Girl!

  97. I'm a mix of photocapturing devices. I used to steal away with my parents Polaroid and return only when the film was gone. Many years later, my husband bought me a Nikon and I've had a wonderful love affair with it. I am currently stepping out on my Nikon with my Iphone4 . I'm fascinated with the fact that I can take a crystal clear shot similar to my Nikon yet with the next push of my finger have a photo that looks so 70's. Please, oh please, don't make me pick only one.

  99. While my serious camera is a Nikon, you might want to add a category – "I'm an iPhone girl."

  101. I currently use a Nikon DSLR but then get bored and use a vintage Canon AE-1, then I might get fickle and use a diana or my phone… I am a camera girl me.. a bit a of a photography slut!

  110. I have been a Nikon girl for over a dozen years. I had a brief flirtation with Canon, but my heart led me back to my Nikon.

  112. Nikon girl! When I was first camera shopping I found that most of my favourite photographers on Flickr had one thing in common – they used Nikons. Right or wrong, that really helped me make my choice.

  122. I am a Canon Girl – it just happened that way, I guess when I got my first point and shoot as a teenager. Have always liked Canon and never had a reason to change!

I am a canon girl myself too! in fact, it just worked out that way, but my very first camera was a kodac disc! remember them? and i learned to shoot on my mom's old pentax…damn i still miss that camera.

  133. I'm a Sony girl. Both my point and shoot and my DSLR. Back in the film days, I was a Konica girl. I've always been a little off center, I guess.

  135. Right off hand I've gotta say I'm a nikon gal. But my primary film camera is a canon, and I've recently acquired an old polaroid and a couple of packs of impossible film… Nikon, though, has stolen my heart <3

Just didn't want to invest in anything new 🙂 But then I went and bought a DSLR and new glass so I could have started fresh with another brand I guess, but I love my Canons 🙂 (and my iPhone!)

I'm a Nikon girl, for no other reason except that is the first camera I owned was a Nikon that my dad got me for my birthday when I was in Middle School…and then the Nikon brand just "stuck" with me! However, recently I have learned to shoot with a Canon–I have to admit, I had to really think about what I was doing when I was shooting!

  153. I use a Fujifilm camera but cannot say that my heart goes with a particular brand. My hubby bought this for me as a gift, and I have been happy. What makes it even better is that it was very budget-friendly.

    But since I've always had a deeper passion for film, I have found my self buying (and wanting to buy) old polaroids.

    it is one of the nice article of photography.it will helpful to all photograpyh friends.canon is one of the best company which produc so many product fo photography.I've always been a Canon girl, ever since I saw my Mama with one anywhere we ever went. So from a early age, the attraction was set.who says you can't be more than one? i've been a nikon girl since i was a kid, starting with my dad's old nikkormat. it is very nice.i still use a D40, but i love my polaroids too. especially the SLR 680. just wish the film wasn't so pricey.
