I love capturing motion shots. To me, nothing shows emotion better than an act or movement caught in the moment. The kids at my son’s school put on huge dance performance every year and my ‘job’ is to put together a slideshow for their friends and family of the photos I’ve taken to show just prior to the kids taking stage. Seeing the kids in motion, the pure joy on their faces, shows everyone just how much fun they had getting ready for the big night.
Capturing motion shots of all kinds can show an array of emotions from the element of surpise to pure delight to simple childhood fun. How about you? Show us your motion shots. Let us see the emotion you’ve captured.

Here's one that captures emotion in motion..altho not of a child-at-play:

Ahhhh, great topic! This is one of my favorite shots taken in March on the annual women's beach trip. No kids, no husbands, no work, hurray! Three of the most beautiful women I know and am lucky enough to call them my friends.

What sweet photos! My photo is of my boy and about six of his friends at vacation last summer. The second photo always fills me with laughter and good thoughts of childhood which passes way too quickly.

Your shots are great! I have to photograph my son's 5th grade party in a couple weeks where I will need to focus on capturing the motion and emotion of their final fun day in elementary school.
This weekend I was able to capture my son's teammate as he showed great determination in trying to reach 1st base before the throw. Love the tongue.

I'm working on taking candid photos of people which is well outside my comfort zone. I liked the fact that I seem to have captured the spirit of the day in this one.

Here's a recent shot of my pup in motion – it's only after a run like this that she is at rest. I need more practice here but it has been fun to experiment.

I love these too! My favorite motion shots are with my dogs. When we brought them home a year ago (this weekend) they didn't stop moving for the first hour or so. It was amazing and I still grin from ear to ear when I think of that first weekend with them…

Your photos brought a smile to my face. I'm a newbie and action photos are still tricky, especially in low light, like the one I took at a riding clinic. But I liked this one none-the-less.

I have been trying to improve on my action shots now that my grandchildren are so fast!! The latest shot I have is of my dog on a rainy day though…she hates the camera and I tricked her by having the camera on the ground…

Here is a pic from our big basketball tourney this year. When I photograph the games I am usually focused on the play rather than the player. So I loved that I caught the team captain (who is very reserved) showing so much emotion in the game.
